Mike was professional and a great person to work with,HIGHLY RECOMMEND future customers to meet and work with him, thanks NFD for sending him.
Everything was great from start to finish. The consultant arrived to our home on time, showed us multiple samples after measuring our space, and guided us to help us make the best flooring decision. They also were able to get us a better price than a competitor as well as nicer floor. I would use them again in a heartbeat. The install was flawless. The crew arrived on time, completed the job in less than the time allotted, and made sure that everything was clean before leaving.
Thanks for the gift card. Excellent job
The salesman was so patient, helpful friendly and professional. The installers were great. I love this company.
So “Magic Mike “ was not only on time but a little early for the appointment! He was patient, professional and got us EXACTLY what we wanted within our budget! My husband and I are both excited about the new project and we know that our home will be holiday ready!!! Thanks for your help with this.
Arrived on time and were very professional. Cleaned up when finished, can’t ask for more than that
⚠️ WARNING — DO NOT USE #NationalFloorsDirect ⚠️ My wife chose National Floors Direct because the salesman promised the price included: ✦ Two company employees for installation ✦ Furniture moving ✦ Old carpet removal and haul-away ✦ One stop — no need to hire anyone else None of it happened. One 1099 independent contractor showed up at 11:30 AM — not the promised two employees, not in the morning. He told her he wasn’t supposed to move furniture or remove the old carpet, then expected additional compensation to do both. The job wasn’t finished until 6:30 PM. She paid a premium for a full-service package and received a single subcontractor who had to be paid extra to perform services she already paid for. 🚨 HERE’S WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE: Because he was a 1099 independent contractor — not a company employee — my wife could have been personally liable if he had been injured in our home. She was never told this. She was told he was a company employee. That distinction isn’t just about service quality — it’s a serious legal and financial risk that National Floors Direct places on their customers without disclosure. Additionally, when the contractor moved our solid oak platform bed, he slid it across the floor to access the mounting screws — stripping out the holes on a 40+ year old bed and creating repair costs we should never have faced. 🔴 THIS IS THEIR DOCUMENTED BUSINESS MODEL: • NYC government sued them for nearly 2,500 Consumer Protection Law violations • Forced to pay $250,000 in consumer restitution + $100,000 in civil penalties (February 2025) • Violations included false advertising, service delays, and refusal to refund • BBB complaints document the same pattern nationwide — salesmen promise employees, contractors show up; services promised aren’t delivered; damage occurs; company points to the 50-page contract • Confirmed paying gift cards to customers for positive reviews 🔴 BEFORE YOU SIGN: ✅ Get every verbal promise in writing — furniture moving, carpet removal, number of workers, arrival window ✅ Ask specifically: employees or 1099 contractors? ✅ If the contract is 50 pages — walk away ✅ File complaints at BBB.org and myfloridalegal.com This company has a $350,000 government judgment against them. Our experience wasn’t bad luck — it was their business model. Share this. Someone you know needs to see it. #NationalFloorsDirect #ConsumerWarning #BuyerBeware #Flooring #ConsumerProtection #HomeImprovement #KnowBeforeYouSign #FalseAdvertising
Be sure to have your attorney present when you sign the 50 page agreement. I specifically asked if an employee would do the carpet installation. The salesman said yes. The installer was a good person but he was a 1099. in Florida, businesses with 4 or less employees don’t carry workman’s comp insurance. Therefore I was liable if the installer got hurt. I was told by the salesman that it would be a two person job and the job would be completed in 3-4 hours. The installer arrived alone at 11:30 am. He was not finished until after 6pm. I knew it would be an all day job so I assumed it would be done by 5pm. I was told by the salesman that the installer would move the furniture. The installer said he expected compensation for moving the furniture. The salesman told me that the installer would take the old carpet . The installer said he would have to be compensated for taking the stained carpet. When I complained to management they kept pointing to the 50 page agreement That I had signed. If I knew about the 50 page agreement I would have had an attorney review the contract. In hindsight I should’ve have not signed anything! If you are planning to get new flooring, keep looking!
Everything went well from beginning to end. The installation and installers were top notch. The salesman was very thorough and everything went super smoothly. They cleaned up when they were done as well and my new floors look amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
They guarantee best price or its free, right? I got a much better price quote from Home Depot but I still got a bill. That being said, the flooring & stairs turned out great but brokering out the flooring wasn't what I expected. They called to reschedule because materials weren't in. They showed up anyway. Came 2 separate days. When they called to confirm the new date, the lady on the phone was shocked they were already at my house. Bad communication between office & workers.
