Membership payments taken from account. I did NOT ask for membership. No phone help line. Revolting company. I will never use them again. Have emailed them. Having to waste hours trying to sort this out!!!! This is negatively affecting my health. I see now that many people have had this experience.
I used to accept Change.org as a legitimate agency doing good work.
On July 3 2026, I made a donation of $20.00 and checked to see if the amount had been deducted through PayPal, only to find that something had gone wrong and I was being billed $2,000.00
I tried stopping payment through PayPal, but essentially they said it wasn't their problem, so I sent an email to Change.org explaining what had happened.
No reply.
I sent another email, and got an acknowledgement that they had received an email. At that point, I decided to delete my account with Change.org because I was concerned that if this happened once, it could happen again.
Subsequent emails have only confirmed that my account is closed, but no refund of my $2,000.00
It looks like Change.org isn't in the least concerned that there has been an error, nor what impact that could have. No intention has been expressed either to rectify the situation, nor to refund my money.
In light of these events, I would recommend that people think twice before trusting Cahange.org.
Evidently, they give no change.
They sent me a verification mail about my one time support of 200 SEK. Then without my consent they continued to charge me the same amount as a membership fee. Which I noticed two month later. The first withdraw was marked "change.org, petition" and the other two "change.org, membership". Loging in to my account at change.org my credit card was not listed. My only option was to cancel my account. But doing that I did not get a verification mail. So, I was forced to write my bank about how change.org has charge me without my consent. If the bank can't block them from charging me again I will have to get a new credit card.

It's a money grabbing site.
It's a money grabbing site that runs petitions. Asked for £11 to help push a petition but all that does is line the pockets of the company. They don't care about the petitions just how much you're prepared to give them. I wish people didn't use them. Lots of reviews mention about getting signed up for a monthly subscription and struggling to get their money back. Be aware and avoid if possible.

A money making profit company ,
A money making profit company ,, constant push for donations ,, all I want was to sign a justice/fairness petition , not line the pocket of the guy who owns change.org , with constant high pressure sales , they don’t give shit about petitions just greed and own money !!!
Gave 1 donation of £15 in April 2021. Change.org took 8 more unauthorised sums from my account before I could stop them.Late 2024 started taking £15 monthly again. So far have only managed to recover £105 and no promises that it won't happen again in the future. All very nice and friendly emails but sharks and in my opinion, scammers.
I was donating 1 time and i found myself subscribing a montly donation!
With “easy click” subscription link and hidden 1 time donation
Then i got to cancel the subscription and block with paypal
Not nice

Thought I was doing a good thing signing a petition agreed to a £2 donation then discovered I was unknowingly signed up to a monthly payment of £3 this money was taken immediately. To late now I am reading reviews and realise this has happened to others. They have left me feeling conned, I will never sign a petition on this platform again AVOID
They fraudulently repeat charge after one time donations
I have signed numerous petitions hosted on change.org. A couple month ago I gladly made a several one-time donation to support a friend's petition - and some other petitions. I was so disappointed a month later when I noticed on my PayPal that they had fraudulently made several unauthorized additional charges. I disputed these. The next month I was shocked that they again fraudulently made several more unauthorized charges.
Deceitful business practices. Change.org are a money making capitalist scam masquerading as altruism. I wanted to make a once off contribution to a good cause but they conveniently set it up as a monthly subscription. When I check my account, I saw that they had double billed me as well. Beware!

Beware of Change.org fraudsters!
I paid A$30 last month using PayPayl to promote a petition for a just cause on Change.org. Exactlyi after one month, they charged the same amount without my authorisation. What more evidence you need to say this Change.org people are just scamers and swindlers? When I did a web search I came to know that they have a hidden clause already ticked approving the same amount to be paid to them monthly? So how can these Change.org fraudsters ever bring about justice and real change to the world, when they themselves are ripping off unsuspecting people? There got to be a real honest website that does this Change.org swindler's work. Change.org should be banned for their illegal fraudulent activities. They are simpliy fraudsters disguised as do gooders.

For profit company that asks for money…
For profit company that asks for money to show more people a petition, show WHERE, their site? Lol - Profit for nonprofit and often dire causes does NOT mix.
Harsh push for donations and not registering signatures in the first place. Unclear if signatures have been recorded, not receiving emails for confirmation or anything. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't use this platform to start a petition, it's a supporter's worst nightmare!
Not fit for purpose, it doesn't always work, aggressive marketing tactics taking away from the nonprofit or making a change idea.
I was caught in the reoccurring unauthorised payments in 2021 but it was resolved by my bank. However the payments started again in 2024 and I have been battling with Change.org for refunding since. They state that their system will not refund anything over a year old.And cannot promise me that it won't happen again.I have received some refunds in dribs and drabs. I think they are hoping I will go away. I wont. Not when they owe me over £200 which I regard as sheer theft.

SCAM COMPANY
SCAM COMPANY. The only CHANGE they want is more money in their bank account. I signed up for a single £10 donation to a cause I support and I get an email saying my donation is a single one off payment. Then I find the next month another £10 has been taken. I bet little goes to the cause. Stay away!!

Change.org definitely helps the world to be a better place – overall and for individual cases!
Change.org definitely helps the world to be a better place – overall and for individual cases!
Change.org has repeatedly helped me with great competence and very kindly and patiently with my different concerns.
The platform is free, easy to sign, and if wanted provides information on the progress of the petitions.
I will definitely keep on signing there petitions, especially to help animals in great distress, since the voices of many people can change the entire world of an individual as well as that of many others.
No matter what species, no animal is too insignificant to deserve protection, help, and justice and no action is too small!
