I wish I had seen a review like this before starting my membership. SmarterASP’s Node.js hosting runs on a shared pool that is restarted every single day at 6pm UK time. During this restart, all hosted Node.js sites go down, and the first user to visit afterwards will see an error. Even after that, it takes close to a full minute for the application to “wake up” and become accessible again. For any site where uptime and user experience matter, this is a serious issue. I only discovered this behavior after deploying my application, and it was extremely frustrating to explain to clients why the site would suddenly become unresponsive every evening. If you are considering SmarterASP for Node.js hosting, be aware of this daily downtime and slow cold start before committing.
On a shared hosting server, we need to periodically recycle our pools to ensure it’s heath and peek performance. None of our customers raises any concerns since pool recycling doesn’t affect .net sites. But if this affects you in anyway, you should consider a dedicated or fully managed server.

This is best choice for hosting. chose SmarterASP for the direct SQL server access without any web-tools like other hosters do - and I stayed because of the price and the solid hosting. In the last years I had only one topic and that was a "data processing" contract, which would have allowed me to host a befriended school there ... but from a pure technical perspective one of my favorite hosters.
