I've been with People's Trust for many years. Every year rates have been climbing. BUT now my $2300 policy is going to cost over $3500!!! Really, that's how you treat a loyal customer with NO claims... Sooooooooo, bye bye! No need to respond...
We appreciate your feedback, Brenda. We will also take the opprtunity to respond because so many Floridians are experiencing increases in their home insurance premiums and don't understand why it's happening. Many pricing factors are outside of policyholders' control. Some of the main contributors to industry-wide price increases in Florida include frequent and extreme weather events and catastrophes. As we head into the sixth straight above-average hurricane season, insurers like People’s Trust are spending more to clean up damage from hurricanes and floods. And as the likelihood of claims from these events increases, so does the cost of insurance. Rate hikes aren’t just felt by policyholders either. Insurance companies are paying higher reinsurance costs.

So far so good. We are hoping reports that you will raise rates is not true. Otherwise our rating may go down and we’ll be shopping. But, not bad so far, yet we haven’t had any HO claims in forever. We’ll see what happens.

I’ve been with you almost 12 months and your not going to renew me??? I had no claims in the past 5 years and I pay my bill on time every time. Very dissatisfied. No explanation why. Poor customer service and no communication with your insurance company and the customer. You should think about how you handle customers if you ever want them to return. Heads up if you choose this company as a provider. You can sign up, get service, pay your bills, but at the end of your first year don’t be surprised if they force you to look for another insurance company when they non renew you. Still don’t know why .... This was my experience and opinion. Thank you.

Policies may be non-renewed for a variety of reasons. Some properties, for example, no longer meet underwriting guidelines or may be in an area we no longer service. Brought my Insurance up from 5K to almost 11K. Had several problems over the years, very hard to talk to them. We are furious. Oh, the house was completely remodeled and it's in great shape. We know other clients of People's Trust having the same issue. Run away from this Insurance.

Unfortunately, as the overall likelihood of claims increases in Florida, so does the cost of insurance--even if your house is in great shape. Many factors affect premiums, such as the frequency of extreme weather events and catastrophes (like hurricanes); trends that show specific areas have become more prone to damage from extreme weather events; and inflation, costing insurers more to repair or replace belongings. Insurers must take all these factors into consideration when calculating premiums.
Nothing to review.. like most insurance companies you don’t know how they are until you put in a claim in and see how they operate. Unfortunately there are no claims at this time.

We started with Peoples last fall. So far our experience has been pretty good. We did receive one bill that our agent told us was a result of crossed wires, and we should ignore, so that only issue was resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. We are pleased with the price. The agency and the inspector have been pleasant to work with. We hope we don’t need to call on them, but expect they will be there if we do.

Too many letters sent to me that I did not have insurance I ended up paying it more than once before you guys got it right and so finally sent me a policy and a my refund was like a left-handed know ing what the right hand was doing ang the right hand doesn’t know what their right foot was doing
