Many users expressed deep disappointment regarding unexpected login errors and sudden app crashes experienced during routine workouts. People also encounter frustrating subscription renewal problems and extremely difficult cancellation processes within the platform. However, some customers also noted that the application provides precise movement tracking and smooth core functionality. After being a paid member for a year and using the app faithfully for over three years, I'm now unfortunately going to have to delete it! All because I gave a member a compliment. If I could give Strava zero stars

If I could give Strava zero stars, I would. Once you log out of the app, for whatever reason, it becomes an absolute nightmare trying to get back in. You have to wait for a verification code, which can arrive at any time up to 3 days and then you have just five minutes to use it. How is that supposed to work when you're out cycling, potentially at high speed, and simply trying to access your account? To make matters worse, none of the codes I received actually worked. And rather than making things easier and helping customers, the support process seems to make the whole situation even more frustrating. For an app that is supposed to support people's health, fitness and mental wellbeing, this is incredibly disappointing. My advice would be: look at alternative apps that actually value their customers and provide proper support when things go wrong. Strava seriously needs to rethink its login system and its customer service.

Useless for Serious Training

I'd been training very hard and made a special trip to the mountains where I planned to gather some baseline stats at altitude. The app stopped working and I missed out on the data I'd been hoping to get. Two weeks later no response from support, not even to acknowledge my initial email. I can't rely on Strava. My companion who pays for the app had a completely different error, and was also unable to track himself! He didn't contact support he just cancelled his subscription. Strava is basically useless seeing as you can't rely on it. If you're at the point where you're number-crunching your fitness my experience is that you need something else. I wonder if they outsourced to AI or cheaper developers?

Tried to cancel/pause subscription in the app. Was instructed to go to strava.com to manage subscription. In strava.com was bounced directly back to app! No option to cancel. Only to modify subscription, with options to modify to a higher cost plan. Round in circles. Only when I removed app was I then able to find the tiny font hyperlink on strava.com to cancel. It was unnecessarily time consuming and awkward. This is clearly deliberate to encourage you to give up and remain subscribing. Not impressed.

THIEVES!!

THIEVES!!! I installed the app and it's says 30 days free membership. I said no harm in trying and see if I like the app. I was charged AFTER TW0 DAYS for a whole year!!! 2 days. I didn't even get a chance to use and see if I like it. They have stolen my money and won't give it back!!!! Bloody thieves. I will never purchase again.

Strava gets a -5 star review and -5 star rating for its abominable customer service - Strava double debited my account - taking double the amount for my subscription - 6 weeks to reply after having to chase asking ridiculously for me to say how!!! And within 2 days Strava emailed me saying no reply assuming matter resolved. Don’t allow Strava to direct debit your account.

My husband was walking the dog when a group from Strava went by; shortly before 9:00 a.m. 7/17/2026. This was moving north on Vinson drive about a quarter mile north of the intersection of Vinson/Stassney, Austin Tx. He was on the sidewalk with about a 5 foot separation between the side walk and the street. The dog had pooped in the grass just as the cyclists started passing, so he and the dog waited quietly for the large group to pass. One of the cyclists, a black male, yells: "What you looking at! Clean up that Shit!!!" Apparently Strava attracts loud mouth jerks.

I’m so disappointed

I’m so disappointed. I wish I’d read reviews before paying for an annual subscription that I can’t access at all. I’ve lost count of the emails to customer service that remain unanswered. I really don’t quite know what to do to get a refund or access my subscribed membership- which is what I’d really like. But I’d advise anyone, not to take out an annual subscription. Perhaps try a month. See how you go. Then decide whether to extend. My issue doesn’t seem resolvable re my account, and I think the money is lost too.

You have destroyed your own concept by beefing too greedy even to paying customers- so now I can’t easily sync my routes as be fore with my devices. This is the deaths of subscription customers when you become way to greedy!

Customer service non-existent

If I could give zero stars, I would. I accidentally upgraded to a bundle package on July 1st, which was supposed to give me a pro-rata discount based on my current subscription. Instead, their glitchy system charged me the full retail price of £119.99 because my original account used a gift code. I contacted them immediately to cancel within my legal 14-day cooling-off window, but I have been completely ignored in an automated chat queue for over 10 days. Absolute radio silence. I’ve had to open a formal dispute with PayPal just to get my money back. Shocking lack of human support for a major global platform.

