These hinges hold up to welding
I used the 4'x4'x hinges to enable me to build custom hinges that are deeper than regular. I was able to weld a 1" extension on them to allow a shop entry door to swing flat against the inside wall. I didn't want to buy bigger hinges 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and require a lot of chisel work on the door and casing. The hinges took the heat of MIG welding with no warping. The now 4" x 5" hinges painted matte black look factory made and fixed my short-swinging door. Nice heavy-made hinges guys, much appreciated.

The screws I ordered were supposed to be for hinges, but they’re deck screws and won’t work.

Elizabeth, we do not sell deck screws. The screws you ordered are considered extra long hinge screws and are designed to drive the screw into the door jamb. Item as described, unable to use for my application, tensioning of the closer is highly dependent upon ability to access the device. Which depends on your door hinge configuration. Perhaps in another application it will work better but not on an Anderson French door.
