Because I was ready to change service provider, I drove to the store in Appleton, WI, in order to actually speak with a representative and explore the available options. Since my phone had reached its "end of life," I was interested in purchasing a new unit. The representative at the store was very helpful, especially in transitioning my former account to Consumer Cellular. I also appreciate the discounts provided by my AARP membership. I am satisfied with the service provided as well as the new tech!

I did not like you have go to Walmart to get stim card for $10. I still don't have my phone on yet since 6/27/26. I am handicap with no ride. The guy who took my order said the card card was coming in the mail. Why ? Miscommunication I guess? JSimmons
Though the process took more time than I expected, the instructions for transferring from Verizon to Consumer Cellular were clear and precise.

While I love the price, the service works in places that US Cellular and Boost did not, and their quick response to questions, I did not like them saying that they could support my old device with hotspot when they could not. I need hotspot for work and had a 4g device that worked fine on US Cellular network with it. Unfortunately, it seems that all these services are only supporting 5g hotspot at this time, which meant I had to do what I was trying to avoid and buy a new device. Further, having an account eligible for an upgrade was supposed to afford me the option of a payment plan for the device. Yet when I went to purchase it, they wouldn't accept less than payment in full immediately to receive the device. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

She consistently provided friendly, knowledgeable service and took the time to understand each customer's needs before recommending the best phone or plan. Her ability to explain products clearly, answer questions patiently, and build trust helped customers feel confident in their decisions. Easy to work with and on line also very easy
There were some glitches getting my service to work at the beginning. I had to call twice to get my phone to work, but the people helping were very nice and figured out the problem. So far my phone service is adequate.
The big advantage with CC is support. They have always helped me no matter how clueless I was about tech. The are patient and stick with you until you are up and running.

Customer service with personable staff exploring the change on one day, and on the next day getting walked through the process of porting over 2 phones, including successful testing is what made the experience great.
A lot of reading to understand how to order and to make sure I got the right phone but then went quickly. Received quickly. Easy to transfer all my info over from my old phone.
The fact that it so much to change providers is out outrageous. I should be able to just tell you the new providers that that is what I want and it be done. The old providers should just release the phone I bought it, its mine. Please make this available to you new customers. I should have to fight tooth and nail to do this.
Consumer cellular is a good provider, PROVIDED, you do not exceed their 50gb limit, if you do, you are screwed, even if you call or message them that you are aware you have exceeded their limit and you are willing to pay extra for more data, they will not allow it, they will ignore you and you are just screwed for the remainder of your billing cycle. You may as well go with another provider that wants your business, because Consumer cellular could care less.
It was easy to order an e-sim card. Instructions were clear and easy.
