Consumers generally find the platform very easy to use, appreciating the smooth interface and the straightforward process for connecting students with knowledgeable tutors. Many people highlight that it provides a reliable way to build a teaching business or find great educational support quickly. An Excellent Platform for Independent Tutors!"I have had a wonderful experience working as a teacher on Superprof. The platform gives me complete freedom to set my own hours and choose my rates, which is perfect for my schedule. What I love most is how easy it is to connect with motivated students from all over. The interface is incredibly user-friendly, allowing me to manage my messages and profile seamlessly. Superprof has truly helped me grow my independent teaching business, and I highly recommend it to any educator looking to expand their reach!"
I paid £39 to (I thought) message a piano tutor. Superprof signed me up to a recurring monthly subscription and charged me £120 before I realised! It is really not clear what you're signing up for. BEWARE
Hi, We’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly understand how frustrating this must have been. We never want anyone to feel misled when using our platform. The Student Pass is a subscription that gives access to contact tutors, but we absolutely take your feedback on board about how this was presented. We’re continuously working to improve clarity on our site, and your comments help us do that. Please do get in touch with our team, if you haven't already done so, and we'll be happy to assist in any way that we can. The team is available 9 - 5, Monday to Friday, and can be contacted via email ([email protected]). Kind regards, Superprof
Do not use this service unless you are happy to pay for a reoccurring subscription that is not clear you are being signed into. I’ve only just noticed that I have 2 months worth of £39 charges when I haven’t even used the site after the first week of looking for a tutor. Asked for a refund - been given the standard fob off so I’m now seeking a chargeback from my credit card company. They make it sound like it’s your problem if you don’t realise it’s a reoccurring payment each month when it’s clear by these reviews that it’s not clear. So I don’t recommend any UK person uses this service. I’ll get ready for the standard response back saying “we detail the charges on our webpage…..blah blah blah - but it’s just not clear what you are doing and you are misleading people.
Hello Ian, Thank you for bringing this to our attention here. We regret that you were disappointed with your experience of using our site. We do set out that our Student Pass subscription is required to connect with tutors. As soon as you signed up a confirmation email was sent to you ("Superprof Pass - Request sent, the experience begins!") in which we mention that: "Your Student Pass is automatically renewed after 30 days. It is non-binding and you can suspend it at any time from your dashboard." It sounds like you have already been in contact with our team but they remain on hand to offer any assistance you might require (via email [email protected]) to try and find a suitable solution to this matter. Regards, Superprof
I am very happy with this platform, support team is outstanding, they always there to resolve if there is any issue. I hope, I can get good number of students from this platform.
The concept of Superprof is sound. We used them and were happy to pay the (expensive) £39 subscription. Our tutor was excellent - fantastic local tutor, excellent calibre. Three days after finishing we emailed superprof to cancel future pass subscriptions. They ignored this request, continued to charge for a further 4 months until we realised. We hadn't used the service for four months. Despite giving clear revocation of our authority to bill the credit card, they are refusing a refund as we did not use their dashboard to cancel. We are currently raising a credit card dispute and attempting small court claims. Stay away from Superprof!
Hi Anna, Thank you for sharing your comments with us here. We are sorry to hear that our service and the Student Pass fee were not clear to you at the moment of subscribing. All the information about our fees is available in our Help Centre, Terms and Conditions, and on the payment page, you go through when you subscribe to our service. In our email correspondence and across our site, we make it clear that the Student Pass is a rolling subscription, charged at £39 per month, which you may wish to cancel once you've found your ideal tutor(s) to avoid it renewing automatically and further charges being made in future. In case you feel that our friendly team can offer any additional support about the issues you've reported, please do get in touch, [email protected] and we'll be happy to help you with that. Kind regards, Superprof UK
Absolute con. Like so many others signed up not realising that there is a hidden £39 monthly subscription. Made contact with the tutor who accepted the contact but then did nothing to set up a first meeting. The automated AI response from superprof's hello@ email address says "The £39 Student Pass fee is charged once a tutor accepts your initial lesson request. At that point, the pass is considered activated and the payment cannot be cancelled or refunded, even if the tutor does not organise a lesson afterwards." So it seems that I am expected to pay £39 for the right to email someone who then does not organise a lesson. Not acceptable and not an experience which I would want anyone else to experience.