Horrible Customer service

Ordered shorts from their new shop. Arrived damaged. When requested replacement they tried to charge me for the return fees. Had to point out that it’s illegal so they generated return label. Never send a replacement and I had to send them number of e mails requesting a refund and contact my bank. Got my money back now, but it took over 5 weeks. Didn’t even offer a discount code for future purchases as an apology. Won’t be spending my money there.

Customer Service That Simply Stopped Responding

I've been a paying Strava subscriber since 2020 and, until now, have generally enjoyed the platform. Unfortunately, my recent experience with customer support has been extremely disappointing. My annual subscription renewed in May 2026 at £54.99. As a student, I subsequently completed Strava's student verification process and my account was updated to show: • Annual Plan (Student) • £27.49/year • Student discount (-50%) ends May 2027 Given that Strava had verified my student status and was displaying my plan as £27.49 per year, I contacted support to ask why I had been charged £54.99 rather than the student rate. The initial response explained that my student verification had been completed after the renewal date. I accepted that explanation and acknowledged the timeline. However, I then asked a different question: if my account now shows an Annual Student Plan at £27.49 per year, with the student discount ending in May 2027, why was I charged £54.99 for the subscription period ending in May 2027? Unfortunately, support repeatedly ignored that question and instead continued to send responses explaining the verification timeline that I had already acknowledged. I pointed out that Strava's own account portal states: • Annual Plan (Student) • £27.49/year • Student discount (-50%) ends on 21 May 2027 The natural interpretation is that my current subscription is a Student Plan costing £27.49 until May 2027, after which it would renew at the full rate unless I reverified. Despite asking several times, nobody has explained why the information displayed within my account appears to contradict the amount I was charged. I have requested on multiple occasions that my case be escalated to a supervisor or manager and formally treated as a complaint. Those requests have not been acknowledged. I sent a detailed email on 11 June asking for clarification. After receiving no response, I sent a further email on 21 June specifically requesting that the matter be logged as a formal complaint and escalated. That email has also gone unanswered. At this point, the issue is no longer about £27.50. It is about poor customer service, scripted responses that failed to answer the questions I was actually asking, repeated requests for escalation being ignored, and then complete silence. I genuinely enjoy using Strava and have been a loyal paying customer for several years, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. I expected much better from a company of this size.

The main problem as a paying subscriber…

The main problem as a paying subscriber is that I have genuinely no idea anymore what I'm paying for. Is it customer service? Definitely not. Support tickets get answered after a month, and the answer is routinely "do you still have the same problem? Please let us know. Sorry it's taking so long". Is it functionality? Nothing really in there that other services can't do just as well. Some funny leaderboards with people I don't know personally, some personal stats that you might as well just export and analyse somewhere else. Is it that pathetic AI (which seems to be what they invested in instead of functioning base features and service)? All I've seen it do so far was summarizing data that I can see myself in a way that just ups the level of ass-licking. Emotional support AI? Sorry, but Strava just looks like an increasingly useless expense to me. Added value is fringe at best, support isn't worth its name, and some functionality that I'd consider pretty basic from a ride tracking app isn't working properly. Instead, we now have an AI that successfully parrots data points back at me. Congrats.

Disappointed in Strava (Support)

I’ve been using Strava for many years and have built up a lot of activity data — data I’ve also shared with the Strava community. Recently I got a new phone, but I no longer have access to the email address linked to my Strava account. In other words: I'm not able to login to Strava on my new phone I contacted Strava Support and logged several cases with a simple request to update my email address, but they haven’t responded for weeks. I understand they may be busy, but leaving users without access for this long is unacceptable. Strava should allow users to update their email address themselves and offer a second method to receive 2FA codes — not only via an email address that no longer exists.

I have a serious Privacy Issue with Strava. The Strava support page was pretty terrible as all you can do is raise a ticket and wait. They have recently improved their customers support, but this is most definitely a questionable improvement as they have deleted their customer support page and now you can no longer monitor your ticket. If I could give 0 starts for customer support I would. Absolutely! Appalling. Especially after years of paying for subscription. I just want to delete anything to do with these jokers but can't until they have resolved their breach of UK GDPR data rules.
