What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently encounter frustrating issues with battery life and sudden failures, leaving expensive outdoor equipment completely unusable after a short time. Consumers often describe customer support as unhelpful and rude, mentioning major difficulties in reaching effective resolutions or getting legitimate warranty claims honored. Some reviewers were happy with the powerful performance, quiet operation, and clean design of their tools when they functioned properly. A few customers also reported smooth warranty replacements or found specific equipment ideal for tackling regular yard work tasks. However, reviewers frequently noted that parts wear out quickly and repair centers take excessive time to process equipment.

worst customer service imaginable

worst customer service imaginable. Kept me on hold for ten minutes when all I had was a simple question on how to buy a two-dollar part. Then the man, Joseph, whose English was barely comprehensible, told me he would email me a parts link in five minutes. It never arrived. When I called back, I got the same idiot, so I just hung up. Horrible customer service.

I recently purchased EGO snow shovel

I recently purchased EGO snow shovel. after 10 minutes of using it a stick got caught in it. After following the customer service instructions a was able to remove the object. The process took about 40 minutes. When I resumed using the shovel in 2 to 3 inches of snow it did not perform as when I first started. I reach out to customer service and received a letter explaining it was user error and they basically felt that no support should be offered. Ego is own by the Chinese manufacture Chevron. Now I own $400.00 shovel that does not perform all because of 2in stick. Buyer beware of this delicate product. Buy American!

Don't buy an Ego mower if you care about service

I have had two ego mowers in two years. Both had the self propel go out. First in three months, second in ten months. First they replaced under warranty. Second ego had the worst coustmer service. They were telling not under warranty with out knowing what was wrong. Then you don't have a receipt we won't even look at it, even though registered. I produced receipt they finally let me take it. It took 30 days to be told they won't cover my 10 month Ego mower with supposed 5 year warranty. Had my Ryobi mower for 3 years no problem gave to kid to get ego bad mistake.

Tough little chainsaw

I purchased the EGO battery power chain saw. It has been a great light weight saw. The battery held up 2 hours before recharging. Cuts smooth and it’s not loud like my gas chainsaw. Since we went through an ice storm this year. I had so many broken tree limbs in my yard. This saw has been great with its performance. I would definitely buy the EGO battery power tools again!!!!!

3 EGO products - Extremely Poor Quality Product - Battery Failures -

I purchased 3 EGO products, Mower, Trimmer and Blower, plus 3 batteries. Total cost over $3000 in Australia. The worst decision of my life. The battery capacity dropped off considerably after 2 1/2 years and the moment the 3 year battery warranty expired, the batteries started totally failing one by one. I contacted EGO and discussed, that I had purchased what I thought was a premium quality product and as such was reasonably happy to have paid a premium price. It is fair and reasonable to expect the EGO batteries to last more than a couple of years before significant performance deterioration as EGO promotes their battery life as 6 to 7 years under normal use. EGO said they were aware of some battery problems, but were not prepared to enter into discussion with my circumstances.

Hands-down the worst Customer Service…

Hands-down the worst Customer Service experience I’ve ever had! It’s bad enough the product breaks down within a year but then they send you a new email every day asking you a question then every other day they ask you the same question they’ve already asked you and ask you to reply again they tell you the serial numbers are wrong even if you send them a photograph of them. They are absolute and complete frauds and idiots. Don’t buy their junk product.

EGO model LM2142SP

I purchased my EGO model LM2142SP in May of 2022 at Lowes online as they did not have any stock in the store. It came with two 5 amp batteries instead of the one 10 amp battery. It also came with a one blade with no option to install the two blade setup to improve mulching. The mower also has a persistent problem of the rear wheels locking up, even when the power is off (I seldom use the self propel option). Customer Service tells me that this a safety feature which I don't believe. The past two seasons I have encountered the problem of the mower blades not stopping when the bailor handle was released (blades only slowed down). Only after filing for warranty work (twice) did they replace the power head. The mower does an adequate job mowing except for mulching and the batteries last for my 1/3 acre yard. I just believe my model was a poor product by EGO as I have never seen another EGO mower with two 5 amp batteries. This review is long overdue !

EGO Service is less than second rate.

