Simple, Afforable. Takes a long time to receive anything, the portal can be improved to make it easier to skip all the ad ons. As its my first release i find it nail biting waiting for the spotify artist page to be ready as i would love to start the pre-save campaign and also do my artwork for the page and have it all ready to go at least 2 weeks prior to the release. That would be awesome if that timeframe could improve.
The review went through quickly and the fact that I needed to make a minor adjustment, it went regardless streaming on platforms before the deadline I put for myself, that was very helpful with my planning.
What was alittle confusing is that I uploaded a song that I wanted to pay for distribution that went smoothly. Then I wanted to put another but I wanted to put that free, and I didn't see the option anymore. (I didn't see the option where I would keep 85% instead of 91% that is why I didn't upload the instrumental of the song separately. I have a few other songs where I would be ok with 85% of it, if I still saw that available option.
The service itself was good, except for the fact that you can only upload at CD quality. What I did not like was the fact that they keep bombing you with things to promote your music and make it more popular etc etc. At some point it gets tiring to be a musician if all you think about it making money.
This feedback was prior to the recent resolution provided me. After having issues with the labeling and distribution of my track, it took several weeks to obtain any assistance from customer service, after multiple unanswered emails, and chats. The turn around time was atrocious. Finally April responded and handled my issue with high level professionalism. I definitely feel she should be recognized as she saved a customer from going to Landr, at least for now. As I mentioned to her, my concern is will this be a pattern for the many tracks I need to process and distribute over the next few months? Right now I’m on the fence about it, since from some reports claim CD Baby has developed a reputation for what I just experienced. I’m not sure if you are understaffed and other internal problems, but I hope your company is taking whatever is happening seriously as this will eventually erode your ability to sustain market presence and profitability. Anyway that’s it. I will need to really ponder staying with CD Baby going forward or looking elsewhere. I’m not sure right now…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Experience with CD Baby
CD Baby delivered a smooth, professional, and reliable distribution experience. Uploading my release was straightforward, the quality checks were accurate, and every step of the process was clearly explained. My track appeared on all major platforms faster than expected, and the communication throughout was excellent.
The platform makes it easy for independent artists to manage their releases, track progress, and feel confident that everything is handled correctly. Support was responsive and genuinely helpful.
Highly recommended for any artist who wants a trustworthy and efficient music distribution service.
A little overwhelming at first but once I just slowed my approach and took my time everything went well. I should have taken more time on my graphics but that was my fault. Once I had everything uploaded the service was top notch on releasing the album on all the major music platforms. The next album will go much better as far as graphics because i will take more time with that. Again, any stumbling blocks were my fault. I highly recommend Cd baby and Will definetly be distributing more music there.
I don't like there no way I can talk to humans being when I need help I had trouble downloading the song no one to turn to for help that bad business that was my biggest issue and had small issues I just pass on.
