What reviewers say

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company, consistently noting the exceptional quality of support. Customers frequently praise the professional, courteous, and patient staff for resolving various computer and technical issues quickly and efficiently. People deeply appreciate the very helpful remote sessions, clear step-by-step explanations, and reliable assistance provided during stressful technical difficulties.
However, some customers also noted issues regarding aggressive product marketing and a complete lack of clear disclosure about software subscription limits prior to purchase. A few reviewers experienced communication delays, mentioning unanswered support requests or unexpected charges for services they never requested or needed.
Auto-generated from all reviews of this business. For reference only.
They sell you a supposed annual subscription to their antivirus, but every month, without warning, they charge you the same amount for nonexistent technical support, which they don't even offer. Canceling the subscription is a nightmare, as they seem to be selling a timeshare. Add to that the poor performance of their software, and this has been my worst software purchase. Avoid disappointment and feeling ripped off.

I'm in technology so I can attest to how mediocre the technology is but beyond that when you leave the platform to move up to a better product - they show what a con game they are running. I canceled my subscription 4 months prior to it auto renewing. Immediately I was bombarded with emails trying to regain renewal of the product. In April of 2025, I noticed a bank charge from the company along with a second charge for a tech help (that's what the call center person id the charge as). I called, it's overseas and the person barely could speak English. It was the most rank run around I've ever experienced. In 11/2024 when I canceled, I also deleted my credit card they had on file. The company renewed my membership in 3/2025...not sure how they accomplished this when the card was deleted. The company flat our refused to reimburse any money, in spite of not being able to explain the "technician" charge that they billed me on the same month that they auto renewed the "CANCELED" account. Mediocre technology and the absolute worst customer service you can imagine. The initial phone call into the company, the lady was friendly enough until I told her I wanted to find out about getting reimbursed....she went into this pathetic excuse of the call cutting out. It was cartoon'ish. Stay away from this company.

Hi Gregg,
Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback — I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I understand how frustrating unexpected charges and a difficult support interaction can be, especially after you believed the account had been canceled.

As others have previously stated, the antispyware comes bundled with livetech that charges you every month for 19.95 USD. Its done in a confusing and scammy way.
i contacted customer services, but they stated that due to company policy they could not issue refunds.
Stay clear!

Hi Børre,
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration around the LiveTech billing. I want to be clear — while I understand it felt confusing, this isn’t a scam. The optional support subscription is included in some bundles and does renew monthly unless canceled during the trial period, but it should be clearly disclosed during the checkout process.
That said, if it wasn’t clear in your case or if something was missed, I’d like the chance to look into it further. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] with your account details, and I’ll personally make sure it’s reviewed again.

I find out that this antivirus software missed detecting a known virus that other reputable antivirus programs easily caught. It was a major security flawa and it made my computer more vulnerable to virus threats.
Absolute Scam Merchants
I purchased 1 year through PayPal for $19.99
In the second month, they took the same amount from PayPal
I raised a dispute & was refunded $0.01
So I'm $19.98 out of pocket
I wanted protection for my smart phone. I followed the adverts that said it could help with that, paid the £20 approx and then it asked me to phone the US to activate??? When I discovered what I’d purchased wouldn’t help me, instead of cancelling and refunding he tried to sell me repeatedly an expensive package. All ‘Adam’ cared about was making the sale, from the get go. Problem is they will only make a bad name for themselves and ruin their company reputation.
Not the same Superantispyware! Beware of "Real Defense."…
I have used this company
"Superantispyware" off and on in the past years. It's a handy program as it scans your PC at night looking for malware and deletes most cookies. I decided to use them again, their site offered 12 months service for $19.95 which is what I was charged a while back. After signing up and paying the $19.95 I noticed that they had started charging me this amount every month. When I called them they said yes it is a different plan now we have a new company that bought us out (Real Defense) who offer you more services that is why we charge you every month! I told them that I did not sign up for this. They refused to refund any money to me, and now I am having to work with my bank to recover the money they took from me.
Jan was polite, professional, very fast, and is easy to understand. He was patient and didn't leave me wondering what was going on. He explained everything for my future use.
Emmanuel was extremely helpful and professional. He walked me through what he was doing so later I could do some of the same things myself. He installed and worked on various systems, as well as cleaned up my starting programs. He was patient and very knowledgeable.
He listen to me very well!! and helped me do it all. its the live tech who we had trouble with not sure who he was. but he was definitely was yelling !!
I have problems my microphone not working and Roy figured out that my USB port was having some issues and with his help we were able to solve the problem
