Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Travelers frequently found the customer service team completely unhelpful, reporting frustratingly long wait times, unresponsiveness, and uncooperative representatives when attempting to resolve urgent booking problems. Many consumers also struggled heavily with rigid refund policies, unexpected hidden fees, and severe discrepancies between their confirmed reservations and actual accommodations upon arrival.
The minority of people were satisfied with the platform, noting competitive prices, reliable cost savings, and successful stays when managing their travel plans carefully. Some reviewers also mentioned receiving prompt assistance and confirmation after contacting direct support channels to verify their hotel details.

We booked a get away to Dale Hill Hotel for two nights and was disappointed by the air conditioning to the swimming pool / Gym was affecting our chilling time really loud We went to reception and they turned it off the first night but the second night refused until 9pm we kept turning up the TV to block out the noise We spoke to the manager on check out and told us he would refund us £37 for the inconvenience But I had to go through Agoda who I had booked with But try getting money from them you keep talking and messaging a BOT I want to speak to a human but how is this possible ? They are good to take your money until there is a problem Come on Agoda give me the money I’m owed
I will never use Agoda again. I booked a hotel online and the deal was ok to cancel up until two days before arrival with no charge until that time. (This was three weeks before the trip) The confirmation from Agoda came back with an immediate charge that said non-refundable! I would NEVER book a deal like that! So I called Agoda and they said too bad for you, can't help you. The associate put me on hold and then cut me off after saying no refund. Unreal. Bait and switch! I'll never use them again.
Agoda appeared cheaper to other booking sites but we later discovered their price did not include city tax or parking charges (which were hidden in their lengthy small print). We had to pay an extra 50 euros on arrival at the hotel. Won't be trusting them again.
Customer service is non existent and once you get through to a human they’re far from helpful. I will be booking with Trip.com from now on as their CS actually respond and are quite competent.
Booked a room with free cancellation benefits. Agoda has issued me a wrong confirmation stating that is non-refundable and refused to amend.
Got confirmation from hotel sowing that my booking is eligible for free cancellation. Agoda replied that its booking partner does not agree and reminds me of 100% penalty for not showing up. Is Agoda threatening me? Who is the booking partner? Why it has right to override the hotel’s confirmation?
Dishonest and fraudulent company. They promised to give me a refund but didn’t do so. They let me book with a fake hotel on their website. Do not book anything with them. Report them to trading standards as they should not be allowed to trade in the U.K.
Agoda has been very efficient in solving some issues with my booked accommodation. I’m so impressed and will definitely be using them again for my next travel . Highly recommended!
First and last time I am using Agoda. Pictures don't really match the real property. I booked a room for 4 adults and I was given 2 single beds. Both property and Agoda did not offer any excuse, but just blaming me when in my booking clearly it was stated 4 adults.
If I could give AGODA zero stars, I would!
They are a dishonest business and extremely lowlife disgusting behaviour
I had an urgent matter to cancel my booking (due to a passing of a loved one) which I often make it through Agoda, and I requested for a cancellation (under the diamond program) and they lied to me saying that their partner hotel were the ones that rejected the booking.
However when I checked it out with the hotel that I booked via email, the hotel said they have no received such request from Agoda.
What a lowlife scum platform Agoda is to try to scam tens of dollars
Don't ever use their service. Call reservation MGM Grand in Las Vegas, instead got Agoba booking service, unknown to me. I ask if this was the hotel reservation for the MGM Grand, Agoba answer yes, which was a lie, also they billed me for $17.99 without telling me that there was a charge for their service. These guys are a ripoff service, don't use them.
AGODA is a bait & switch company belonging to BOOKING.COM. Both their ads & telephone agents lie
Their hotel ad displayed "Less cost than usual"
1) I typed in the dates of our stay & their price clearly showed $146.00 per night plus tax.
2) I clicked on Reserve and the price changed to $176.00 per night.
I called AGODA & the agent said the hotel changed their nightly price.
I know the companies reserve rooms at a cheaper price then offer them to the public.
Never do business with companies with so many BAD reviews. Can all reviewers be wrong ?
Best to reserve directly with the hotel, car rental or holiday. It may cost a wee bit more but no lies, reliable reservation, you get what you expected and knowing the true cost while eliminating erroneous charges.
BAIT SWITCH & UNRELIABLE should be their name.
By the way, I know of no one who ever received a refund for double or unverified charges.
Do yourself a favour and deal directly for all your needs & forget these lying middle men. Now you will enjoy your plans by avoiding disappointments.
The bitterness of disappointments will remain long after the sweetness of low price has been forgotten.
The daily price always changes when at the final booking.
Their pricing system is an absolute joke. As soon as you see the nightly price on the screen and click book. The final price is always more per night (before taxes)Also when booking a room for four nights with breakfast it was
$20 more per night for the stay or $80 but when you click to check out it was $120 more
I am warning other travelers about my Agoda flight payment and refund experience.
I booked a flight through Agoda from Udon Thani (UTH) to Bangkok (DMK).
Booking ID: 1737379134 Passengers: Puncharat Promket Manley and Dennis Lee Manley
I paid Agoda in Thai baht using Agoda’s QR payment process. My bank showed that the payment was deducted from my account. After payment, Agoda’s system created confusion and Agoda initially claimed that payment was not made.
I then spent hours trying to resolve the issue through Agoda support, including automated bots, LINE support, website chat, and email. Agoda’s LINE support was not useful for this flight issue because it directed me away from flight support and back through other Agoda channels.
I provided Agoda with payment screenshots, bank debit evidence, booking information, and support records. Agoda later confirmed in writing that my payment screenshots were received and that the case was escalated for payment verification and refund review.
