My experience with Angi's interview process was one of the most disappointing I've had in nearly 25 years of corporate leadership.
The process lasted nearly eight weeks and required a significant investment of time, including multiple interviews, executive conversations, a detailed case study with a large supporting data set, a 15-slide strategic presentation, a formal panel interview, and several follow-up discussions.
I initially withdrew because the compensation did not align with the scope of the role. I was later contacted by recruiting and informed, in writing, that approval had been obtained for a higher compensation range. Based on that communication, I agreed to re-enter the process.
After completing the most demanding portions of the interview process, I was then informed that the maximum salary for the role was actually below the minimum of the compensation range that had convinced me to return.
The process also included a recruiter handoff during a critical stage of preparation, repeated communication delays, missed update commitments, and last-minute interview changes. At one point, after both recruiters stopped responding, I had to contact the hiring manager directly just to receive a status update.
My frustration isn't that I wasn't selected. Companies should hire the candidate they believe is the best fit.
My frustration is that candidates should not be asked to invest this level of time and unpaid work when the company is not internally aligned on compensation, interview sequencing, and communication.
If you're interviewing with Angi, I would strongly encourage you to confirm compensation, understand every interview step, and ask exactly when you'll meet the hiring manager before committing significant time to case studies or presentations.

I scheduled a TV installation through Angi for 11:00 AM on a Wednesday. The appointment was confirmed the day before. It was confirmed again at 9:00 AM the morning of the install — just two hours before the scheduled time. At that point, there was absolutely no indication anything was wrong.
We took the day off work to be home for the installation. By 12:00 PM, no one had shown up. No call. No email. No notification of any kind.
When I logged into the system to check the status and contact the installer, I discovered the appointment had been rescheduled to Sunday without any notice whatsoever. This happened after they had confirmed — just 90 minutes earlier — that the installer would be there.
I called the installer directly. He told me he did not cancel the appointment and had no idea why it was changed. Ironically, although he was listed for Sunday, he also said he wouldn’t even be able to come that day.
When I contacted Angi customer support, all I received were generic apologies. No real explanation. No ownership. No effort to find another installer who could complete the job that same day. Just “we’re sorry.”
Sorry doesn’t compensate for taking time off work and sitting around all day waiting for an appointment that was quietly canceled behind the scenes. This was completely avoidable and shows a serious breakdown in communication and coordination between Angi and its contractors.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend using Angi. They need to drastically improve their communication, internal accountability, and their willingness to actually solve problems when they create them.
