The tech support was very responsible

The tech support was very responsive and solved my problem in a matter of hours. Also replied to all my questions. Very nice of their side! Congrats.

After waiting for Nebra to deliver…

After waiting for Nebra to deliver since April I decided to get a Sensecap. Eventually I picked up a second one because I liked the idea of an internal fan and a dashboard app, along with availability and shipping timeframe. I will say Sensecap seems to have issues with some firmware releases, but they have been very responsive and helpful when problems arise.

Companies like this give China it's bad reputation.

The type of company that gives China it's bad reputation. Three months to get a defective RF board refunded last year. Ten months wait to receive a product this year, and when it a arrived it didn't function properly. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Order from reputable vendors like Adafruit, SparkFun, and Element 14.

slow to post and hard to contact.

Slowest company to bundle up and put products in the post. 20 days before leaving the factory. Poor communication hard to contact. Their web site is not the easiest to navigate when chasing missing purchases. Slow and poor communicators would be my experience.

I ordered 12 different items from Seeed and they all arrived well packed, in their own individually sealed bags and boxes with technical details and instructions. After placing my order, my postal tracking number disappeared from the website - but the customer services were quick to reply to my email and provide the tracking number. The shipping time was as expected (2 weeks), as it was shipped from China. Good service.

Ordered PCBs with production note that bottom had no solder mask, they arrived with masking on bottom layer, when I complained they tried to scam me into paying more money claiming that immersion gold without mask would cost more, isnt the finish applied irrespective of the fact that there is solder masking or not? no replies now and I cant use the PCB. Avoid at all cost, terrible service and quality

Purchased a 5" 720x1280 hdmi ips lcd…

Purchased a 5" 720x1280 hdmi ips lcd display. Have had it over a month and still not working with any of my video devices. One desktop, One laptop, One Raspberry Pi4 Support is of no help. The device is defective and seeed will not exchange it or refund. What a waste of $50.00.

Very bad support

Their support is awful. I tried to use their piezo sensor to detect when my washing machine had finished, I thought it would be a fun project. Their website states that the sensor is suitable for this, however after testing it out I couldn't get it to detect anything. This is when I decided to contact their support. I asked a couple of simple questions, namely how to use it to detect washing machines and the direction in which to rotate the sensor screw to adjust sensitivity. 5 replies later and they haven't answered either of the questions. I don't believe they can speak english very well and I also believe the support have no idea about how any of the products actually work. Additionally, all of their components require a special 'hat' adapter which costs a lot more than the components individually. You are better off buying them from another provider. Overall, one of the funniest and most frustrating companies I have ever had to contact. I recommend avoiding at all costs.

You won't get parts nor your money back

While they have uniquely useful parts, there is a low chance of receiving them nor getting your money back. Issues: - Courier listed was not the courier they used. This is an issue when some couriers deliver to homes, some to businesses, and some only to post boxes. - Even if you were shipped a product from their "US warehouse", the product is returned to China, and they won't do anything for you until that happens. - Multiple customer service agents mean you get a different answer on the day, but none of them hold. Escalated refund to PayPal and Credit Card, after a month of back and forth. If possible, avoid. If they're the only ones that have something you need, confirm courier of part from warehouse with them in writing, ignoring what the checkout form says.

Shipping Issues and Difficult Site

The Seeed site is difficult to use, links and buttons oftentimes glitch and require a little bit of a hassle to use. The shipping costs are high, and notice of the DHL warehouse shut down was not widely published. Receiving a package in a timely matter was not possible due to the 1-3 day shipping being sent out 2 weeks after order placement. Furthermore, the tracking number included on the package does not work, making it impossible to predict the current location or delivery date on said package. At the end of buisness today, the package will officially be late. The prices of shipping and of the product in relation to the quality of service received seems high. In many regards, this review is most aptly a review of the service of DHL shipping.

The prices on seeedstudio hardware are decent, but the shipping is slow and I was missing parts of my order. Some of their kits are missing pieces.