Hi Ian, Thank you for sharing your review here. To access our platform and connect with tutors, a Student Pass subscription is needed, which costs £39 per month. As detailed on the payment page you passed through when signing up, this subscription grants you full access to our platform, including the ability to contact unlimited tutors and access their contact details. If you have not been able to organise a first lesson with the tutor you reached out to, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience with you. If you would like to discuss this further with our customer support team, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. Kind regards, Superprof
I contacted a tutor through Superprof and was asked to provide my card details. When I entered them, a message appeared stating that I would only be charged if a tutor contacted me. I never received any messages from a tutor or from Superprof, so I assumed no charges would be made. A few months later, I noticed a recurring charge on my credit card and realised that Superprof had been taking monthly payments without sending me a single email, notification, or confirmation. I contacted their support team to request a refund for these unauthorised charges, but I have not received any response.
My Experience with Superprof’s Review System I would like to share my personal experience with Superprof so that other students and parents can make an informed decision. I found a tutor through the Superprof platform. The tutor’s profile displayed a specific hourly rate and stated that the first lesson was free. Although I later agreed to an increased lesson fee, I did not agree to pay for the trial lesson because it was advertised as free on the platform. After the experience, I submitted an honest negative review. Superprof informed me that, following discussions with the tutor, they had decided not to publish my review on the tutor’s profile. What concerns me most is that positive feedback can be published, while a genuine negative experience may be withheld. In my opinion, this prevents prospective students and parents from seeing a complete and balanced picture. A review system should allow both positive and negative experiences to be represented, provided that reviews are factual and respectful. Based on the way my case was handled, I no longer feel confident using Superprof. This post reflects my own experience and the written response I received from the company.
Hi Anne, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. We do encourage students to leave honest reviews about their lessons, whether their experience was positive or negative. At the same time, we believe it is important to consider both the student's and the tutor's account before deciding whether a review can be published. Where there is uncertainty or conflicting information about the events described, we may decide to withhold a review or, where the circumstances become clear, we reserve the right to publish the review if we are satisfied that it accurately reflects the facts. We appreciate your comments, as they help us to review our processes and ensure that our review system remains as fair and balanced as possible for both students and tutors. Kind regards, Superprof
I have been a teacher working through superprof for more than five years. In this time, I have become an "ambassador" and have more than 50 reviews. I have noticed a sharp decrease in student requests in the last year and would appreciate a renewed impulse from the admin to boost visibility in social media and new ideas of how to advertise your platform. This would be very useful. There are many ways to revamp your website and new ideas are very much in need.
Hi Lola, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and, above all, for being a valued member of our tutor community for some years now. We do sometimes notice that lesson enquiries can fluctuate, particularly during holiday periods and at different points in the academic year. That said, we genuinely value your comments and appreciate your suggestions regarding visibility and promotion of the platform. If you would like us to take a closer look at your profile and suggest ways to help optimise its visibility, please feel free to contact our team at [email protected]. We'd be happy to help. Kind regards, Team Superprof
Great platform. I use it as a teacher (Italian language), and as a student (Spanish). You pay upfront as a student, but the average quality of the teachers you can contact is much higher than Preply or others I tried, and you only have to pay the fee for one month, then you can pause it. As a teacher, Superprof doesn't take a cut, so I am able to offer a fee to my student that is not inflated.
We wanted a PE tutor for our daughter for a few cramming sessions before exams. Like others we discovered the £39 subscription on top of fees. Luckily we spotted it on our statements and cancelled but they'd already taken 3 payments including for months AFTER her exams had finished. There is nothing on the home page to explain this and its very underhand. Luckily the tutor was excellent and we have no qualms paying for that. We will be letting local parents know this.
