We implemented Paycom with the expectation that it would save time and reduce payroll-related costs. In practice, it delivered the opposite. The system is unnecessarily complex and over-engineered for standard payroll functions, which resulted in increased administrative effort, confusion, and higher costs. Despite being quoted based on a weekly payroll assumption, the agreement itself did not clearly restrict payroll frequency, yet even basic operational changes required far more effort than anticipated. The overall experience made routine payroll processing more difficult rather than more efficient. For comparison, after switching to another provider offering comparable features and services, we were able to run payroll quickly and intuitively with minimal setup. That contrast highlighted how cumbersome Paycom’s platform was for our needs. Paycom may be suitable for organizations with large internal payroll teams and highly complex requirements, but for small to mid-sized companies seeking efficiency and clarity, it was not a good fit.

Requirements to using Paycom
Upon TRYING to set up Paycom for a new employer I was informed that they can't use my email because I used it for a previous employer. Which means I have to set up a new email address which I will never use or look at, it will fill up with spam that I'll never read or delete. All of which will inflate Paycom's claim of providing lots of people with service as more and more people have to establish multiple email addresses because they can't use just the one email address that they need.

Stay away from paycom if you are a small business. It is full of hidden fees and the sales reps are dishonest. Unfortunately for me wound up in a 3 year contract.. according to paycom it would cost me $35000 to terminate service. Watch out!!! Stay away!!! Not to mention I Did some research and they laid off 500 employees. Honestly can't tell when I work with people there if they actually are human beings. Check reviews on other sites lots of good insights on Reddit Don't get stuck for 3 years like me on a platform that is overpriced.

extremely expensive, does not inform you properly
They are extremely expensive, and not meant for a small business. I asked for a one year contract and was locked into a three-year contract. At the time of canceling, they would not let me know what my fees would be until after I canceled. It was $10,000. I don’t even make that much in my business a month. Every time I try to call my specialized rep, they never answer and I always get an assistant who has no idea what’s going on. I would not recommend them to anyone.
