Animal cruelty isn't cool

Pret's in the news again for all the wrong reasons again. It's not enough to kill customers, they have to break a promise to move away from 'frankenchicken' - chickens that are grown too fast and break their bones and other health conditions. Time to boycott Pret forever. They keep dodgy actions and postpone promises. Bye bye Pret.

Dirty, dirty.

Bath, Stall Street branch is appalling. Dirty tables, chairs covered in Gull and Pigeon poo, dirty floor and the counter area where you pay is even worse. Indifferent staff, no gluten free snacks apart from pre pack corn cakes, yuk. Had to take our coffee away and find somewhere to sit in the main shopping area. Never again.

Over the past two years

Over the past two years, I have noticed a decline in quality at Pret. The prices have gone up, but the coffee and food are not as consistent as they used to be. Coffee is sometimes burnt, matcha drinks are not always prepared properly, and some sandwiches and bread products seem below the usual standard. I also feel that some staff members would benefit from more training to maintain the high standards Pret was once known for. I hope management will pay more attention to quality control and customer experience

No seed oil–free options available at Pret A Manger

I recently had a layover at London Heathrow Terminal 3 and was looking forward to having lunch at Pret A Manger. Because I avoid seed oils, I spoke with the manager, who was incredibly helpful and took the time to review ingredient information with me. What I discovered was genuinely shocking. Across what appeared to be more than 75 menu items - including sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, breakfast items, snacks, pots, and grab-and-go options - I could not find a single item that was free from seed oils. Nearly everything contained one or more of sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, and linseed oil. What surprised me most was finding these ingredients even in products that appear to be simple, healthy choices. For example, the Mango Coconut Chia Pot - a blend of mango, banana, coconut milk, turmeric, granola, pomegranate seeds, and coconut chips - contained three separate seed oils: sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, and linseed oil. Finding three seed oils in a fruit-and-chia pot was honestly mind-blowing and underscored just how pervasive these ingredients are throughout Pret's menu. As a customer seeking less processed food options, it was disappointing to discover that there wasn't a single choice available across the entire storefront that aligned with that preference. Whether customers choose to avoid seed oils for health, dietary, or personal reasons, it seems reasonable that a food retailer of Pret's size and reputation would offer at least a handful of alternatives. Pret has built its brand around fresh, convenient food, which is why this experience was so surprising. I would happily pay more for menu items prepared with olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, or butter rather than relying so heavily on seed oils throughout the menu. I recognize these ingredients may cost more, but many customers are increasingly willing to make that trade-off in exchange for higher-quality, less processed ingredients and greater transparency. My appreciation goes to the manager, who was patient, knowledgeable, and eager to help. My frustration is not with the staff, but with the menu itself. Given the growing consumer demand for simpler ingredients, it feels like a missed opportunity that Pret does not offer even a handful of seed-oil-free options. I hope the company reconsiders this approach in the future.

Crazy expensive

I have been avoiding Pret for a while now - their prices are ridiculous. Unfortunately, they were my only choice today - £3.70 for a SMALL pot of mango cubes - that worked out to 40p a cube - holy smokes plus their £3.60 Orange juice is only 150ml (100ml less than standard) - more of a shot than an actual proper drink. We have a lot to deal with in London: Tube Strikes, the daily threat of getting hit by a Lime Bike, phone theft etc - you can add getting gouged by Pret to the list.

Purchased the standard egg mayo…

Purchased the standard egg mayo sandwich. I remember when Pret started 20 something years ago and it was delicious. There was no cress minimal egg and the bread was stale, not moist soft and chewy like it once was, honestly the worst experience, spend a bit more and go to Gail’s…Pret has gone so far and fast downhill… they’re in the classic cut cost in drive to survive, but sadly the quality dips and the consumer knows and will vote with their wallet. Plenty of new and better options out there…

i used to love those filter coffees but…

i used to love those filter coffees but i have come to the conclusion that they are not suitable for human consumption as they give me burping symptoms for days afterwards. are they leaving the cleaning products in the machine or somthing? i stopped drinking them then i was ok then i had another one recently and the stomach issue came back again acompanied by dizzy spells and excessive burping

Free goods for friends and family

Pret a manger at London Bridge is a bit strange, because as a member I pay full prices, but I have noticed today between 11:30 and 11:45 am, friends and family taken a few free presents. That's why the paying customers have to pay more. My question is, are your staff allowed to do this? Or is something that needs to be fixed?

I’ve been a loyal customer of Pret A…

I’ve been a loyal customer of Pret A Manger since around 1996, when I first moved to London to work in an investment bank in the City. Back then, Pret genuinely stood out from the competition. The quality, freshness, and generous fillings made their sandwiches feel premium, and they quickly became my go-to lunch option. Unfortunately, over the last 31 years — and especially since COVID — the quality has declined dramatically. The sandwiches now contain so little filling that they often feel overpriced and disappointing. What used to be the benchmark for high-quality grab-and-go food has become mediocre at best. It’s a shame, because Pret really was once the best of the best. But the decline has become so noticeable that I’ve now started going back to Marks & Spencer for sandwiches instead, as the quality there is now clearly superior. I never thought I’d say that after decades of loyalty, but Pret no longer offers the value or quality it once did.

Food tasteless

Food tasteless. Had a couple of cheese toasties. Passed the two to the till to be warmed up. 2 minutes later I hear a shout, 2 cheese toasties Go to pick them up. Still in brown paper bags. Can I have a couple of plates please. NO WE DONT DO THEM ! Then turns her back. I’ve just paid for 4 slices of bread a little cheese and I believe onion in 2 brown bags for £11.00 !!! Never again !

Pret harrow on the hill

Pret harrow on the hill. I got a to good to go bag. And it was disgusting. 3 items porridge and 2.veg rolls. When I went to ewa one of the very rude and Un helpful staff she told me that they give us less so they give the rest to the homeless. I've never heard such rubbish. It's great to give to the homeless but also I'm a paying customer. She was awful and so was the food . Never again will I go there

I wanted to write a review for Pret…

I wanted to write a review for Pret cause the item I get everyday has decreased in term of price. Big corps especially nowadays do not care about the financial situation and just push prices trying to make a profit no matter what. Pret decreasing price deserve my reward that is why I will not go in another big brand cafe for any drink or food items untill I see they do something similar. Will walk more if I am far from one of their venues, but will stay loyal to pret.

Brighton Station Pret

Brighton Station Pret Astronomical prices. Usually at train stations with a captive clientele prices are high but at this Pret they are way above average. But yesterday all I wanted was a white filter coffee - usually 99p. However this Pret is now charging £1.99. I walked out. As an aside white filter coffee at Paddington Station is 99p. At Waterloo Station it is £1.20 and as a regular customer is often free. At the Royal Festival Hall - a major entertainment and tourist destination - it’s still only the standard 99p.