Avoid at all costs

Do not use this company. They will fail to deliver and you will struggle to get your money back (even if you use Paypal). 20/02/2019: Order placed on 20 day turn around (20/03/2019). 08/03/2019: Contacted CS for update, told components had arrived and PCBA was in production. 19/03/2019: Contacted CS again, received an apology and 10% off next order coupon. 21/03/2019: Contacted CS again, told they were behind on orders and they could not say when they would ship. 21/03/2019: Considering they were already late and I could not get an answer on then the PCBA would actually start, I logged a dispute with Paypal. 22/03/2019: Received email from CS, this time saying that they had a "Customs Problem" with one of my components (even though they said all the components were ready on 08/03/2019). Told that PCBA would take 1 week and given a 25% discount coupon (not a refund of 25%, a coupon for 25% of my order to spend with a company that had already let me down!). 25/03/2019: Query email from a production engineer with pictures (seemed like production had finally been started). Engineer assured me the board would be shipped by Wednesday 27/03/2019. 28/03/2019: Emailed engineer again, got another generic excuse regarding "material supplier sent wrong material". 29/03/2019: Email from Betty assuring me the order was almost finished and would be shipped around Monday 01/04/2019. 02/04/2019: Dispute escalated with Paypal, Seeed had until 12/04/2019 to respond. 10/04/2019: Query email from production engineer with pictures showing my order was still not completed! 12/04/2019: Paypal notification that Seeed had responded to my claim. I do not know what their position is because Paypal does not show me their response. They now have until the 25/04/2019 to resolve. I am left in a position where I do not know what is going to happen? Even if they shipped the order today (they cant because its not completed), I have lost a month of invaluable development time. I cant go to another supplier until I find out if Paypal are going to refund my money. If they do, it wont be until the 25/04/2019 (plus how ever long it will take them to transfer the money). This means I have lost 2 months of development time with Seeed and have no boards. I will then have to wait another month with another supplier, so I will be 3 months behind schedule. Avoid this company at all costs!

The biggest issues with SEEED are (a) …

The biggest issues with SEEED are (a) untimely delivery, and (b) poor customer service. They are never on time. Once I ordered PCB's 6-days express service, and there was no update until 22nd day of placing the order--when they emailed that there would be a delay of another 18 more days in the delivery! So, total 40 days instead of 6 days! Now customer service: They are very poor at communication. Their replies often implied that the customer care representative didn't even attempt to understand your grievance.

Would not recommend for prototyping or …

Would not recommend for prototyping or multiple board orders. I placed an order with 2 different PCBS and was over a week with one finished and the other still processing then I asked to cancel the PCB that was processing and was told it was in production when it was still processing. Sent a few messages back and forth asking to cancel until luckily an error in my gerber showed they weren't in production and was finally able to cancel that pcb. The other issue I have is after you place an order you can not change anything. I asked less than 24 hours after placing my order. I had 1 trace clearly mistakenly placed lower than all the others running in the side of an edge connector instead of top like all the others. Asked to have it moved 1 mil not MM a mil ( no traces are near that area) They say they can't change anything. I searched and several other places do allow atleast minor changes after ordering prototypes.

Great support, beware of shipping

My experience with an order with Seeed Studio was mixed. Their support team was great, but I'd wait till they have a fulfilment partner in Europe before I order again. The problem I had lies entirely with DHL, the shipment company, who made 3 errors. They miscalculated the VAT (likely because they didn't see the correct invoice). I phoned, was wrongly informed, phoned again, made an new delivery appointment. DHL never tried to deliver, but instead returned it to sender. It took about 8-10 emails with Seeed support before everything was settled. In the end, Seeed support send the parcel again with FedEx, doing their best to ensure the customs declaration was on par with all standards. That worked like a charm! So the support of Seeed really, really did their best to deal with the very poor service DHL had, and tried everything in their power to make sure the same issue wouldn't happen again. They partially succeed. For one thing, they could not adjust the customs declaration on the parcel (it did not separately list the shipping costs, like it should), so they mailed me the correct one, I could show to customs myself. That said, I found it a hassle. I'm happy to pay for VAT, and even the €10-€20 handling fee (clearance charge) charged by shipment companies, but having to pay that fee AND solving the poor service by DHL -- no thank you. I'd rather wait till Seeed found me a proper Fulfilment service in the EU, which DOES take care of customs without making errors and without charging a ridiculous fee.
