From Overwhelmed to Confident: My Kaplan Bar Prep Experience

I took the February 2026 bar exam after graduating from law school and felt extremely overwhelmed and anxious about the studying process. I chose Kaplan because I had previously used it for LSAT prep and had great success, so I trusted the program going into bar prep. One thing that stood out to me early on was the level of support -- I remember Brad, who introduced me to the program while I was still in school, being incredibly attentive and always willing to answer my questions. The Kaplan bar prep program really helped me overcome my fear of the MBE and manage the stress of timing. The volume and quality of practice questions were tremendously valuable, as they exposed me to the structure and patterns of MBE questions, as well as the MEE and MPT formats. Along with the MBE practice, I found the MEE library to be one of the best tools for studying. Practicing with over 100 past real exam essays significantly boosted my confidence and helped me recognize recurring issues and how to approach them efficiently. I also found the AI essay grader to be a standout feature -- it provided immediate, detailed feedback and clear guidance on how to improve my performance. By the end of the program, I had completed over 3,000 practice MBE questions and 100 essays. That level of consistent practice made a huge difference and allowed me to walk into the exam feeling prepared and confident in my approach. I am very glad I chose Kaplan for my bar prep journey and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a structured, comprehensive program that truly prepares you for exam day!

The things that made my experience... worthwhile

The things that made my experience great was the online teaching lessons, quizzes and tests. The helpful part of all three online materials was that the instructions were clear. I felt that the material accurately simulated the test material.

Engaging and Helpful Course

Engaging and helpful course. Only concern-- it didn't cover the writing segment of the ACT, but my score improved dramatically in Math, English, Science, and Reading. Kind and helpful teachers!

My experience was good

My experience was good. Kaplan trains me to face hard questions, it boosted my confidence. However, some reviews/Topic remediations are copied and pasted from Chart ai which makes it difficult to look for a particular answer when there is a lot of information. Remediations need to be customized to a particular question and thoroughly explained. Otherwise I owe my success to the resource. Thank you.

Kaplan's Bar Prep

Kaplan's Bar Prep - February 2026. Kaplan's library of MEEs and MPTs is extensive and a great resource. Their library of multiple choice questions was also very helpful and I felt they were similar to NCBE questions. The sample answers and explanatory answers were also very clear and helpful (most of the time). However, the course is fairly outdated - meaning that you cannot highlight any of the text whether in MBE, MPT, or MEEs. You cannot save or make flashcards from the platform, like inside of an MBE question. The review videos are merely a lecturer reading/reviewing an outline. This does not really cater to my learning style, as I would prefer more interactive examples, animations, more visual queues to help with memorization. I did find their calendar helpful and I felt like they did not give me too much to do each day. However, I required more practice than what is recommended. Overall, I am grateful for their resources but I do think that the platform could be updated.

Extremely disappointing experience with…Kaplan (READ)

Extremely disappointing experience with Kaplan SAT tutoring. Our tutor abruptly changed the schedule just days before my daughter’s SAT, then suggested a 30‑minute session — something that offers no academic value and felt more like an attempt to burn through prepaid hours than to support her success. This showed a real lack of professionalism and reliability. Kaplan advertises itself as a top-tier test prep company, but the service didn’t match the marketing. Customer support was equally frustrating: multiple layers of representatives, no one empowered to fix anything, and constant “someone will call you back in 24–48 hours” delays — completely unacceptable when time-sensitive SAT prep is involved. For $125 per hour, I expected far better communication, consistency, and student-focused support. Based on this experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere for SAT tutoring.

The reviews are great. Some of the on-boarding organization can be better but the profs are great and the review is really helpful. I've done it on person and I've done it online and both are amazing courses
