Sticking with the Playbook

Out of the two hours the webinar went, about 40-45 minutes was valuable. He mentioned three strategies that could be used, discussed timing of the PSATs to get Merit scholarships, and offered a few tips on how to obtain other scholarships, which was something I haven't explored yet. Much of the beginning was focused on Dr. Patel's credentials and experience. The last 30+ minutes or so was a huge sales pitch, which I expected, just not as hard, and in as much detail. When it came time to Q&A, people were asking questions in the chat, none of which were addressed because before he answered anything, he spent 10 minutes reading reviews, and then went into pre-determined FAQs, which had nothing to do with the group's questions because they focused primarily on the sales pitch. I had received the free Playbook, which I do feel will be quite helpful as a jumping off point, but noticed that the 5 "Kiss of Death" words he mentioned in the webinar were not anywhere close to the ones in the book (2024). I questioned whether he was actually live, but I do think that the two Customer Service people were in real time, because I did submit a question outside of the chat and received an answer. Overall, I think the webinar/informational sessions could have been half the amount of time. I probably won't be exploring the actual program beyond the practice book.

Not at all happy

I am not at all happy. Tutor assigned constantly reschedules. My daughter has to fit around his schedule and every time she agrees to a time the tutor reschedules again. After rescheduling with the tutor, the tutor then doesn’t attend the meetings. There are different excuses every time. We have contacted the support centre numerous times. We then get a late appointment time. This is not ok. Tutor is unreliable and adds extra stress and pressure to tight schedules and a stressful year. The tutor is pretty inflexible. I do not recommend this service sadly.

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by the tutoring schedule changes. We understand how valuable your time is, especially during such an important academic year, and we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We do want to clarify a few points regarding your concerns. Tutors' availability is clearly displayed on our website before selecting which tutor you would like to work with, allowing families to review each tutor's schedule and choose the tutor whose availability best fits their needs. We also offer a variety of tutors with a broad range of availability to accommodate different scheduling preferences. Additionally, the meeting links are automatically emailed to the email address on file at the time each session is booked, including any rescheduled appointments. Our records indicate that the session was available to join, and there was no issue with the tutor's attendance for that appointment. While we acknowledge that the rescheduling was frustrating, we also want to ensure the circumstances surrounding the missed session are accurately represented. We appreciate your feedback and remain committed to improving the experience for all of our students and families.

Great College Prep 101

I learned a lot from the webinar. Dr. Patel explained really well & I have a clearer picture of College admissions, scholarships & testing here in the US. Both me & my husband earned our Bachelor’s outside the US & we have no clue on what to expect & what to do for our Rising Senior. Thank you, Dr. Patel for sharing your expertise & helping families & students in this journey.

The live webinar was very informative…

The live webinar was very informative and the presentation was very detailed. I learned a lot about scholarship opportunities and how my child can significantly improve tests scores, like the SAT score. Dr. Shaan Patel has the background, the education and experience needed to run and support the program in order to make sure that the students succeed. I would highly recommend to any parent out there that are looking to help their child with their journey through college applications, test scores and scholarships to definitely check Prep Expert.

I attended a webinar introduction for…

I attended a webinar introduction for families. Dr. Patel shared good tips and practical information for families re: scholarships and SAT/ACT prep. The program costs are very reasonable and it seems the program would likely benefit many students. I think the webinar could be condensed into 60min, it went on a little too long with marketing 101 type promos resembling old school "but wait.... we will give you more..." I think it lessens the pitch, but overall, great advice and good program! Appears to be good value for money.

The webinar was great overall

The webinar was great overall. I ended up enrolling my son in Prep Expert. It did feel like it took a while to get to the point sometimes, and for the meeting to get moving with the information we were looking for. The information that was given was great. A lot of parents don't know exactly how the PSAT/SAT/ACT tests work and how to help their kids succeed. I am really looking forward to my son benefiting from the classes. I love that there are real teachers teaching the classes where the students can ask questions.

Mom of a Honor Roll Student

Dr. Patel is brilliant, let me be transparent, I wish I could afford his tutoring for my 16-year-old daughter. She aims to become a pediatric oncologist, dedicated to finding more cures for childhood cancer patients and raising awareness about this devastated disease they took her friend’s life. She delivered her first TED talk at age 13. It would be incredible if she could benefit from Dr. Patel's services. As parents, we wish that companies like his could receive government grants to cover his fees, so her could support students, in their efforts each year achieve their dreams academically. My daughter is 16 years old. She has had all A’s on her report cards since she was in kindergarten never B and she like myself cannot even understand why the SAT is challenging as it is, she took her ACT in May and was devastated to get a 25 she felt she should’ve been able to get a 30 or above so she can go to her dream college but they like forming the questions in a way that often confuse the student and also they don’t give them enough time. She masters every test sheet. She has an a in Honors college biology at 16 years old. She leads study groups for honors biology class and has the top grade in the class and received 100 on her Honors college biology class final and yet it’s still she struggled with the ACT and now she’s concerned about her SAT score this weekend. I did not hire him yesterday to help my daughter ace her SAT this Saturday, only because I don't have the money, as a stay at home Mom, helping my daughter acdamically and more.

The presentation provided updated…

The presentation provided updated information on PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Each test has a function and learning that the PSAT can result in more scholarships is great. On the negative side, I felt pressured to make an immediate decision to purchase services. The price of $2000 to $17000+ is overwhelming. The lower cost is only for immediate response with full payment.

As a perfect scorer on my SAT, i can attest…

Founder Dr. Patel had a perfect score on the SAT as did I. He honestly noticed similar patterns that I noticed. So i can attest, he offers genuine real and useful tips. His intro webinar is useful and informative if you are ready to spend $2,000 for some serious help. But the next day, it says $3,076. I have no way of contacting them about this discrepancy. I dont like the discrepancy or the inability to easily find a email address to inquire about it.
