What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently struggle with completely unresponsive customer service teams, often getting stuck dealing with automated chat bots that fail to provide any real solutions. People also express significant frustration regarding missing funds, invalid gift card balances, and sudden account closures without clear explanations.
However, a small portion of people felt that the platform worked well for them in the past. Some reviewers also mentioned having positive experiences previously, noting that customer support was once very helpful and reliable before recent changes. A few consumers even experienced smooth transactions or managed to get refunds after encountering minor errors.

I've been using them since 2018, usually with good results. Tonight I bought a $50 Doordash gift card, tried to use it immediately and it came up as already having been redeemed. Now they refuse to refund without written confirmation from Doordash that I didn't redeem this card which is impossible to get. Their money-back guarantee means nothing and they are openly committing fraud.

Your account information has been requested for escalation. At your convenience, please respond back so that we can provide locate this order. We do want to give a heads up that select brands restrict giving information from an account and this is due to their security policies. DoorDash is one of them and it is advised to our team that the account holder is only capable of getting certain information. Our intention is not to cause an inconvenience, though we understand that this may come across as such. However, GCX is unable to bypass DoorDash's restrictions and we must also uphold our own policies to ensure that we have the proof we need to hold the seller accountable. We hope this gives understanding to our process and can't wait to hear from you soon.
I used this company to purchase $400 worth of NEWELY issued gift cards(not a resale from a former owner )at a discount of $375 from another company. The other company received the order and issued the brand new gift cards then a few days later GCX charged back the order from that company which caused the other company to disable the gift cards they issued and mark GCX transaction as fraud. This all happened on the backend without me knowing until i went to use the gift cards just to find out they were marked as fraudulent. GCX refused to refund my money due to their 90 day policy even though they were the fraudulent party. In short they stole the entire $375 and are refusing to give back in anyway shape or form. I'm in contact with my credit card company and will be contacting the BBB towards this company's fraudulent behavior.

This is not the experience we intend for you to have , at all. Please note, that GCX is not capable of reporting or altering a gift card balance, this is against our own policy and does not fall in line with our ethical agreement. There is a possibility that the cards were later reported by the original owner of the gift cards, and was not deemed fraudulent at the time of card verification. Please respond back to our TrustPilot information request, and we can have our investigations team review this interaction in full to understand how we can make this better.
I do not see anyway to add Paypal as a Payment option. The Chat says it is in Payout Preferences but these is nothing in my account that has this title. The Chat supposedly escalated to Customer Support and I was supposed to get a response with 24 hours but its been 3 days and NADA.
Reply from GCX2026-07-23
We apologize for the confusion here and the delay in assistance. Please note that PayPal is available via the GCX app only. This can be done within checkout after selecting the "Add Payment Method" option. We hope this helps and we will surely make corrections with our chat bot to provide clearer direction.
Misleading "90-Day Guarantee" – Zero Support for Defective Cards
Avoid this company. I purchased a gift card that arrived with a $0 balance from day one. I never used it. When I opened a support ticket to get this resolved, customer service completely refused to help, closed my request, and shifted the burden of proof entirely onto me. They are forcing me to contact the merchant myself to do their investigative work instead of honoring their policy. Their "90-Day Money-Back Guarantee" is a complete joke with zero buyer protection or accountability. Highly disappointed.

Our support specialists have resolved this matter and processed a refund in your favor. We sincerely apologize for your experience and appreciate your patience throughout the process. We'll continue taking steps to ensure future investigations are thorough, timely, and effective.
This is a follow-up of a previous 1 star review. It took GCX 10 days to respond, but only after they saw my review on Trustpilot. I have never heard back from their chatbot support team which it says will respond in 24 hours. I have literally spent about $40,000 on Raise and GCX and this is the first time I have run into a problem where $2,000 of my money has just disappeared from my Home Depot gift cards. I don’t care if they do say they have a 90 day guarantee policy. They collected a fee from me to help keep their site legal, yet they allowed someone else access to my cards. That is illegal. This site is now a scam site and I will no longer be buying from them. I understand why they keep their contact information a secret because otherwise they would be in jail from all the police reports that people are trying to file against them. I haven’t given up…I will still find some way to report them.
I’ve been buying and holding a large number of gift cards purchased from Raise and GCX. They were held in my account on the site. All electronic, no physical cards. All my cards suddenly disappeared recently and I have had absolutely no success in communicating with the company. My loss will be in the thousands of dollars. And it appears that there’s not much you can do about it. I will contact my bank. Beware.

