Long time GOLDSTAR customer...I recently purchased tickets to see LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE MONTE CARLO at the Kennedy Center. FIRST, I love the fact I could purchase discounted tickets to a show at the KenCen. SECOND, I love seeing The Trocks perform since their footwork and dancing is on par with the other established ballet companies.
This was a birthday gift for a friend and I didn't tell him where our seats were located (orchestra). He assumed we would be in peanut heaven but surprisingly enough, the cost of peanut heaven tix were just as much as the GOLDSTAR orchestra seating! Guess which I purchased via GOLDSTAR.
Every thing was fabulous. Ordering the tix was easy peasy and GOLDSTAR made sure I was aware of my tickets and date of the event. The seats were great...sight lines fantastic...the crowd was enthusiastic about the performers and program. Kudos to the men dancing en pointe as they made it look easy but I dang well know it isn't!!
A VERY moving and well done play which was serious, sad, thought provoking with some comic relief as well. I volunteered at a refugee camp for a few months in Samos and you all were spot on. A TREMENDOUS job done by the entire cast!
The Choir of Men was excellent. The music was excellent, the interaction with the attendees was a blast, and the beer was great. We will highly recommend this to all our friends.
I totally enjoyed the performance. Lots of energy, great dance numbers and a number of funny moments. They had some new songs I had not heard. ... I missed the number the Beast sang in the movie when Belle left the castle.
The two things I would improve was better signage or map to find the theater on campus. Also, we sat right next to the musicians and that sometimes drowned out the vocals. That could be corrected with speaker placement.
Overall, it was an excellent performance. Fin family entertainment. Good job!
There were a number of pretty good cat stories, most amusing, some sentimental. The actors, who told their own stories, were very good to excellent. And the half-price Gold Star tickets were a bargain.
The Gold Star listing indicated it would be "general admission." which we understood to mean open seating, so we got there early. But when we got there the tickets had assigned seating, so we had to wait around about an hour for no good reason. It would have been more helpful to say "seating assigned by the theater."
The acting and singing was good. However there was a lot of turning the lights on for no apparent reason. Another reason for the low review was because I had seats front row, far right in the Mezzanine. There was no leg room to the glass looking down below. Not only did you have to turn a bit to see the stage but I was getting dizzy due to my fear of heights so I had to move to the stairs and eventually to an empty seat behind me.
THE NANCE at 1st Stage Tysons VA is very good: uniformly great acting and directing. Expect to see Helen Hayes noms. The play middle works esp. well, but characters could be better & more fully written. The play really works and this is an excellent professional production that has lots of fun. Well worth seeing.
I love using Goldstar. Whenever I have a show I'd like to see, Goldstar is the first place I check out for a great deal. The service charge is also way less than most venues when you purchase directly. Never had an issue with the app and I will continue using it going forward.
Direct From Sweden was a great band & ar 1/2 price it was that much better through Goldstar, easy, tickets at box office as said with no issues. Direct From Sweden was a fantastic Music from Abba Band, they not only looked like Abba, they sounded like Abba from the studio as this group had ten members of the band on the stage, the music sound was phenomenal, highly recommend, at full price they would still be terrific.

was a very entertaining and talented group. They were engaging and involved the audience with much of their music. Our seats were good but maybe not worth the price they were asking. Getting the tickets through Goldstar made it worthwhile. I wasn't crazy about the venue, the Bal Theater. Yes, it is a historic building but maybe not for a performance like this. It was still fun.
Will call had tickets ready and staff was friendly. 2nd time @ The Bal and am glad to have a local venue where we can go occasionally, going to SF is not at all as enjoyable as maybe it once was at least for me. Friendly, clean theatre with Goldstar it was a good price to see Direct From Sweden a talented group of gifted singers and musicians.
