What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently encounter frustrating issues with battery life and sudden failures, leaving expensive outdoor equipment completely unusable after a short time. Consumers often describe customer support as unhelpful and rude, mentioning major difficulties in reaching effective resolutions or getting legitimate warranty claims honored.
Some reviewers were happy with the powerful performance, quiet operation, and clean design of their tools when they functioned properly. A few customers also reported smooth warranty replacements or found specific equipment ideal for tackling regular yard work tasks. However, reviewers frequently noted that parts wear out quickly and repair centers take excessive time to process equipment.

I called asking about their policy in…
I called asking about their policy in replacing out of the box broken mowers. The girl was rude, smart mouthed, said there was a procedure in place that could take months. I asked her who was going to mow my lawm. She told me to buy another mower. I asked about a new mower and again she mentioned procedure and months!

Bought 21" push mower 2 years 9 months…broke with Worst Customer Service Experience
Bought 21" push mower 2 years 9 months ago. Stopped working. Warranty covers three years. I called their customer service number last week and mentioned problems. They never mentioned it is still under warranty. I thought warranty was only for one year...so that's my mistake. I had to drive 1.5 hours to nearest authorized service center. They are the ones who told me it's under warranty. I called EGO customer service from service location and they then agreed it's under warranty and said I had to share my receipt. I already uploaded the receipt to register the product when bought. EGO made me drive 2 hours back home (traffic) where I contacted EGO again., They sent me emails to attach receipt. It took them 3 emails to confirm receipt. EGO customer service employees speak heavy Spanish and it's difficult communicating. I don't fault the employees...I fault EGO. They cheap out on the customer service...one of worst I've had in 40+ years, then they try and milk the receipt so they don't have to cover warranty. I own three EGO products. I will never buy them again based solely on their extremely poor service. Apart from the fact that their $590 mower craped out 2 years and 9 months into ownership...I'm sure now product is designed to fail shortly after warranty, like so many other terrible companies. Never EGO again!

Bought New Through Amazon. Warranty Denied.
I chose EGO because of its reputation as a premium outdoor power equipment brand. Around March 2024, I invested in the EGO battery platform by purchasing a blower, mower, string trimmer, edger, batteries, and accessories.
Unfortunately, my LB7650 blower failed completely after just over two years of normal residential use.
When I contacted EGO, I expected warranty support because the blower was a genuine EGO product, purchased brand new through Amazon at full retail price. Instead, my claim was denied because the Amazon marketplace seller associated with my purchase was apparently not one of EGO's authorized retailers.
As a consumer, I had no reasonable way of knowing that when I made the purchase. The product was purchased through what appeared to be the official EGO listing on Amazon, arrived brand new in the original packaging, and nothing during the purchasing process suggested that a genuine, new product might not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty because of the marketplace seller.
What disappointed me most was not just the warranty decision, but the complete lack of customer care afterward. I provided proof of purchase, completed all requested troubleshooting, exchanged multiple emails, spoke with customer service after my case was escalated, and even gave EGO additional time to reconsider. No goodwill repair, replacement, discount, or other accommodation was offered.
My advice to prospective buyers is simple: **if you purchase EGO products through Amazon, verify that the seller is an authorized EGO retailer before completing your purchase.** Otherwise, you may discover that a genuine, brand-new product is not eligible for manufacturer warranty coverage.
I expected better from a company that markets itself as a premium brand.

Worst trash company I’ve ever seen
Worst trash company I’ve ever seen. I literally had a mower for 2 weeks did nothing to it other than use it. A wheel broke. They shipped me a new one but never gave me the return slip to send it back so they basically left their trash with me. And I can’t dispose of it easily.. I emailed them and called them several times to rectify it and send me a return label for shipping and how to do it and they never did. So I told them I will write a bad review anywhere I possibly can every day for the foreseeable future. Get your shit together. lol

I bought an ego grass trimmer with battery and the battery died after two years. It is warranty for three years. I registered the products when I bought them. I called customer service. They requested a receipt of everything emailed to them. I did this. They sent me a notice telling me it was under warranty. And that’s the last I heard from them. I tried calling them again. They want to go through the whole troubleshooting routine with me all over again. I told them I’ve already been through all this and just to look up the information, the customer service lady hung up on me.

The battery would not work; I registered it with the warranty. They told me we will not holdup replacement because it was not purchased through an authorized dealer. I purchased it brand new.

Batteries are Junk
The battery for my mower died after two years. Okay, no problem, they have a three year warranty! I called customer service and they talked me through troubleshooting the battery. Once they decided the battery was "defective" (their words), they wanted me to contact Lowe's to find the receipt and forward that to them. Supposedly, all this information was captured in an email, which I never received. No doubt when I call to mention this, I'll be directed to another email and a spiral of deflection will begin. JUNK!!
I bought an Ego strimmer. My experience is that although the device is good, the batteries are unreliable. This matches other users who have posted online. The after sales service is poor.
Most recently, a battery that was replaced after the first failed, also gave up after two and a half years. A solid state item that is used half a dozen times! And it's cost of replacement is £120.
They have a three year warranty, but start counting with the first purchase. Also no response to email.
Frankly I could have had a gardener do it for me. Anyway, from now on its Chinese knockoff batteries for me at a third of the price.
Way to go Ego!

