I booked with BudgetAir after seeing a great price for a multi-flight trip. Instead of feeling excited for an upcoming trip, I'm now being asked to spend much more money and leaving for a trip with risk of no return flight home. None of this worth, the "great deal" they initially offered.
Months after booking flights for two passengers for a 24hr+ travel itinerary, the airline changed its schedule. BudgetAir then rebooked us on an itinerary that was impossible; our connecting flight departed before our first flight even landed. At no point did we receive a call regarding the conflicting flights to see if alternative arrangements needed to be made.
When we contacted BudgetAir, they told us to call EVA Air. EVA Air told us the opposite: because we booked through BudgetAir, only the agency could fix the ticket. So, following that step, we've spent many hours over multiple days being bounced between customer service reps over a problem we didn't create. And still, with no resolution that supports us in getting back home.
We booked early on to secure a good fare, yet we are expected to absorb the extra cost because of schedule changes outside our control with extremely limited supports from BudgetAir. For the 4th day in a row, we have been told the problem will be escalated to another staff member and yet, we still have no resolution.
We did everything we could on our end to help resolve this. We researched alternative routes (even with the exact same airlines and within the same dates), suggested solutions, and spent countless hours trying to make this work. Rather than advocating for their customer, BudgetAir is leaving us to deal with it alone.
We expected a travel agency to make travel easier when things went wrong. Our experience has been the exact opposite. I would highly recommend to any customer considering their booking options to go with a different company or directly through the airline. Neither myself or the passenger going with me are new to travel, cancellations, and multi-flight experiences, but the difficulty experienced with BudgetAir is unlike any before - and I traveled through COVID shut downs.

Hello Cameron,
Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed review.
Flight schedule changes are initiated directly by airlines, and securing a functional alternative requires coordinating closely across systems to ensure a safe return journey. Taking ownership of the situation and resolving the conflicting connection remains the top priority to ensure the trip goes ahead safely. A private message is on its way to pull the booking details together and get this sorted out without further delays.
Kind regards,
Leo
Very easy to book, transparent pricing and fare conditions, very fast.

We're so pleased to hear that you found the booking process easy, the pricing transparent, and everything so fast! We truly appreciate your positive feedback.
I would recommend not purchasing flight tickets through you
I chose to unsubscribe from your newsletter because I am very disappointed with your company, which I ordered as usual for one flight ticket that includes four flights (due to the war in Iran, many airports were closed) and although I was informed that they did not put me on the first plane, for unclear reasons (they claim that I needed a visa for a place where I do not need a visa to transit through the airport only) you chose not to give me any refund and sent me to the airlines for a refund. In my opinion, you are an irresponsible ticket company, because I did not receive a response to the cancellation that was made that day and I was unable to reach you on the day I did not board the plane and I also lost four flights and over $500. I would recommend not purchasing flight tickets through you. Thank you

Hello Sharon,
Thank you for your feedback!
Transit visas are strictly regulated by destination and transit authorities, and passengers are responsible for verifying entry and transit requirements with local embassies before travel.
We take your feedback seriously and will reach out to you directly to review your case details.
Kind regards,
Steve
BudgetAir
Please just spend the extra $20 to book with the airline.
Flying home from Dublin back to the US. The airline suddenly cancelled my flight and I was assigned a flight the next day, messing up my travel plans. I went to the airline (WestJet) and asked if there was any possible way to get a refund for my missed connections and a hotel waiver for my extra day, where they said that they normally, would give me $250 CAD, but because it was booked with a travel agency(Budget Air), it was up to Budget Air to accommodate. After calling Budget Air, I was told that there was “nothing they could do” to provide for the connections and the hotel, and that I would have to pay the extra costs. I’m grateful that I still have a way home(albeit with extra travel costs) but please, just spend the extra money to book directly with the airline. You’ll be glad you did when things go wrong.

Hello Rockwood,
Thank you for your feedback!
As an Online Travel Agency, we facilitate ticket bookings and do not directly provide hotel accommodations or ancillary compensation for airline-initiated cancellations. Operating carriers manage disruption care under their own guidelines.
To help safeguard against unexpected costs from flight disruptions, we offer AirHelp delay protection during checkout, which provides up to €600 in compensation when things go wrong.
We regret the inconvenience caused by the airline's cancellation and appreciate your feedback.
Kind regards,
Steve

I purchased west jet tickets for Aug 4 through Budgetair. WestJet sent an email to all passengers flying between July 31-Aug 4th discussing the potential for strike and offered customers to cancel free of charge. I sent the email to Budgetair they refused to give a refund. I booked another airline. The strike happened and they suspended all flights and Budget air still refused to refund as the strike is over. WestJet has stated that they are not charging for this flights that it is the third party that is refusing to refund. I have escalated to a manager who sent an email stating that the flight is back on so not refunding.
Please do not use BudgetAir if you want peace of mind.
Flight cancelled by airline, budgetair did not inform me. Upon requesting refund given a timescale of 8-10 weeks sighting airline policy whilst same flight booked with other agents refunded within days. BudgetAir can not be trusted with service or money, a terrible agent who holds your money to benefit themselves. I will now apply section 75 and claim my money through my credit card. Please do not use BudgetAir, pay a couple of pounds extra and book with a reputable agent.
