What people say

Another company bad service

Subscribed on 07/30/26 for online account. Credit card was verified by computer. Next morning an e mail stating they needed card information updated. Just in case we re entered information again. The computer again verified information correct.08/03/26 yet another e mail asking for updated card information. Called customer service and as is the modern way, foreign call handlers. Eventually got through to IOWA and was fed some BS about how they run credit cards. When i explained my knowledge of 20 plus years managing the credit card systems of two companies and that this started to smell of a scam to get multiple card numbers. I was then treated to silence and refusal to speak to a manager to resolve issue. The lady (Kristy) then hung up Multiiple attempts to ask for credit card numbers is a sign of a scamming attempt. Nat geo refusal to address this issue in one call is at best disgusting. Sadly another fine company gone down the tubes. As a postcript I do not want to hear the excuse of third party agency involvement. Business done as Nat Geo is Nat geo.

USED TO be a GREAT company

After over 30 years of subscribing to multiple National Geographic magazines - BYE BYE. I am disgusted that you have raised the price over 40% on the regular magazine since last year. It is insulting!!! I was ok with more ads, less volume in articles & I can afford this higher price no problem... BUT- you should have raised the price over a number of years- not all at once. And PS- I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR ONLINE ARTICLES & EMAILS that you now include. I guess I should not be suprised as you are now owned by the woke DISNEY Co. Thanks for the memories & good luck staying in business. I am sure many customers feel the same way as me.

Dear Sally, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and we are very sorry to see you go. We understand your concern about recent subscription price increases, and we appreciate the opportunity to address it. At National Geographic, we work hard to keep subscription rates as affordable as possible; however, recent increases in operating expenses including printing, postage, and materials have made it necessary to adjust our subscription rates so we can continue delivering the high-quality journalism, stunning photography, and digital experience our subscribers expect. We value your feedback and understand that price changes can be frustrating. We hope the value you receive from National Geographic’s award-winning storytelling and trusted reporting continues to make your subscription worthwhile. Thank you for your longtime support of National Geographic and we hope you choose to subscribe again soon with us. Sincerely, National Geographic Customer Services

2 months in no magazines

Subscribed in June to the Traveller edition - apparently won't get a magazine til August. I apparently just missed the cut off point for getting a June edition when I signed up on the 5th. I was looking forward to my July edition and emailed today (the 10th) to ask when it would come. I was told that I'd now missed the boat again and won't get a magazine til August now. There was no explanation as to what happened or if my magazine was even dispatched and zero resolution beyond continuing to wait. It feels scammy as though they're hoping people will just forget they've signed up or not want to keep chasing and I definitely won't be renewing or recommending.

Dear Tash, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience with National Geographic Traveller (UK) magazine, which is published by APL Media under licence from National Geographic. Your subscription was purchased on 7 May 2026. As the June issue had already gone to print, your subscription began with the July/August 2026 issue. The UK records show this issue was dispatched by our mailing house and should have been delivered from around 5 June. When you contacted us on 10 July to report that your copies had not arrived, we investigated the matter. Unfortunately, by that point the issue was out of stock, so we were unable to send a replacement copy. To ensure you did not miss out, we extended your subscription at no extra cost to include an additional issue. We're sorry we weren't able to provide the replacement you were hoping for, but we did our best to resolve the situation once it was brought to our attention. We will be in touch to see how we can resolve this for you.

Was subscribing as a gift for a friend

Was subscribing as a gift for a friend. I thought it odd at the time that I had signalled this but couldn’t see an option to enter a separate mailing address. Could be my mistake. Anyway, I contacted customer service to resolve which was a straightforward process. Thank you.

Excellent Customer Support

I'm moving from Belgium to France, tried to change the shipping address and discovered that online it's not possible to edit the country. I sent an email to customer support with the old and new address and they immediately changed it. And sent a very nice email to confirm that.

Received quick human help via email!

I have been a subscriber of the UK NGM edition for over 10 years and have always loved the content. Recently I moved abroad and received quick and efficient help in changing my same subscription (UK edition) to my new address abroad.

Hard to change the e-mail address of the international account

With an international account it is hard to change the e-mail address. Within the web account administration it is not possible to change the e-mail address. I needed two e-mails to the support to suceed to find the proper way. a new account is therefore necessary! The process ist according to this: 1. Go to ngm external administration hompage 2. Click Create an Account Now 3. Enter your new email 4. Click to receive a verification code by email to activate your account. 5. Enter the verification code and then proceed to set up a password 6. Later You may need to add the subscription from the old account too.

Dear Ricky, Thank you for your feedback! You are correct that when logging into our customer care website https://ngmintlservice.nationalgeographic.com/solo you will need to sign in with the email address associated with your subscription account. After the account is activated and the email address is verified, you can sign in and view the customer numbers linked to that email address. If you need to change an email address associated with your account, at this time you'll need to contact the Customer Service team by phone or email for assistance. Sincerely, National Geographic Customer Service

Subscriprion stopped, but recovered with good support

Contents: Very good, educational and worthwhile to read. Subscription: Suddenly stopped without any reason. They say life confirmation letter was sent to me, but it did not alive. There is no backup system to that kind of failure. Support: Very good. The recovery from above incident was treated quickly. Responses were professional.

Dear Tak, Please note that a letter was mailed to all Lifetime subscribers in September 2025 to confirm if subscribers would still wish to continue receiving the magazine delivery. Upon verification and confirmation of the Original Subscription Recipient, we updated the account and continued subscription service. If we did not receive confirmation within given time period, the subscription was cancelled. We are sorry to hear that you did not receive or recall seeing the letter that was sent. It has always been our intent to honor existing lifetime memberships. Accordingly, we stated in the letter, we are happy to reinstate your subscription service once confirmation has been provided even after the given time period. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. Your loyalty to National Geographic is appreciated! Sincerely, National Geographic Customer Service

Lifetime subscription hiccups...

I have a lifetime subscription. Suddenly the magazines stopped coming. I inquired with the customer service and was told that they are sorry that the 'still alive?'-confirmation letter got lost. The result - I lost six months of magazines until now and (as of April 2026) I was told that the magazines will continue to be sent from July 2026 onwards. So the published saved 10 months of magazines just by claiming that a letter (that maybe never existed) was lost somewhere. I observe the development of the magazine and its commercial affiliations for many years now. And one thing is sure - with a main focus on extracting money no value is being created for anyone. Sad!