Because the issue was not resolved in time, I had to book replacement flights elsewhere. I made clear to Agoda that I no longer wanted the rejected booking reinstated and that I wanted refund processing only.
Agoda later stated in writing that the approved refund amount was THB 6,297.73 and that the refund would be processed through Hyperwallet after completion of a refund claim process.
My complaint is simple:
My bank showed the Agoda QR payment was deducted. Agoda initially claimed payment was not made. I spent hours dealing with automated support and repeated follow-ups. I had to purchase replacement flights. Agoda later acknowledged refund processing and stated an approved refund amount.
This review is based on my genuine Agoda booking and refund experience. I am posting this so other travelers understand the risk of using QR payment for Agoda flight bookings and the difficulty of resolving a payment mismatch if Agoda’s system does not immediately recognize the payment.
Travelers should save every screenshot, booking ID, QR payment page, bank debit record, support chat, and email if using Agoda QR payment for flights.
I got crewed by Agoda. I booked a room with kitchen for 10 days, as per their advertisement on their website. When i went to hotel to check in, management said the room i had booked was basic and had no kitchen. I showed them the proof on the Agoda web site, they agreed, but could not help me as it was high season and they were fully booked. I could not walk away and go elsewhere, as it was high season and nothing was available elsewhere. The hotel couldnt do anything, and i complained to Agoda and they wash their hands and wont do anything, or even admit about their misleading false information on the booking.
Misleading booking on the website; I’d booked a room with a pool view but was given a room at the back with a filthy balcony; no help from the hotel or the Agoda agent; this is the last time I’ll book with Agoda
I booked one night hotel Ratana salalah with agoda including breakfast then after days I received email from my booked been transferred fanar hotel next to Rotana hotel.
I sent agoda support email asking them for inconvenience and the price difference upgrade me with half board.
My letter was simple and polite I received replay with an hour the accepted my demands and the will return £10 to me.
So I what to other people to understand when you have a problem with your booking write polite and be reasonable for your demand for you will get more then you deserved
Beware! Agoda misleadingly booked a room for 4 as a 2-guest room, causing heavy extra charges at check-in.I am writing this to warn fellow…
I am writing this to warn fellow travelers about a massive flaw and deceptive booking practice on Agoda.
I booked a "Suite Room" at Hotel Aadrika, Chikmagalur, specifically entering my family details as 3 adults and 1 child (12 years old). The platform explicitly showed a picture of an interconnected suite room with two cots across two rooms. Relying completely on this, I made the full payment.
However, Agoda’s system failed miserably. While they took the money for 4 guests, the final hotel confirmation voucher they generated silently changed the guest count to only 2 guests.
Upon reaching the hotel after a long journey, the management refused to let us check in. They informed us that the hotel has no interconnected rooms and their strict policy allows a maximum of only two guests per room. I immediately contacted Agoda Customer Care, but they completely failed to resolve the issue or coordinate with the hotel.
To avoid being stranded with my family, I was forced to pay an additional ₹4,050 out of my own pocket for an extra room.
Please double-check your vouchers immediately after booking with Agoda, or better yet, book directly with hotels. Agoda’s platform showed wrong room pictures, accepted details for 4 guests, but booked for 2, leaving us to suffer the financial and mental harassment at the desk. Highly disappointed. False Advertisement and False Narrative From Agoda
I am filing this complaint against Agoda regarding booking number 2009900405. Agoda has engaged in deceptive practices, misleading promotions and unfair billing around my reservation at Stay Hotel in Bangkok for 9–10 May.
During the booking process for the 9–10 May stay, the price clearly shown on Agoda was THB 1,247, including taxes and breakfast. However, after completing the reservation, the final amount charged to me was THB 1,446. This unexplained difference of approximately THB 200 is a clear example of a bait‑and‑switch tactic, where the price displayed at the time of booking is not the price ultimately charged.
Agoda promoted this booking with messages such as “last minute price drop,” “birthday sale discount” and a “20% app coupon,” creating the impression that I was receiving a special discounted rate. In reality, competitors were offering better prices without these so‑called discounts. Priceline, even as a guest member, offered the same room for around THB 1,387, Expedia listed it for about USD 41, and Klook for around THB 1,390, all cheaper than Agoda’s supposedly discounted price. These marketing claims by Agoda are therefore misleading.
Agoda also advertised “free breakfast” and “free amenities” for this booking. In practice, these items were part of the room package and paid by me as part of the total cost. Presenting these as “free” benefits is dishonest and misleads customers into believing they are receiving additional value at no cost when they are not.
From my experience and from what many other travelers have reported, this does not appear to be an isolated case. For example, in Vietnam, numerous travelers have shared that they were shown a price of about 200,000 VND on Agoda, only to be charged around 400,000 VND upon arrival, often for short‑stay rooms instead of full‑day bookings. Agoda’s platform and practices appear to enable and amplify such misleading pricing and room type representations across different countries.
These tactics waste customers’ time, erode trust and cause direct financial loss. I provided Agoda’s customer service with screenshots and clear evidence of the price discrepancy, as well as the misleading “discount” and “free” claims. Despite this, Agoda failed to properly acknowledge the discrepancy or offer a fair resolution, and their support has been unhelpful and dismissive.
I request that Agoda refund the overcharged amount for my 9–10 May booking in full and formally acknowledge the deceptive advertising involved in this case. I also expect Agoda to stop misleading customers with fake discounts, artificial “last minute” or “birthday” sales and false “free” benefits, and to present transparent pricing that is honestly competitive with other platforms.
Agoda’s behavior in this matter amounts to false advertising, misrepresentation and consumer fraud. I am submitting this complaint to the Better Business Bureau to hold Agoda accountable and to help protect other customers from being misled in the same way.
