As a seasoned citizen, I'm not up on all the nuances of web hosting and was not aware until this renewal that my google workspace membership was required for my e-mail service associated with my domain name. I don't know if there is a way to make this clearer when signing up or if I just missed it. I think my first year of google workspace was free. Since I use MS office extensively, I don't use the other google products.

I've been a Name.com customer for ages. Have possibly ran close to 50 domains or more with them and have recommended others who I'm sure have purchased dozens. There's never been a case over the years in which customer support wasn't top notch. They're always there to help out with any questions, regardless how big or small the ask is. Overall it is good in terms that I get what I ask for, BUT! The overwhelming amounts of additional offers clutter the ordering screen and the checkout page is a disaster - the numbers to the right - e.g. order itself - do not match the numbers to the left (what I was seeing previously) - resulting number matches though. It make me rethinking multiple times if I made somewhere an error or where those numbers are coming from. Apart from that - all good.
Rep ok but Name.com is charging SO MUCH MORE for .com renewals, that I only keep one of my domains at Name.com, because that domain has a lot of custom configurations that wouldn't transfer, so I would have to do them manually. I think Name is being pennywise and pound foolish and it is a financial loss that will continue endlessly, year after year.