The entire experience was great and we got very good service from the guys who worked on the rug and floors. The price point was perfect and we will definitely use national floors direct again. Thank you
The sales people were great at understanding that I needed flooring to withstand a wheelchair as my husband had been rear-ended and as a result, became a quadriplegic. They told me that it needed to glued and would put it into the contract. They even came to the hospital so I could sign the contract which helped me deal with all the stress I was going through. They (ended up with 2 people) get 5+ stars. The installer boss was there on day one, then only appeared for a few minutes on day 2 & 3. He left a single worker to complete work who was scary & didn't speak english--luckily he didn't stay long (he did poor quality work as well). On day 1, I noticed that they weren't using glue. I pointed out that the flooring had to withstand wheel chair use. The boss man said of course it would--it was really good stuff. I had to get my contract out and show him that it was supposed to be glued. He started using glue, but I fear he scrimped in areas. My husband ended up dying in the hospital. The flooring where I use my office chair has chipped at a corner, a reducer has fallen off, and some seams are puckering. It's been 2-years since it was installed. The contract says you must activate the warranty within 10 days of installation completion. I don't know if I knew that, or if I did it. However, the warranty reads very iffy anyway.
We are very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, and we appreciate your kind words about our sales team during such a difficult time. Unfortunately, we cannot identify your account from the information in this review. You indicate that the installation was completed approximately two years ago, and we have no way to evaluate the circumstances without reviewing the order and service history. It is important that any product or installation concern be reported as soon as it becomes noticeable, regardless of the warranty period agreed to in the contract. Waiting to report an issue can make it significantly more difficult to determine its cause and appropriate resolution. That said, we would value the opportunity to review your concerns. Please contact us with your order information so we can locate the account and determine whether there is anything we can do to help.
A salesman came to my house, saw my basement and all of the furniture in my basement and said my floor looked great (carpeting was pulled up by someone else before he arrived. We agreed that NFD would lay luxury vinyl plank (LVP) in my basement for a set price of $10K. On the day the installers arrived, they said the floor needed to be leveled, and wanted to first charge an extra $7K, then $6K, then said they would level the floor is I pad for the materials, which was over $2.5K. Leveling was never discussed with me and I was already paying a premium for the floor, but I went with NFD because they had a good reputation. After there was no agreement, I asked for my money back and they refused until I had to threaten elder abuse litigation. Then they came back and offered carpeting instead. They knew the reason we had pulled the old carpet was due to my wife's asthma since moving into the house, but we agreed to go with carpet as long as it was the Mohawk hypoallegenic asthma certified carpeting, and after a lot more back and forth on price, they finally agreed to do the work for the same $10K price as the LVP. Then the first set of carpet installers showed up and refused to do the work due to the furniture which the salesman already knew about and the first set of LVP installers knew about. Again, NFD tried to squeeze me for more money to move the furniture, and again I refused. So, the first set of carpet installers left. Then NFD called me back and said they would send over new installers and not charge for the furniture. Two days later, new carpet installers showed up, and again said they would not deal with the furniture because they weren't getting paid to move it around. After two wasted hours, NFD finally agreed to deal with the furniture, and the carpet was finally installed. The installers did a great job, but dealing with NFD was pure hell. And, as it turns out, when the problems first started happening over the carpeting, I contacted a local carpet retailer, and they gave me a quote for the exact same carpet, padding and installation that included a line item for moving the furniture and that $500 less than I had agreed to pay NFD.
This is a follow up. My previous review conveniently vanished. Install date was October 2024. I received a response to my Google review from Kurt Hurley CMO, National Floors Direct instructing me to contact you. I did reach out to your customer service and was told to send photos. Which I did. I received a call from Lisa and was told it was my fault and the warranty on the installation and the product was null and void. I was also told they will send someone out to inspect at a cost of $200. Of course, this did not make me happy since I was told by the salesman there was a 1 year warranty on the install and a 25 year on the product I was informed by Lisa that it was only 90 days on the labor. There are multiple problems with the floor throughout the house kitchen, living room/dining room, laundry room, den. It became so dangerous in the kitchen and the den I had to but an 8x5 area rug to temporarily cover the floor. I paid $20,000 for the floor and it did not last 6 months. Upon dealing with their customer service they wanted to send someone out to inspect the job. They made me pay $200. for the visit or they would not come out. They sent the same person that installed my floors. He checked for moisture. His meter indicated the floors had moisture under them. He never checked when the install was done. They never put vapor barrier down to protect the product. They actually overlooked 5 installation procedures. The main was not letting the floor acclimate to the temperature in the home. They left the boxes of flooring in the garage. Brought it in and installed immediately. Going from 90 degrees in the garage to 72 in the house is going to cause sweating. Also, the product will contract. I will not get into the other aspects of their negligence. That will be saved for the courtroom. They would not even contact the manufacturer without me signing a form that admonished their installation. I was told that the floor needs to be removed and then the slab would have to be sealed and the then install the new floor all at my expense. Upon research I found that National Floors were sued in New York and had to pay out a few hundred thousand in settlements for numerous claims. Now they will not even speak to me on the phone. Stay away from this company. Steven Sterbinsky
From my first meeting to the installation crew everyone treated me professionally and kept me informed about the whole project 100percent satisfied
Terrible customer service and need our carpet to be replaced because people are cutting their feet and light is coming through and they will not fix the problem.
The salesperson was knowledgeable and informative. The installer showed up on time and competed as planned. My home was left clean and the floors looked great.
From the initial visit, follow up calls over the wait time, and to the day of installation, all went great. The price was unbeatable, the quality of carpet was second to none, and the people involved was trustable. Would definitely recommend!