Hi Andrew, Thanks for bringing your experience to our attention here. While it's good to hear that we were able to help you to find the right tutor for your daughter's lessons, we're sorry to hear of your disappointment about the Student Pass fee structure and any inconvenience that this may have caused. We do make it clear on our payments page where you entered your bank details, along with our email correspondence and in the terms of use for the site, that the Student Pass is a £39 non-binding 30-day rolling subscription. We do treat each case individually with care and consideration though, and would be happy to check whether a goodwill gesture on our part would be appropriate in this case. If you haven't already done so, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer care team- via email, [email protected] and we will be able to look into this for you. Kind regards, Superprof
I have received extremely poor service from Superprof. I have been a tutor with Superprof for many years. In the last year I took out Premium membership hoping this would increase the number of students however this has not happened. Also over the last 3 weeks I noticed an error in my personal profile. I have asked Superprof to correct it however 3 weeks later the problem still exists. My main subject is teaching Violin yet Superprof is showing me as “ one of the best Music Theory tutors” and not Violin.
Hi Anna, Thank you for sharing your review with us here. We're sorry to hear that you've been disappointed with your recent experience. We understand how frustrating it must be to find an error on your profile, particularly when it relates to the subject you offer lessons for. We also appreciate your concerns regarding student enquiries and the impact that profile visibility can have on your tutoring activity. We value your long-standing membership of our tutor community and would like the opportunity to look into this further for you. If the issue with your profile is still ongoing, please contact us at [email protected] and a member of our team will be happy to investigate and follow up. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us to identify areas where we can improve both our platform and the support we provide to tutors. Kind regards, Superprof
I just made a tutoring profile and it was so easy and straightforward to set up. I have tried several different websites and this is by far the easiest to set up a tutoring profile on. It's easy to set your rate and include your experience etc. Looking forward to getting started with lessons!
Its basically a complete rip off. OK, £39 to find available tutors in Brighton seemed, well, on the high side but bearable. What they hide is that they charge £39 EVERY MONTH hidden deep in the small print,
Hi Tom, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. To be able to connect to tutors and enquire about a lesson on our platform, you first need to have a Student Pass subscription. The Student Pass is a monthly subscription that costs £39 and gives you access to the platform and allows you to contact teachers on our site and access their personal contact details. It's important to note that the Student Pass is not connected with individual tutors or lessons, rather it is the rate to contact tutors in general through the Superprof platform for a minimum period of 30 days. In case something didn't go according to plan with the tutor that you did connect with though, our customer support team is here to help, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. Regards, Superprof
Superprof is truly second to none in the global tutoring market and deserves more than a 5-star rating. The platform offers outstanding technology, excellent customer support, innovative classroom features, and a reliable payment system that makes teaching and learning seamless. I highly recommend Superprof to any student seeking high-quality tutoring and to any tutor looking for a professional, global platform to grow their teaching career.
Superprof continues to provide me with an excellent, straightforward tutor platform, fast, efficient with excellent communication and support and ... importantly, students that need a tutor, coaching and exam preparation help. They continue to raise their quality bar so it's a pleasure being a part of this.
How they have not yet been court actioned, nor legally corrected for their false advertising and (surely) breaching consumer laws, I'm yet to understand. Alongside that, they distance themselves from ANY human interaction, since all their customer support is AI generated and there's no route whatsoever to a real person. There is absolutely no warning for the £39 charge, which is a subscription (not mentioned either), and the irony is they email you (& text) once you've drafted a message to say there's "No charges" 'unless the tutor accepts your request', which they state in small print. Many online companies like this which are devoid of any moral regard whatsoever and purely money / scamming fixated are absolutely horrendous. Incoming generic email from their team, pointing out that the info is clear on the payment page! (a page, you only see...right at the very end...AFTER writing a 'free contact message' to a selected tutor), and pointing out their 'hello(AT)superprof.com' email with a 'dedicated advisor' (where they don't actually respond, other than generic automated emails). Big fat fine for them incoming
Hi Minhajul, Thanks for sharing your review with us here. We never want anyone to feel misled when using our platform. The Student Pass is a subscription that gives access to contact tutors, but we absolutely take your feedback on board about how this was presented. We’re continuously working to improve clarity on our site, and your comments help us do that. Kind regards, Team Superprof
Not clear enough that the student pass is only for messaging. I thought I was paying for lessons as well as the ability to message tutors, especially since that price seems ridiculous just to access messaging. Needs an explicit warning to say no lessons included instead of just saying access to thousands of tutors.
