Join us on a Platypus small-group wine tour of the Napa Valley, the Sonoma Valley or the Russian River / Healdsburg wine country! The tour fee is $139 per person. You’ll visit three charming, back-roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable wineries. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers. The tour guide Gary was very personable and informative. He took us to three very nice boutique wineries. Wine was delicious! Lunch was a simple sandwich so kind of disappointing, but this was a wine tour afterall!!! Would definitely recommend!
Great day trips to Sonoma
Had a great day with Gary, our driver and guide to Sonoma wineries. He picked us up at theGlen Ellen Inn and after picking up the rest of the group took us to Nicholson Ranch. Very informative lady named Debbie told us about the wine as well as how California was formed which is why the soil is so different around CA. Next we went to Honorama and had some great wine and lunch. The last stop was Peter Cellars who was a great guy and enjoyable visit to his winery. Gary handles whatever wine you purchase and puts it in the van. Great tour.

Appreciated our driver - Army!
Army was a nice and fun driver; thanks for the great pictures! Real issue for us is that there is one too many wineries, each with two too many wines to taste and no crackers or similar, as well as the wineries being so close together. We were full and tired before we got to the third one. All the wineries on the tour tho were awesome.

Great day touring North Sonoma County vineyards
Our north Sonoma County wine country tour was great! Our guide Gary was funny, engaging, and informative. He chose three unique wineries for us where we learned so much more about the making of wine, from different grape-growing perspectives. Our small group allowed for great interactions with winery staff and one another. My spouse and I enjoyed every moment of this all-day tour, and we recommend it for others visiting the area.

Great Tour of Smaller Wineries
Army was a great guide for the day - friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone on the tour mingled well and made for a fun day. The provided lunch was delicious and much better than expected. Laura Michaels was a great stop and we would definitely drop in with friends on another trip. The 2nd stop was chaotic and we never knew what were tasting. Overall, I would recommend the tour as we visited micro wineries that we would have never heard of without the knowledge of a local. Door to door service was perfect after a day of wine tasting.

Tony was a great tour guide
Tony was a great tour guide - knowledgeable of the region’s wines and all-around helpful! Our tour took us to 3 wineries, all very close to, or in, St. Helena…2 of the 3 had very good wines…the first winery we went to (Merryvale) was in St. Helena and was the most disappointing (their ice wine was good, though). A different winery - a bit farther afield than St. Helena would’ve been nice…let’s see more of Napa Valley!

Well worth the time and money!
The company provided excellent communication prior to the tour. The hotel pick up was convenient and timely. The tour guide Andy was knowledgeable and friendly. The small wineries on the tour were all different but each experience and the wines were all great. I was a solo traveler and felt quite at home with this small group tour experience. Highly recommend Platypus Tours!

Our guide in Napa
Our guide in Napa, Andy, was kind and knowledgeable. It is a great option for when you want to enjoy wine in Napa and not have to worry about transportation. The three wineries we toured were not ones I would have chosen myself, so it was nice to visit different venues. All three locations were interesting and unique. This was an affordable and worthwhile experience.

Great Day Trip with Wine and Lunch
Our guide, Linda, was organized, entertaining, and informative. The wineries offered a unique group experience in addition to tastings. The bus even picked us up and dropped us off at our Airbnb in Napa. It was a great day with lots of yummy wine and no worries about driving!

Magical Day
Magical Day! Andy was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He went above and beyond! The group of strangers became friends by the end of the day Lunch was great. Loved the quinoa salad! It’s important to start the tour at a winery where there will be more explanation and a good lead in to the day. We started with Bread and Butter. Backstage was a beautiful setting.
