MetPet was always there when I needed them. Right up til my Great Pyrenees passed away last week. Compassionate, competent, excellent customer service and they understand the medical issues that dogs run into. I did a lot of research on pet insurance before I signed with one and I'm glad I did. MetLife has really met my expectations. They have never denied a claim & their reimbursement time is pretty quick, which is really important as you have to pay up front for your pets vet bills up front. The claims submittal process is at first daunting, but once you get the hang of it, it is super easy. My only pet peeve (and hence the 4 stars) is if they need more information to complete a claim or follow through, they never have contacted me nor my vet to obtain further information/documentation. They literally just stop processing the claim in hopes (this is my belief) that you will not really notice and then before you know it the 90 day grace period has lapsed. That is why after I submit a claim, I check every couple of days what its status is, just to make sure the adjustor is not "sitting" on it. Be proactive and follow your claims closely because MetLife will not follow up after you. Other than that, they have been great in every other way.

I’m extremely frustrated with how long this claim is taking to process. We submitted all of the information, they refunded us off of something that was free (which means they didn’t even review it properly), said we couldn’t get anything back from any of the other services (which is not true because his previous allergy shot was covered). After sending an email, I now get emails saying our claim is missing info. So it went from being fully processed to now missing stuff and I’ve uploaded the documents they’re asking for yet I keep getting the same email. I’ve emailed them now twice asking why what I’m sending is now working and no one is responding. I am very disappointed because this is such a headache.

Once you understand the process and the documents required, the process is very fast and effective. Their AI agents are well trained and the solicitations and condolences are appreciated. We started out with 4 pets (2dogs/2cats). Since that time, one cat passed and we've had some expensive issues with the dogs. MetLife was there for each of these occasions, providing the financial support needed so we could focus on the beasties.

I submitted a claim for processing and received an email saying the claim was received and was being processed. Within two days, I received another email saying how much money we would be received via Zelle and we did! It was so easy, direct and uncomplicated and I would recommend MetLife Pet Insurance to friends and family members. Thank you, MetLife!

It's nice to have the peace of mind with pet insurance. I have the Preventative health in addition to the illness insurance. How wonderful to actually get money back from going to the vet! The reimbursement was soooo fast too! Great company with a proven track record. My concern with other pet insurances was their lack of longevity. Also, beware that some insurances won't insure your pet after the animal reaches a certain age.
