I have two Orbit Compact Gear Drive sprinklers on spike I bought in 2022 and 2023. I have the receipts. The packaging says it is guaranteed for 6 years. They both broke. A little piece flew off one of the things, nowhere to be found, so it just goes in circles now. The other one slips around the stops until it bumps up against the other stop and stops. It doesn't even return to the other side. So I called the company and got the runaround. I had to take pictures, so I did. Then the guy wanted me to run some water thru the thing to clean out the debris. First off, there is no debris in the thing, If it's not washing out when I turn on the water it's not going to magically clear out any debris just because the guy asked me to. There is no way to take these things apart. For me in this instance, I feel like the company is a rip-off. My recommendation ... DON'T BUY AN ORBIT SPRINKLER!!!
Rubbish unit. I have had the outdoor 6 station smart system about 5 years and was continually going offline and was painful when I was away. Now it’s not working at all I can’t even get hold of someone for assistance. Apparently it’s a known problem with these and I would not have purchased had I known this. Now I have to replace it and I have to pay someone to do it. Under consumer protection here it has failed to meet a standard and therefore covered. I will be writing reviews everywhere
I bought my last Orbit nozzle, splitter, and anything branded by them.
They all eventually leak, or become stiff, and difficult to operate within the year, hose nozzles, 2 returned, and 2 splitters, 1 returned. I'm done, I don't even want them replaced anymore. Went on to other brands with much better results.
I purchased a B-Hyve WiFi 4 station timer today, installed it, got the wiring perfect. I have an EERO WiFi network that covers all of my property and tested signal in the garage where it was installedand Signal was full strength, both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz, yet the app was unable to find the device, I tried for over an hour to get the thing to sync up, but total failure, I had to return it and bought a cheaper model which works just fine, but, no wifi!
I bought a hose timer, gen 2, and it only worked for a couple months. They did send me a replacement after making me run tests for about an hour. The replacement one they sent me has errors when you run the device. That one started giving errors after three weeks. They probably gave me someone else's defective and refurbished timer. I get an Unscheduled Flow, Mainline error. They spent over an hour today having me test things, and then had me delete and reinstall the device. They also said I could not get a replacement for the defective timer they sent me. I will probably need to buy a Rachio timer after using their products for years.
Orbit does not stand behind there…Poor Customer Service
Orbit does not stand behind there products. I purchased a XL Stream Fire Hise Nozzle. It failed and they sent a replacement. After using this one for some time, it also failed. I call customer service and they basically said yea we sent you two products that failed and we are not honoring our produce again. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don’t purchase there products.
I cannot login to my account. I cannot get a human being to help me. The AI and chat bot they use is amazingly stupid. This company does not offer customer service in any way shape or form.
I recently had a very frustrating experience with Orbit Irrigation that highlights serious gaps in their customer service approach.
I placed an order by mistake and realized it almost immediately. Within minutes, I contacted Orbit to cancel the order, assuming this would be a straightforward request given how quickly I acted. However, I was told there was nothing they could do to stop the order—even though it ultimately did not ship for another three days. This lack of flexibility was surprising and disappointing.
When I attempted to initiate a return after receiving the product, the process became even more difficult. Their chatbot repeatedly disconnected me, claiming I did not have an account, despite the fact that I had just made a purchase. After multiple failed attempts, I finally reached a live customer support representative, only to be told that returns are not accepted.
This experience leaves a broader concern: why would a company choose policies that create friction at every step of the customer journey? Orbit operates in a highly competitive market with many alternative options offering similar products. Customer service is a key differentiator, especially when dealing directly with consumers.
At a minimum, customers expect:
The ability to quickly cancel orders placed in error
A clear and functional return process
Accessible and responsive customer support
Unfortunately, Orbit fell short across all three.
Companies that sell directly to consumers should prioritize a service mindset—one that values flexibility, responsiveness, and long-term customer relationships. Experiences like this not only discourage repeat business but actively push customers toward competitors.
