Tutors BEWARE! Don't give your details to the 'link'
In order to be 'Verified' with their 'new system' as a tutor you must give your bank details, 3 numbers on the back and then get asked to say how much is in your account😲 Finally asked to confirm money transfer to a Nigerian account!!
This is to receive £216 (?) for lessons with a student who I know nothing about and has apparently already paid for these 'lessons' into a Paypal account.
And then my account gets suspended as I did not go through with what I must now assume is a scam.
Surely there is a massive problem with your 'Verification' system. Where is the option to arrange payment with the student after an interaction to establish facts and mutual suitability?

I found Superprof through Google while looking for a calisthenics tutor. After entering my postcode, I was shown a tutor who appeared to be a suitable match. However, I discovered that I had to purchase a Student Pass subscription before I could ask the tutor a simple question about whether they actually taught in my area.
After subscribing, I then had to wait several days for the tutor to respond. When they eventually did, I learned that they could not provide lessons where I lived. As a result, no lessons ever took place, and I had no further use for the platform.
Unfortunately, I then forgot about the recurring subscription while waiting for replies and after discovering the tutor was unsuitable. Months later, I realised that I had continued to be charged despite never receiving any tuition or making meaningful use of the service.
I contacted customer support to explain the situation. Zoé responded politely throughout our correspondence, but repeatedly relied on the company’s terms and conditions and maintained that the recurring payments were my responsibility because the subscription had not been cancelled. Although Superprof initially refunded only the Student Pass and one month’s subscription as a goodwill gesture, they refused to refund the remaining charges.
I escalated the matter through PayPal, providing the correspondence and explaining the circumstances. After reviewing the case, PayPal decided that a full refund was the fairest outcome, and I received all of my money back.
My main criticism of Superprof is its business model. In my experience, I had to commit to a paid recurring subscription before I could properly establish whether the tutor could actually provide the service I needed. I believe there should be a way for prospective students to confirm basic suitability, such as whether a tutor covers their area, before being required to enter a recurring subscription.
While others may have a different experience, mine left me feeling that the subscription model placed too much risk on the customer. I would encourage anyone considering using Superprof to read the subscription terms carefully, check the renewal arrangements, and cancel promptly if they decide not to continue using the service.

The Student Pass is separate from a tutor’s hourly rate and does not cover the cost of lessons themselves. Once you have found a tutor, you pay that tutor directly at their advertised rate.
The Student Pass is a monthly subscription that renews automatically. However, if you only need it for one month or to reach out to a specific tutor, you are free to cancel once your request has been accepted. You will still have the remainder of the month to contact other tutors if you wish, and even after the subscription period ends you can continue booking lessons with any tutors you have already connected with.

Was not aware that I would be charged a fee for just talking to a tutor, because, of course, that is ridiculous. I was under the impression that I would only be charged if I assigned a tutor. This is the part of the deal that is not made clear, and it is not just me that holds this opinion as many other people have complained about exactly the same thing. They will not refund their fees. its a scam, as far as I am concerned. just be very aware when dealing with this outfit.

Don't be fooled by the rating - the vast majority of the positive reviews are from tutors: the average review from paying customers is actually closer to 1 star.
This is one of those subscription sites that tries very hard to hide from you that it charges £39 a month for finding a tutor in your local area that you could probably find elsewhere for free, if only you knew it wasn't free.
If a tutor accepts a lesson (which they will, regardless of not being able to do the date and time you've requested) the site charges you £39 (you might think this is for the lesson, but it's not) it also sets up an automatically renewing monthly subscription with terms hidden half way down a long email full of emojis.
If the tutor cancels they won't automatically stop the subscription, or refund your money. The onus is on you, and most of the time you won't realize it's a subscription until they charge you the second £39 - at which point they'll send you a load more emojis and some platitudes and gestures of goodwill while refusing to give you a full refund, because it's only the first month they'll refund.

Absolute scam! Lost £900
Absolute scam, they charged me monthly for two years even though I didn't even login or know I was subscribed to anything. Theres lots and lots of reviews saying the same thing so it's clearly their strategy. No emails, no reminders, no direct debit just a charge on your card each month. This has cost me over £900 for absolutely nothing and when I queried it, they didn't even offer a token refund, they just said its my fault. Absolutely terrible deceitful practise.

As a tutor, DO NOT USE THIS PLATFIRM
As a tutor, this platform is a total frustration. Trying to set up the payment process is impossible, I've used every FAQ/Help section advice they give, employed my super techie partner and still I have not been paid.
It's impossible to email/speak with a real human, their so-called customer service is an AI bot who just keeps telling me to do the things I've already told it I've done.
At this point I'm assuming I will just have to lose the £100 I'm owed and I will not use this platform in future.
And note to potential learners: be careful of the monthly fee- find your tutor and then make sure to cancel that hefty monthly fee

I was sourcing a Python Tutor for my son.
The subscription fee is very misleading to students, at first I thought it would be a one off charge of GBP 39.00 to access Tutors. The fee is continuous whilst you are accessing the site. Great, if you find a tutor within the first month and you can then set up sessions directly and quickly, but my experience was not positive. With tutors messing us around I ended up spending 3 months subscription charges with no success of finding anyone that was genuine.
Tutors were;
a) advertising, but when you contacted them they said they were too busy/booked up - so why do they still advertise on the site, surely to avoid wasting time, suspend you advert until you are free?
b) Four of the ten tutors we contacted had fake profiles, on the trial session you were connected to a different person based in a third party company from India.
c)and finally, when we did find a tutor, he messed us about trying to get him to commit to scheduling lessons, because he was too busy in work.
An ability for students to booked allocated times which the tutor would advertise as available would have saved a lot of time.
Overall, a very poor experience of Super Prof.
