What people say

I read the reviews and wanted to try

I read the reviews and wanted to try. Horrible idea. Do not use the cleanser everyday, I could only use it once a week because you aren’t supposed to exfoliate your skin everyday. The night cream while heavy and creamy, often burned and the sunscreen moisturizer was all sunscreen and not moisturizer. These products now made my skin super sensitive that even a light moisturizer burns my skin. I’m going to have to do a lot of work to repair the damage the products caused.

Still holding out to see if it will work

I've only been using the product for 3 months or so, so it is possible I will start to see improvement. However, so far my acne has only worsened. I do love the day-time moisturizer and face wash that is included in the system, but just not sure if it is really working.

Such ease and efficiency of using 3…

Such ease and efficiency of using 3 products!! I have been using Proven for about 3 weeks now. My skin finally feels balanced - not that tight and dry feeling I used to get. I'm still experiencing a few breakouts, but expect that would come with the territory of using a new product and likely dealing with some purging. I'm starting to get used to using just a small amount of cleanser - I was always under the previous impression that more was always better - but my skin feels squeaky clean after cleansing and I love the smell. The day cream is nice and light, like I'm not wearing anything but my skin feels super moisturized and like it's being absorbed into my skin, not just sitting on top of it all shiny. Makeup goes on so well on top of the day cream. The night cream does have a strange smell, but nice and light and I wake up not experiencing any flakiness and my skin is nice and soft. I wish there was a little scoop that came with the night cream, since it's in a jar it's hard to measure out that "dime" size amount. As it's only been 3 weeks I think it's too early to judge whether I've seen any improvement or not. I haven't seen any improvement in my acne breakouts quite yet but my overall complexion feels soft and balanced.

Proven for Acne

I've been using Proven for my acne for about 3 months now. I have really really terrible acne (even though I'm well past puberty). Unfortunately I have seen no improvement in my acne even though I've used everything as instructed. I was really excited about this product because it sounded so personalized and I really liked their mission and backstory (I really love supporting women and minority-owned businesses). I have been on multiple prescriptions for my acne in the past and was excited about using less harmful products on my skin. Unfortunately the results I wanted have just not been there at all. I will say though that their customer service has been exceptional throughout the process. The representative I was emailing suggested I send pictures of my face and then gave really detailed advice and specific examples of things they could change in my formula to help my acne, but again with no improvement.

The set is ideal as it is supposed to…

The set is ideal as it is supposed to combine multiple products into three. I have found for my skin that is starting to age that I am not seeing the benefits I thought I would see. However, I do love the nighttime cream. It feels great on the clean skin and doesn’t leave me wanting to find other products to lather on after it. The product is probably best for more youthful skin.

So much acne after using this

I had pretty clear skin going into this experiment, and was just looking to brighten and firm. 2.5 months later, my skin is covered in deep pimples as a result of using Proven. Things went great for about 6 weeks, and after that I started having a lot of redness, sensitivity, and breaking out regularly. The pimples would go away quickly, but more came every day. Disappointing, and would not trust them to reformulate given the experience I've already had.

Still on the fence...

It’s only been a few weeks and although I like the customized set, my skin seems drier than it was before using proven. I’m hoping that will improve as I continue using my set, but unfortunately my experience thus far has not been great.

Customer service is awesome!

So far it’s been a good experience overall. The customer service is phenomenal. I had to message them to ask about getting additional product and they got right back to me. They are also working with me to help me find a regimen that works for me. My first set actually caused an increase in my acne but they listened to my concerns amd are reformulating my products to resolve the issue. I’ll have to update this after 4 weeks on my new formulation to let you know how it went!

I really like the simple and sleek…

I really like the simple and sleek package and how it caters to your skincare needs. The overall concept is awesome but as for the results, haven’t seen much difference but it could be because I haven’t been consistently using the same routine I like to switch it up sometimes depending if my skin is feeling dry that day I wld sometime add different products.

Subpar product, horrible customer service.

I had high hopes, as this company alleges they formulate based on your individual needs. However, my day cream had an ingredient in it that breaks out my skin. I contacted customer service several times about this. The responses were delayed and very generic. I felt like no one actually read what I wrote before replying or if they did, they didn’t believe me. One person actually suggested I cancel because many of their formulas have that specific ingredient and they can’t guarantee safety if I have a “severe allergy.” Not once did I say I have an allergy. In fact on several attempts to contact them, I linked to studies showing this ingredient is bad on acne-prone skin. If the skincare is custom to your needs, why can’t I get something without this ingredient and without being made to feel like I am being dismissed? This was all very frustrating because of the price-point AND the symbol at the top of their page saying they have a “reformulation guarantee.” Not once did they offer to reformulate for me, even after asking them several times. The night cream was pretty good, which is why I’m leaving more than just a single star. But it’s certainly not good enough for the price point as a stand alone product. And after the nightmare of dealing with their customer service I’m on to the next one. It’s also super fishy that you can’t leave reviews on their Facebook or their website. I actually went out of my way to figure out how to drop a review because their marketing is so misleading and want to help others avoid this company.