I purchased a EGO two stage snow blower about 3 years ago. The thing works great when it works. The batteries run low very quickly so EGO might think about including 10amp batteries with the blower. Recently I had a chunk of Ice Jam the rear impeller which rendered the Motor/Gear box useless. I purchased the snowblower at Lowes who could do nothing but inform me I had to deal with the manufacturer and most likely need to bring it to an EGO repair which in my case is 1.75 hours away. Thanks Lowes. I called EGO customer service and was given a repair case number. That was over a month ago. Since then I have talked to customer service with at least one discussion indicating they had no record of my case number. A few email with EGO have resulted in no resolutions. I have even offered to simply have them send the new part and I would repair the snowblower myself. Its not rocket science. Nothing from EGO. Bottom line---EGO customer service sucks. If you ever have a problem, plan on frustration.

My sons bought me a EZ Snowblower 4…

My sons bought me a EZ Snowblower 4 years ago, it has a 56-volt battery and 7.5 AH. It performed well for 3 years. Year 4 I began having issues and it was diagnosed as a battery problem and was told I need new batteries! I researched the batteries, and the best price was $800.00 for two new ones. I then noticed I could purchase a new machine, 2 new batteries and a charger for $750.00. That makes no sense that a brand-new unit with all the accessories costs less than 2 new batteries. I called customer service and was told "I can't help you with that do you have any other questions"! Never again will I buy EGO products. What a rip off!!!!

EGO is a no go…

Seems I have the same problem as everyone else. Bad battery after 8 months, nightmare to get replaced. Very aggravating and frustrating. A year and a half, my chainsaw quit working. They tried to aggravate me to the point of giving up. Ask the same questions repeatedly, nonsense like was the saw fully assembled, how well built is the shop my tools are stored in, am I using a compatible battery, just total nonsense. Then she informed me there will be a 50 dollar deposit to leave it at the repair shop. Twilight zone stuff here. Why would anyone leave a 400 dollar battery, a charger, and the tool, but worry about 50 bucks? The battery alone should be plenty of deposit. This company is pure garbage. Very short lived products. If you enjoy a good exercise in futility, this is the company for you.

Everything works great when it works

Everything works great when it works. Batteries go red after 1 minute of snow blowing, have to take out, let rest like 2 minutes, put back in, and maybe get another 1 minute of snow blowing. For the price point of replacement batteries, I'll just sell my tools and go back to gas equipment. I always knew electric would be a waste of money but thought why not for a 3 battery warranty at the time. Stay far away until electric technology gets better and most importantly cheaper. I'm not spending $10,000 every 5 years in New batteries when gas will last 50 years if well maintained.

EGO product warranty is a LIE

I purchased the Hedge trimmer HT6500E on Feb. 2021. I found the blades of the trimmer quite a bit loose and a bit swing up and down but the tool still working. I checked the problem was caused by the broken clamp plate- the long metal plate where the blades bolted on and sliding along. I took it back to the retailer and claim for the warranty repair(5 year warranty). After a few days, the retailer called me back that EGO rejected the claim and said that it is a normal wear due to usage. My point is the clamp plate is not a moving part. Its purpose is to keep the blades contact closely and moving along the same surface consistently. There is no wearing on it and suppose to be last as long as the tool. The snap of it is due to metal fatigue but EGO unwilling to get it repair even it is under warranty. I will never purchase another EGO product.

Avoid EGO Power+ Tools

Avoid EGO Power+ Tools – Unreliable Batteries and Terrible Support I switched from petrol to EGO battery tools, thinking it would be a great upgrade. Huge mistake. I'm now on my third battery – they don't degrade slowly, they just suddenly die without warning, bricking all your equipment. The warranty replacement process is a nightmare: 4–6 weeks of waiting, during which everything is unusable because it all relies on the same expensive batteries. At $500–$600 each, buying a backup isn't realistic for most people. If you're considering switching to battery-powered garden tools, do NOT choose EGO. It's an overpriced, unreliable system that leaves you frustrated and with a jungle for a yard.

poor customer service, warranty is a joke

As other customers mentioned here, their customer service is very poor and they do not fulfill their warranty commitments. Expensive products with no support and warranty!
