Don't trust them. Quoted one price, I agreed, and then the price rose. I agreed again, and the agent told me I was pre-approved. I signed the insurance application, but then didn't have the option to pay. I kept checking over the next few days and the status said that my insurance was still being reviewed, even though the agent said that I was definitely approved. Then when it was finally approved, the price went up again and I had this message: "I understand I had an option of a lower first payment amount based on younger insurance age which was valid until 3/29/2025. I agree to make the first payment based on my current insurance age." Except that there was no way for me to make a payment on 3/29 since they had held up the approval. update: when I complained, they explained that it's b/c i passed my half birthday, and reverted to the 2nd price quoted

Double the Price, Half the Trust

I recently used Policygenius to get life insurance quotes, and I was initially impressed with how easy the process seemed. They quoted me $30 a month, which sounded reasonable, so I moved forward and provided all my personal and private information—everything from my health history to financial details. My wife did the same, and we were both quoted $30. But then, after all that effort, the actual insurance company they connected us with, Pacific Life, came back with a final price of $60 each. That’s a 100% increase! Double the cost, and this was after we’d already invested time and shared sensitive info. It feels incredibly unfair to be hit with such a bait-and-switch. I expected transparency, not a surprise hike that left us questioning the whole process. Disappointing, to say the least.

Incredibly helpful and quick response time

Courtney was a huge, HUGE help in getting my complex application filled out. I had a medical event several years ago that was causing my applications to get denied everywhere I applied and I didn't know why. Courtney helped me figure out what was causing the denials and filled out a detailed explanation for the company to help get my application through, and was super positive and helpful throughout the call. Bait and switch - They more than doubled my quote!

After receiving my medical records, Policygenius provided a quote and within two weeks told me my policy had been approved. Yay! Or so I thought... they more than DOUBLED the premium during the underwriting stage. They gave no legitimate explanation other than that due to my medical records they had increased my rate. But they already had my records when they gave me the initial quote! Did they just not read them? I don't appreciate the bait and switch. Bonus, from start to disappointing finish, the process took 9 months because no one at Policygenius could access the medical records I authorized them to access from a single provider. Complete waste of time!