Doesn’t address my main issues

I struggle with hormonal breakouts and my skin care regimen has helped a little with this issue. I have retaken the skin care quiz and informed them about information they had wrong but my second shipment came with the same issues. I’m consistently looking for something better. It’s a take it or leave it skin care line for me.

I have a question how long did it take…

I have a question how long did it take for you to receive your product. I ordered on March 8th and it’s already the 18th. Ten days later I’m a little concerned. I would love for anyone to help me. Thank you Patty

Do Not Recommend at All

I loved the concept but it was a major mistake. The night cream smelled so putrid that I couldn’t wear it at night! The cleanser is only to be used AFTER you’ve removed all your makeup and I don’t need that extra step. It literally just smeared over my face versus clean anything. I did like the day cream but that wasn’t worth the price of the entire package. And no returns are allowed. Waste of money.

Ok product, terrible customer service

I’ve been using their products for a few months and thought it might have been a good skincare option due to ease. However based on my recent interactions with the company I will no longer be continuing. I was charged for my renewal without any notice to provide feedback on my current formulation. Support insisted I was sent emails to confirm this, however these emails are no where to be seen in my inbox. Instead of apologizing for this miscommunication, I was pinpointed of being at fault, and that I had to contact my email provider to see what was wrong. Instead of working with me to help resolve my issue, I was told to figure it out on my own. Their website clearly states that I would get regular check-ins with skin experts to ensure my product was working, however this was not the case. Some other issues I have with this company is that all the reviews on their official website are from "influencers". As a customer, you cannot leave a review, and I find this approach dishonest. Their priority support icon (it's a headset) suggests that you can talk live with a support agent, however they only have email support, which can be slow at times to respond. Now on to the product. Nothing extraordinary. I did not see any improvement after 2 months of use. The day lotion with SPF was grainy and unpleasant to use. The night cream had a strong scent and did not improve skin texture. The cleanser was the least offensive item. For costing $100+, I'd expect to see better results.

Expensive for what you get and horrible customer service

Took nearly 3 weeks to respond to a customer service request - in that time, sending me out (and charging) for a formulation I didn’t want. Horrible support. The product itself comes in cheap containers. The SPF made me look pale and sickly.

Do not purchase from this company

After receiving my first shipment, I provided feedback as it was advertised that they would reformulate for the 2nd shipment based on that feedback. The cleanser did not foam at all and I needed to use a LOT to even feel I could cover my face; I liked the night cream and hated the day cream. The day cream felt like that cheap white sunscreen that you can't get absorbed into your skin. It was very drying. Even though I reported this, I was not given the opportunity to have the formulations changed. I then asked to cancel and many days later received an email telling me the only way to cancel is to go to the site to unsubscribe. I did so. In fact, I had to go through the process twice in order to unsubscribe. There is a post-cancellation survey that I took twice. A few days ago, received an email that my next shipment (my 3rd) was in process. I wrote to express my surprise and was told, "you didn't follow my directions to cancel your subscription." I did, in fact, follow her directions, canceled twice and now canceled a 3rd time (and took the survey yet another time). I've just been told again that I was wrong and that I never canceled. I would never recommend this service.

Fails to Deliver

Proven makes bold claims about being personalized and based on meta data analysis of studies and feedback on beauty products. However, after a year of use, I would say that they failed to deliver. Initially I liked the products, but over time, I developed issues with redness and dryness that I did not have prior to using the product. I would re-take the quiz and still the problems kept worsening. I don't know if the repeatedly changing formulations kept my skin from adjusting or if I have issues that are beyond their ability to accommodate. The night cream also has such an unpleasant odor that if you are sensitive to scents, this is a must avoid. Canceling subscriptions is not easy, although they have added a way to do it through the website now. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience and have had to change products to remedy the issues I developed on this system.

If you subscribe you are trapped

Products didn’t work die me with extreme irritation. I unsubscribed to the service by answering a survey and subsequent emails, with a confirmation to my unsubscribtion. Nevertheless, I continued to be billed and denied a refund. Their excuse was that I filled a reformulation, which their customer representative adviced me to fill. Be careful before you subscribe since it might become a trap.

I paid over $100 for crappy skin care…

I paid over $100 for crappy skin care products that I can't use. The day cream leave my skin tight and dry feeling. The night cram leaves a dry film that rubs off on my fingers.

I paid $128 to get much worse skin

I paid $128 to get much worse skin. Their customer service was cheerful but did not coordinate well with other departments from the beginning. So, it took longer to get here than the 2-3 days they claimed. I appreciate we are in a pandemic but I think they could set expectations differently. After an initial terrible experience with it, I wrote in and someone recommended a regimen. I followed it to the letter for 2 rounds of 4 days and my skin was still worse than when I started it. No refunds or exchanges, they said they would replace one of the products with a different formulation. Not willing to try again after the first round worked so poorly. I regret believing their ad. Buyer beware.
