What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Consumers frequently face sudden account lockouts without any advance warning and struggle to reach customer support. People note that automated chatbots and online contact forms are completely unhelpful when trying to resolve urgent and frustrating login issues. Some reviewers were happy with past experiences, noting the email provider used to be reliable and very easy to set up. Others mentioned that the platform was quite functional, offering good features and a superior service before recent updates. A few users also pointed out that basic features worked exceptionally well for standard free accounts previously.

What people say

One day you get access the next 5 day you do not.

The company updated their web site and oh my god what a terrible service from being able to access your emails to now being denied or just simply put in a loop. The trouble is here I stay in colonized Scotland and we are not give a option to pay for the email account but adverts are part of our service and its because of this that its impossible to access your account or get the account to open properly. Nobody objects to a free service with adverts but what is the point of being a email provider and then not being able to access to your email account. I believe that a email account is as important as a bank account I going to write to my MP and see if the English government can act of this because it just isn't right.

Terrible user interface

Terrible user interface! Email page does my head in with all the distracting colors, advertising on the side, advertising in between the emails, difficult to quickly check emails, an ineffective spam filter that lets in lots of rubbish, etc. Too hard! Way better, cleaner, free platforms like Zoho Mail are out there. Not recommended.

We have been Premium members for years…

We have been Premium members for years & have been happy. However, the month or so, each of us has had issues loggin on. The page is "unreponsive" or it says "out of memory". They first told me they were having issues on a wide basis. The 2nd time I called Customer Services (after approx., 30 min wait times), they said it was my computer. We went through all the preliminaries,i.e., cache clearing, trying several different browsers (we use Brave), verifying current browser versions, etc, etc....they asked me to send an email outlining all this, but i haven't heard back from them. Earlier in the year, we lost emails for about a month, because of issues with the "@usa.com" email addresses. Able to get email on phone though!

This has to be the worst email ever

This has to be the worst email ever. It was so bad I upgraded to the paid version thinking that they would treat their paying customers better. Unfortunately not! I often cannot log in. I have to use another browser and clear cookies which deletes all my browsing data which is a pain if I wish to use that browser. I submitted multiple support tickets for my paid account and they just reply that the problem is at my end. I do not want to have to delete all my cookies and browsing data every day in order to use their **** email. I am moving to gmail.

I have had the same email account for…

I have had the same email account for over 20 years. Out of the blue I was no longer able to access the account, either via PC or my smart phone. Tried various ways to reset the password and I could tell that the phone number to be used to verify who I was, was no phone number I had ever had. After well over a week I finally got an automated email that said that they were dealing with unprecedented volumes and it would take 5 to 7 business days. Now, two weeks later still no response. I just want my info out of this account and delete the damn email account. Can you sense the frustration? It's been nearly a month!!!

mail.com decided to expose its insanity with these tests that make no sense.

I have been a mail.com customer since 1998, but it seems that the company wants me to stop using them. Those tests with items to move from one to another give new meaning to the word "insanity." Even my ex-wife isn't as insane as that excuse to drive customers away. I have email addresses in other companies, but I created my email address with mail.com using a code that would attract certain users. What exists now is truly insane.

Stay away, both gmx and mail are shut down

Just like gmx.com , mail is part of them it seems and i can't access my accounts anymore. it actually started today, can't access my emails anymore, seems like both sites has shut down now or shutting down. Gmx and mail has been around forever, i guess nothing last forever.

I am a premium customer but getting zero…

I am a premium customer but getting zero support as i am based in UK, only US customers get premium support it seems, i cannot even get a reply to my emails, been trying to cancel cloud upgrades for over a year with no success, they just take all payments automatically, extremely disappointed paying for a premium service and getting the worst service,

Email system changed.. Total rubbish and time consuming !!

I have been with mail.com for quite a few years, and have found the email service to be good and normally reliable. Recently they have changed the email platform to resemble outlooks mobile style, but it does not work very well...The emails now take longer to download, and never open properly ! I have to click an email to read, but then the message box is empty, with just the header showing....so then have to click on the word 'details' and then click on 'my email address', and then the message body shows !! Total rubbish and time consuming !! Bring back the old system which worked properly !! Remember: 'if it aint broke dont fix it ' !!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER GOOD ONLINE SERVICE TRASHED BY NEW OWNERS

I used mail.com for years and it was always a good email service. But recently it was bought by a foreign entity and they immediately set about redesigning (destroying) the service. I've seen this happen to other good online services so I didn't wait but jumped ship to another email service. It was a good thing I did because not long afterwards the service became completely unusable. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM MAIL.COM!

I warn you people

I warn you people. This is a criminal organization ! Do not trust to create your email account on this fake provider . You will loose your business or your property. Even i protected my account with my mobile phone number , i have no access to my email even with correct password. Then i used the page to recovery my password. I receive the sms code to my phone , but when i use the sms code to the recovery field, i receive message this sms code is not correct ! They just play with you because then they will ask money from you to unlock you account. It is like the online hackers who lock your computer and then they ask huge payment to unlock it. By similar way this company when see your messages and understand that you need the account , then they lock it and for sure they will ask huge money. I warned you. It is a criminal organization and i am very disappointed of why USA government allows this criminal activity on their territory . I thought USA is a legal country.

I use a VPN and they blocked me !!!

I use a VPN and this mail service keeps blocking me out. Writing to the support desk and completing a form to the best of our ability (main details are accurate) they don't even reply (2 maybe 3 days later ). I even asked them to open my mailbox to let me get my mails and I'll delete the account. They don't reply to the emails they originated to me asking questions. I recommend not using this provider because of their support and blocking anyone with a VPN. my mail ads is Elias-Hart@