This issue is currently only affecting the GCX app due to a bug impacting access. Our team is actively working to fix it as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, you can still access all of your orders through the website without any issues. We recommend using the web experience to view and redeem your gift cards while we get the app back up and running. However, if there is a need for support with the web experience, you may reach out to [email protected] for assistance.
I was trying to buy enough Home Depot gift cards over a reasonable amount of time so I could pay for my new countertops (about $8000). When I went to use the cards $2000 worth of them were empty. I had purchased them 6 months ago. I have been trying to reach GCX through their chatbot and they do not respond. I am so angry as this is a lot of money to lose. They say they will get back to you within 24 hours. I have been waiting 5 days and nothing!!!! Buyer beware!

GCX is a marketplace backed by a 90-Day Guarantee. Because gift cards are pre-owned, this policy is in place to protect users against any issues that may arise within that timeframe. We also encourage customers to redeem their cards within 90 days to ensure full coverage. We are not able to operate outside of guaranteed policies.
Based on the details shared, this issue falls outside of the 90-Day Guarantee period and is therefore not eligible for coverage under the policy. We apologize for any frustration this may have caused.
We also understand your concern regarding a lack of response from our support team. Regardless of the timeframe or policy eligibility, support should remain responsive and consistent. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we’re sorry for the delay and inconvenience. To make sure this is reviewed, we’ve requested your account details via Trustpilot so our team can investigate what happened and ensure it is addressed appropriately.
When it works, it's great. But when you actually need customer service support, their website is broken, and their email address provides copy/paste responses that don't resolve the issue. Will not be continuing to use.
Horribly difficult process to claim gift cards Steer Clear
I received a gift card from someone as a gift. To be able to redeem it you first must register provide all of your personal details and set up an account and absolute painful process no doubt with my information being sold to God knows where like most other companies these days.
Then the process declaim the gift card and immediately cancel your account is almost impossible having to submit a support ticket after verifying your email please stay well clear of this site

We understand this experience has been frustrating, especially when the intent is simply to redeem a gift card.
Your feedback has been noted and flagged for review as part of ongoing improvements to the gifting experience for new users.
If your account is still undergoing verification, please share your account details via Trustpilot so our team can review your case and help expedite the process, ensuring you’re able to access your gift card as quickly as possible.
I purchased Ann taylor GC worth $298 on 11/29/25 on GCX platform. I used it towards an initial purchase of $134.12 on the same day. Tried to use the remaining balance of $163.88 towards an in-store purchase at Ann Taylor on May 24, 2026. However, the gift card did not work despite multiple tries giving an error " your transaction was not processed". This is a huge balance amount sitting on the card. I have been a loyal GCX customer, and it is frustrating to have a gift card not working when it is supposed to be valid for a year.
GCX does malpractices. They host those e-gift cards on their platform, and its pretty clear they siphon those off or resell those e-gift cards past 90 days. Their 90-day guarantee is a sham. Ever heard of a gift card that becomes invalid after 90 days ? Reason is they operate like crooks taking away consumer s hard earned money put into the gift card. Not having a phone number or face to the customer service means they become even more shameless and unethical. How long can such a business thrive when the foundation is about cheating customers.

All gift cards available on our marketplace are pre-owned or unwanted cards listed by sellers who no longer wish to keep them. The balance on any given card is entirely outside of our control, as GCX simply serves as a bridge connecting buyers seeking discounted gift cards with sellers looking to offload them. Our role is to verify that each card is valid at the time it is submitted for sale on our platform, and that is where our direct involvement with the card itself ends.
It is important to understand that our 90 day guarantee is a service policy, not a reflection of how long a gift card balance will remain valid. It defines the window in which you are eligible to reach out and receive support or a refund should an issue arise. Once that window has passed, you are no longer covered under our guarantee, which has always been the case under our previous one year policy as well.
As a third party marketplace, we have no ability to control or guarantee gift card balances beyond the point of sale. It is the responsibility of the customer to use their card within the agreed upon timeframe to ensure they remain eligible for coverage should any issue come up. We hope this provides clarity to the resolution of the matter reported.
I have been a long, long loooong time member of this company. I started with them when they were Raise. Unfortunately, since GCX acquired Raise, they have cheapened their product/service.
First Raise had a one year guarantee on gift cards, then GCX lowered it to 90 days. Raise was also reachable by phone, GCX has taken that away. Raise would give out special discounts to their members every once in awhile, GCX has never done so. The most recent thing GCX has done is add a surcharge to each card you buy. My last attempt at buying two cards resulted in an almost 10% "platform fee" as they call it. Obviously eats away at any discount they state they give you. Oh, if you do have an issue with a card, be prepared to have a tennis game with customer care. Yes they do reply. Sometimes slow, but they do. However, they will then ask you multiple questions regarding what, when where and how your card was used. To their credit, they will refund the card if it was a legit loss on your part, but it is not an easy path. All in all, they just keep finding away to erode the once great thing Raise used to be. In this case change is definitely not better :(

