What people say

Incredibly BAD customer service.

Incredibly BAD customer service. If I could, I would give them a -Star. I was unable to open the account online. The system forces you to use a smartphone with no way to override and use a laptop or other device. The phone numbers provided - 800-972-3030 & 866-671-5353 - don't work!! They do NOT allow non-customer access to their system. When you call and choose an option, you get a constant, fast busy signal unless you are already a customer. The bank TEASES you with a sign up bonus of $300. However, it is physically impossible to claim that bonus unless you use a smartphone. Using a smartphone may sound like an easy fix. However, I DO NOT WANT to use a smartphone. I DON'T do my banking on a device I carry in my pocket! Nor, should I be required to. I wish I had read the reviews earlier. I would have saved a LOT of time and aggravation!

Had a lost check issue. Bank stopped payment of lost check and handled replacing with cashier ck. And also mailed it for me as I had just come out of hospital and no time to go to post office as almost closing time. Amazing service . Thank you Fifth Third!!!

Alex is amazing!!I Recently had an outstanding experience at my local Fifth Third Banking Center. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and made to feel like a valued customer. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me with my banking needs rather than rushing me through the process. The banker I worked with took the time to listen carefully, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and explained my options in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt pressured, and I appreciated the patience and attention to detail throughout the entire interaction. What stood out most was the level of customer service. Everyone I encountered was friendly, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything was handled correctly. It's refreshing to receive personalized service from people who truly care about their customers.Overall, my visit exceeded my expectations. The combination of professionalism, efficiency, and excepti

Extremely deceptive and unprofessional…

Extremely deceptive and unprofessional branch handling of a fully cleared, certified corporate check. I deposited an official auto-equity check from AutoNation into my brand-new account layout, and the branch has placed an unprovoked administrative hold on my family's moving and essential survival funds. The funds are fully processed and cleared on AutoNation's end. I physically walked into the local branch and spent my valuable time trying to resolve this face-to-face, and I have called Fifth Third's corporate customer service lines multiple times, but their desk did absolutely nothing to help. The branch staff refuses to perform a simple 2-minute phone verification with the dealership's accounting desk to release the hold. This unprovoked restriction is actively creating severe financial strain, threatening our ability to pay essential bills on time, risking incoming late fees, and actively endangering a local family's critical housing transition. An official federal complaint has been formally logged under active CFPB Case ID: 260630-34849275. Avoid this bank at all costs.

Fifth Third Bank - don’t trust them

I’ve been a “ private banking” customer of this bank since 1982. I discovered that unauthorized $7/month charges were being applied to my checking account for “ID Alert.” I did not sign up for it. I had to spend two hours on the phone trying to explain this while getting passed around to the same departments with no one having authority to address the banks unilateral unauthorized debits of my money. The bank advised that I somehow had signed up for it, which is false. The bank refused to refund $28 in a 45 year banking relationship. I think I will be finding a new bank as they clearly do not value my time or my patronage. I admit my bias, but this is true institutional stupidity on the bank’s part.

Knowledge of banking. & service also how to assist a customer it's enlightening

Fifth Third trains their employees well this shows in the way they handle customers , their friendly manor is so welcoming be proud of your employees i did not know any of these employees before I opened my account researched Fifth Third before opening accounts

Justin Hogeback was very friendly and concerned about a scam by a vendor who, despite my having canceled a subscription months ago, was attempting to sneak in a charge as if I had never canceled. Once I produced documentation showing the date of cancellation, Justin reassured me that all would be good once the 5/3 dispute services received a copy of the document from him. And, that the overdraft fees resulting from the charge would be handled by 5/3. Good professional help---what more could one want from their bank?!