Useless, unknowledgeable customer service. Have to get past the auto response gatekeeper to talk to anyone, and then that was useless. Rep tells me there is a replaceable fuse in the 57915 controller. I have the controller in my hand completely apart with teh board in my hand. There is no replaceable fuse. Says model number is either inside the removeable plate or stamped on the body. It is not. Check the recorded message Orbit. Wasted over an hour on the phone to get nowhere. Buying a Rachio. Bye-bye Orbit! DO NOT BUY.
Your customer service was very helpful. They sent a replacement, I received it the other day. My issue is still the same, even with the replacement. Both brands say they are 50ft expanded hoses. Collapsed, they are about 25 feet and barely expand to 34 feet at most. Very disappointed. But not your fault. The manufacturers need to live up to their product claims. Thank you for your considerate assistance.
I had an issue with a B-hyve timer. The item was within the warranty period… I had all the right receipts. It took 51 of very agonizing and frustrating minutes to finally get the replacement part on the way to me. If I didn’t have a significant investment into Orbit products I would definitely find a different option after such a difficult and disappointing experience.
I had an issue with my sprinkler system product and contacted support through chat. They transferred me to an agent named Shawn, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better customer service. Shawn was extremely patient and spent almost an hour on the phone with me troubleshooting every possible issue, even though it was already after 9 PM.
When we still couldn’t resolve the problem, he made sure I was taken care of by setting up a warranty replacement right away. It’s rare to find support this dedicated and willing to go the extra mile. Huge thanks to Shawn for the outstanding help!
April 27th, 2026, has been a month and still no word on the app and when they will get it to work. The controller is now 100% useless due to the app. Bhyve not only does not stand behind their product but also does not support them as a company should. Sad. What a change in the company. I have used Orbit products from over 30-plus years, I switched to the smart controller so I could use all of the smart features that are very convenient back in March of 2021. Then, everything broke down around January of this year, thank God is was Winter.
Back in January 2026 there was a system break down. Until then the app worked excellently with the controller. Now as of April 23, 2026 ( I have been awaiting for over 3 weeks now), the app still does not work to enable any of the smart features and I have to water each station manually because even the individual programs wont start, wont activate. I also had to replace the controller from 2021 because it died. Yes, it died! Not like the one I had for over 30 plus years.
Like I said the timer has been hay wire ever since Orbit had a system breakdown. Yes a system breakdown. Do not buy, do not use! A company as big as Orbit (was recently bought out perhaps this is the problem) should know to parallel programs and systems if they are making a switch. It took 5 customer service agents and not even then was my problem resolved. They decided to replace the controller that is when support stepped in to tell me about the app. I am pretty tech savvy so one of the developers even called me. They appreciated all of my input an wrote back... a fix in two weeks time... still awaiting the fix. Customer service is also overseas now, and it was rather difficult to understand their instructions at times.
Problem: The timer is not picking up on the algorithms and I am told it is the app and the phone. It also only access to two local weather station points one which is in Santa Monica (on average 10+ degrees lower than the Los Angeles basin) and the other in Burbank, on average 10+ degrees hotter than the basin), so the algorithm would always be off. It is a mess and the communications are a mess.
Final advice: I don't trust Orbit, or Bhyve products. They are now braking down and no recourse (I have also have a gen 2 hose timer timer that replaced a gen 1 timer that broke down,) and they will not replace the timer because it replaced a timer once before. No it is not in an exposed environment, and even if it was, these are outdoor systems and should be made to withstand all sorts of weather (I live in mild weather Southern Cal). If your products are faulty, you replace them no matter if it is a recent replacement to a replacement. No quality. And by the way the Gen2 hub is also now dead (this one they replacing). Orbit does not stand behind their products. The heavyweights they used to make are no more. It seems they are in it for profits and not for the customer. DO NOT BUY.
Obrit software is SCAM !!!!!Orbit 12 zone system warranty people tried to cheat !!!! They wasted half of the time asking me to troubleshoot instead of helping. After hours of troubleshooting they wanted me to go and buy voltmeter and call them once I have voltmeter to further assist. I asked them I ll buy the same orbit device and show them it’s working , they have no answer the are like you can happily buy one more … he was again a supervisor…. It’s bad to see such people in high position with bad customer service !!! Again any issues with orbit make sure to buy voltmeter ……
