Horrible I can't log into my mobile steam app cause it says to use the mobile app to confirm its me even though I AM ON THE MOBILE APP
its the best game launchger, from games,to specs and custmoer support, clearly the goat of game launchers
Been a loyal steam purchaser for at least two decades. Never had an issue. Tried to refund a game. I'd owned it for a month. Played it once. Didn't enjoy it. I didn't immediately refund it because I thought I might get inspired to try it again. My experience had always felt like the 2 hours of play time was more important. I missed the 14 days. That is on me. And I'll never make that mistake again. However, I feel like I have refunded things before, well after this 'strict' 14 day period. Its not like I've owned the game for six months or a year. Its been a month ... with an hour of gameplay time on it. Customer service refused to budge an inch because it was 'Past the 2 week refund' period. Tried to escalate it. Barely got a response from an actual employee. Escalated again, got a clipped response and then they 'ended' the help request. That is probably why I am the most irritated. Their 'customer service' was short and curt. Uncaring. It felt like I didn't matter and I don't. Its truly disappointing that I can be a customer for decades, make a minor oversight and feel screwed because of it. Lesson learned.
I found out that a game I purchased removed a feature I wanted to play the game for, so I contacted the steam customer service team and got my refund in a timely manner. 10/10 would buy games from steam again.
This complaint is about the Steam scam. They claim vigorously that their software is secure but it is far from secured. I have recently had a virus or malware removed. While this malware found vulnerability that stole my steam session without any notifications of account verification of another device using my account. Steam support even sent me a link that lists all devices that were using my account and it clearly shows a list of users from around the world counted more than 10 different countries. One user even had the audacity to change my user name and icon. What this malware gain in hacking steam accounts is the use of real software id of paid games. The result was that one user was using cheats which caused one of my paid games to be VAC banned and I can no longer use it. This is hard earned money flushed into the toilet. Steam kept insisting their software is secured despite all evidence showing otherwise. I will never purchase another game through Steam as it would be a waste of money.
I don't know why other reviews are being so negative about their steam reviews. Steam sells games, they also run sales on said games. The games vary because steam doesn't make them. The sales are good. Literally the only digital game distributor that allows returns. Customer support is famous for being swift and effective. Stop hating on steam.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed with this experience. I’ve been a loyal Steam member for years, but the way this situation has been handled is ridiculous. I feel completely let down as a customer. The whole experience has been frustrating, and it honestly feels like I’m being treated unfairly. It’s unacceptable, and I would expect much better from a platform I’ve supported for so long. Stupid scammers — absolutely ridiculous. I would seriously think twice before spending your money if you’re worried about getting proper support when something goes wrong. Very disappointed. Steam needs to do better.
Id used steam for ages, then out of nowhere they removed a comment id posted for being 'prejudiced against lgbtq' which it wasnt i was merely pointing out two people in a photo looked good together, i reached out to customer support to ask them to restore it because it was wrongfully removed and i felt they were unfairly targeting me, they said they wouldnt and that it was indeed in line with their rules and quoted some lame excuse that because it was in the community of some other game they arent bound by the same rules or something which is bs because its on steam and they all have to follow steam rules. Seeing as ironically im trans and bi myself i figured they were targeting me because of that and the nature of my comment (its happened before on other sites in exactly the same way where they use this kind of reverse prejudice by saying im the one whos doing it but really its them doing it to me) it seems some people just cant deal with people talking about anything lgbtq. So i ended up telling them straight and called them out on their prejudiced rules, then deleted my account, losing all my purchased games in the process (the price to pay for not supporting bigots). Ill not put up with hateful ignorant people/companies like that i shouldnt have to. Absolutely disgusting that this is allowed and you have no recourse other than to stop using the service either partially or entirely.
well i have now been charged twice for a game i wanted to play, both purchases show on my credit card, and yet the steam app says they failed both times. i also cannot seem to navigate my way to any kind support ticket, so I'm just going to go ahead and never use seam again. you garbage ass idiots. thanks for stealing 25$ from me.
A customer of Steam for 15 plus years maybe longer, A submitted a request for a refund due to the game having hordes of Cheaters, a black market of buying items for $5 which takes actual players 100's of hours to get. I've brought many games from them, never had a refund but I got 'denied'. I don't even need the money back its about the principal. Also almost every single game can be purchased from other websites (Full legit copies) for 1/2 or less the price, So you better off doing that rather than buying on Steam for 'safety' or 'service'.
The platform itself is decent but customer support is abysmal. They will take your money in an instant but when you need support,. You suddenly don't exist.
I once had my account hacked I sent steam support an email then went to bed and by the next day they had secured my account. The only thing is that many games are only on Windows (obviously) so don’t get it on Mac.
From harassment, death threats, hate speech, cybebullying and doxxing, Steam community is not a safe place. Even Steam harassment reports does not work and blocking does not go because people can stalk you for years. And Guess what is the worst part. Im the One that for false community ban lock meanwhile those cybercriminals are still up. Its disgusting after 15 years Steam community hás become. I'll give 5 years at max Steam community platform Will BE into a s hole. If you're reading this review, lemme give you a small advice. If you're creating a account, please Stay away from people. Private your profile, don't ever play multiplayer or interact with people. Either singleplayer or you have better plataforms like Xbox or PSN.
the steam download is filled with viruses, I can't open it on my Mac once it was downloaded, because it just rejects it automatically, and when I pasted the report into ai it said that the file was corrupted, stay away from steam
Possibly the worst service in the world If not its damn close they don't listen and just close your support request and tell you that you are lying essentially Think Ill stick with Xbox
The steam support became useless. I bought a game on steam but its missing in the Library. When i write the support I always get the same answer from this AI Bot Jeff. Jeff is always saying that he can't help me, so he needs to close the request.
They have terrible customer service. It is inconsistent and they do not take any of the information given into consideration. They have rejected my request for refund stating it is past the return window and played over 2 hours. Yet there are posts from other people receiving refunds past the return window and playing over 16 hours. I have never even requested any returns for any games until now, it is the very first request. It's just a huge disappointment to see the lack of customer service from what was a loyal customer who has never returned anything before.
awful platform with mods that abuse their power, refunds are locked to 2 hours, can't even access half the platform until you pay. rampant slop games, slow outdated store UI and now they are complying with the UK's dystopian laws that restrict some games. this monopoly needs to die because they clearly don't care for their userbase. the steam frame and pc are incredibly overpriced yet the fanboys keep gobbling it up.
I spent a lot of money on Steam. When me and an ex had a falling out, he took my gaming computer so I didn't have anything to play games for a couple years. I try to log in again and otherwise he took my account or someone else had hacked it. Tried to get support from Steam, which was at first difficult to find. And even though I could provide my information, and though I'm positive the games were paid for on my card since I was the only one working at the time, they said they couldn't help me. So I lost a lot of money with them, and they're useless in assisting. My account doesn't even look active any more so it's not like they're making any money off of whoever is controlling it now. Okay Steam, I'll take my business elsewhere. Did have a lot of other games I wanted to buy but looks like your competitor can sell me my games back for cheaper and I'll have plenty left over for some new games. If you're worried about losing more money than it's worth, don't go with Steam.