We really do appreciate you sharing all of this. The platform changes and promotions feedback is heard and we're not brushing past it. We also want to specifically acknowledge the support experience because that one matters a lot to us. Every customer deserves to feel taken care of and we recognize that isn't always the reality on the receiving end for you. We're actively working to close that gap and reviews like this one are a big part of how we get there.
Shocking customer service. Referral scam taking place in the UK. Blocked my account and unable to claim £50 of referral credit. Customer service absolutely pointless. Went around in circles fobbing me off then just completely ignored any communication.

Locks are usually linked to a verification requirement and something we can absolutely look into for you. Send over your account details, we'll escalate immediately and get the right person on it.
Purchased a Darden gift card in November of 2025. Went to use it in April of 2026 only to find out that it was used in January by someone else. GCX does not offer live support. It is all through the BOT. They refused to refund my money. This is a SCAM and I would stay away from this company. I can't understand how they can sell an item to the public and not guarantee it for the life of the card. I know this a reseller but guarantee what you sell. Stay away.
UPDATE: After numerous attempts, they did finally refund me which is great. Be very careful of buying on this platform since you only have 90 days guaranteed. If you buy, use the cards fast. The policy is bad.
UPDATE #2-Your reply assumed "I understood" I don't. If you sell a gift card, I should be able to use it whenever I want, not in your time frame. You need to guarantee it or don't buy them from sketchy sellers. No wonder you have so many negative reviews.

Our 90-day policy helps ensure that every purchase meets its intended purpose. While marketplaces can sometimes come with unexpected challenges, this period provides coverage for such situations. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by your recent refund and appreciate your understanding.
Used to purchase gift cards. 99percent worked. One time had a card invalid had to write to support to get refund. Haven’t been getting replies but got refund.

Thank you for your feedback! While we’re glad to hear that you've had a positive experience overall, we notice your mention regarding not receiving responses despite a resolution being provided. We will review this further to understand what happened and ensure better clarity moving forward. Our goal is to remain fully transparent and ensure our customers feel consistently supported throughout every interaction.
I sold several gift cards on GCX and needed to withdraw my funds. The website was not allowing me to add a bank account to allow for an ACH deposit. I was also getting an error message attempting to withdraw via PayPal. I reached out to customer service and they were verrrry slow to respond. It is very concerning there is no phone number to actually speak with someone. This was a particularly alarming experience as I had over $3,000 to withdraw. It took nearly a week of going back and forth via email and eventually they made a fix on the back end and I was able to complete my withdrawal. Updating my 1 star review to a 3 star.

Have been using GCX religously last few years. Don't always have the highest % off coupons, but they have a strong variety and great customer service if any mistakes.
Thank you for literally saving me $1000's.

95% of the times i have no issues but when i do its a nightmare. they ask for absurd documentation, have horrible almost bot like responses and do everything they can to delay refunding an invalid card

Due to the circumstances of our marketplace, we push for proof with every reported card issue. Since there are two separate parties involved with every transaction (the seller and the buyer) we must ensure that every decision is based on suitable proof from the brand. This is not with intention to refute your claim as a buyer or cause additional inconvenience. Our ask of more information instead creates security for your return in the case a seller disputes our decision of a refund. If you are having issues with obtaining the necessary information from the brand, please advise our support for additional direction.
I've been using them for a couple of years without issues, but recently my orders stopped going through. Payments aren't charged, nothing is processed, and nothing is received. There's no explanation, messages, or notification, which makes the situation frustrating and confusing. At my age, I focus on what actually works. I've tried different platforms, and #century 100 is one that has paid me.

Account deactivated, reactivated after TP complaint
I've used this site for years without issues. Then, out of the blue, I can no longer log in. The account is deactivated. No reason given. No email to explain. Customer service is a chatbot that does nothing. GCX stole about $200-$300 worth of cards that I still have in the account, which I can no longer access.
Update 3/18/2026: GCX reached out to me and reactivated the account. Thanks.