EGO 5 year warranty not a 5 year warranty.
My wife bought me an EGO 18" chainsaw online from Lowes for Christmas in December 2021, and the chainsaw was shipped to us directly from EGO on the east coast. At 82 years old, I rarely used the chainsaw before the motor simply stopped working a few weeks ago. The chainsaw has an advertised "5 Year" warranty, so I phoned and emailed EGO customer service and EGO corporate - multiple times hoping to just get authority to have the chainsaw checked at a repair shop of EGO's choosing. At their request, I submitted photos of the saw, the original box, and the shipping labels which contained all of the relevant information the EGO representatives had requested, however the representatives then said they could not recognize their "5 Year" warranty without an original receipt which we no longer have. Lowes, EGO, and our credit card company, Citi Visa, all say they can only recover receipts going back a maximum of four years, so EGO's "5 Year" warranty turns out to be a four year warranty and we are apparently just out of luck. To make matters worse, I have been promised a callback from and EGO supervisors three different times, but have not received a single callback.

Bought a new $376.00 trimmer from…
Bought a new $376.00 trimmer from Lowe’s. It broke after 33 days. Lowe’s wouldn’t take it back because it was past 30 days. They gave me EGO’s customer service number.
I called and they took my info, asked what happened, I told them, and they said I would be getting a replacement in 5 to 7 business days. All the gentleman told me was to send it back in the box the new trimmer was coming in.
Two weeks pass and nothing. I called them back, asked when I was getting my replacement trimmer and that’s when it started. Oh sir, we need the receipt, you have to send it back to us first.
Now, on my end, I don’t have the receipt. I have the charge on my credit card which is good enough.
My problem with this is I had already talked to them. I was told I would be getting a new trimmer, no red tape, just return the broken one to us.
On my phone call today, was quite the contrary. Now, I have to do all the legwork, to prove to them where and when I bought it. Return the bad one first.
Before the foreign gentlemen went into his explanation, I stopped him and just asked if they were replacing the trimmer and he wouldn’t give me an answer.
NO MORE EGO FOR ME!!!

I bought a new leaf blower on eBay
I bought a new leaf blower on eBay, and it lasted 10 minutes before it quit. I called the GEO repair number to have it replaced or repaired. They would not honor their warranty because they claim the vendor is not an authorized vendor. I was asked for the purchase papers and the serial number of the leaf blower, battery, and charger. It seemed reasonable that the manufacturer would honor their warranty since it was brand new, never used.

Imagine buying once again because you…
Imagine buying once again because you are stuck in the EGO battery system that only works with EGOs. Now you find that circuit boards that make the self-propelled feature fail and not only will you not get a timely repair under warranty, you will never get a part to fix the self propelled part even if you are good at soldering.
Now i have a simple metal washer disk that if not balanced will make the mower shit itself off. And when you get backordered you are just f’d and cant use the device that could cost as much as $5000. EGO has no solution and this is in part why Home Depot kicked them out. EGO has completely inadequate support for their own service that they make people at Westlake Hardware and retail sellers carry the weight of the company’s pathetic failures.

Customer service needs improvement
This review is regarding Ego customer service. We recently bought all new ego tools (mower, pruner, weed whacker and a blower) because a tree came down and crushed everything in our sheds. Took the weed whacker out of the box (first use) and it wasn’t operating properly. The head wasn’t dispensing the string properly. We were on the phone with customer service for 40 minutes, but that wasn’t enough. The trouble shooting process literally involved taking the tool apart; which we did, but the trouble shooting process continued on… I asked how much longer it would take, but the fellow helping us wasn’t able to answer. We have to call back when we have an hour?? to spare. I think it’s reasonable to expect a brand new tool to work, without investing so much time and effort with customer service. Unfortunately, the time to return to the store had passed.
We are pleased with the mower and the blower.

If I could rate this zero stars I would. I’ve had this lawn mower for 1.5 years and they’ve sent me 3 batteries that keep dying. I watched the circuit board fry my last battery that was a week old with a full charge. Put it in the lawn mower and it went black. Called customer service to send me a new mower under warranty and they want to replace the battery! Refuse to refund me or send me a new lawn mower. I don’t recommend their products to anyone.

When you register, add your receipt!
(Updated review)
Our PowerHead trimmer broke but was under warranty. Even though it was registered, that wasn't enough - they require original receipt. Why let users "register", only to find years later that the original receipt is required for the warranty to be effective? Anyhow, I managed to find what appeared to be the receipt copied into Word on my PC. That was rejected too. So we checked Ace Hardware online, and amazingly, the 3 year old receipt was still available. I sent it in and got mail that it was accepted, but no further word. I replied and got an automatic email that my case had been closed. So I called again. Found that they did in fact send me a new trimmer (not received yet). So, I raised this review from 1 to 3 stars.
On the whole, our experience with EGO has been pretty good. We are kind of EGO-maniacs (2 chain saws, 3 string trimmers, multi-head with pole saw + hedge trimmer + tiller + scythe, blower, and several batteries). We previously had them replace a battery that failed. Moral of the story: REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT AND SEND IN A PICTURE OF YOUR ORIGINAL RECEIPT!
