Won't refund a game that doesnt work

Won't refund a game that doesnt work. I will be avoiding steam at all cost moving forward. Not about the money, but about failing to do what is right

Very frustrating experience with Steam…

Very frustrating experience with Steam support. My son’s account was hijacked, and I have been trying to recover it, but the recovery process is not working. When I try to reset the password, I complete the CAPTCHA successfully, proving I am not a robot, but when I press search, I receive an error message. I then tried the option to provide proof of ownership through a Steam support ticket, but instead of creating a ticket, it simply asks me to log in — which I cannot do because the account has been compromised. There is no clear way to contact support or get help from a real person. The recovery system feels like a loop that prevents access rather than helping genuine account owners. I understand security measures are important, but when an account is stolen, there needs to be a reliable way for the actual owner to prove ownership and get assistance. At the moment, the lack of support is extremely disappointing.

Dismissive and rigid customer service.

Dismissive and rigid customer service. I bought Hitman as a gift and it dropped by 90% the following day. I asked for Steam Wallet credit so I could repurchase it at the sale price and use the remaining credit on Steam—not to cash out or abuse the refund system. The recipient had exceeded two hours, so I understand this was outside the automatic refund window. My complaint is the complete lack of discretion and the repeated stock responses about “future eligibility,” even after I explained that this experience meant I would not purchase through Steam again. I have used Steam for seventeen years and spent thousands, but I have now removed my payment method and will take future purchases elsewhere. Refusing a modest goodwill adjustment has cost them a long term customer

Amazing support

It's really refreshing to see such a competent support in the year 2026. No complains when there is a issue they help you to their best abilities. I really won't see the day where I can stop glazing them because of their amazing support.

i purchased a 4 game bundle

i purchased a 4 game bundle. played 1 (worked fine).. went to play the other 3, 1 doesn't even load after install, and the other loads to menu but doesn't even play the first campaign mission (after this, couldn't even be bothered to install the 4th game).. paid £20 for all 4.. not £20 for 1 game whilst the others don't work! asked for a refund, because clearly that's the fair thing to receive when the bundle doesn't work! refused a refund! AWFUL COMPANY! may as well just avoid them at all costs and use other companies like EPIC, xBox etc... instead!

Steam siding with scammers

This is an unclaimed profile which tells you a lot about how Steam/Valve view customers. I have been a customer for years (since 2015!) and have spent an absolute fortune over the years. Recently I got into a bit of a dispute with a developer scamming people who blocked me from the community forums. Being the sort of person I am, I immediately popped up on another forum of his - and got banned! Steam not only sided with him but sent me a warning. This developer is taking people's money for an abandoned project and banning anyone who raises it. Steam/Valve show no interest whatsoever. This is where I wish I had a platform such as a successful social media channel or something. Steam would change their attitude pretty quickly!

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. Got locked out of by account by steam guard and after failing to help me customer service closed my ticket. No phone number to call only emails that are generally 12 hours apart, often repeating the same thing. After a week of this my ticket was closed without resolution. I have no way to access my account or the dozens of games I have purchased.

I will never buy anything off of steam…

I will never buy anything off of steam again. I've spent over 3 hours trying to figure out why my authenticator app on my phone won't send me the code for the Steam app on my computer. And there's nobody to call at Steam or even a live chat to talk to anybody you're all on your own with this terrible company.

5+ Year experience on steam.

Game in the steam is really good, with a lot discount 50-70% because Major Seasonal Sales, summer, autumn, and winter. You can play 20-30 dollars game, if you miss the event you can wait again for next event to buy more that one game. Don't forget is regional price on steam, maybe in your region the discount is not worth it, but in other regions the discount is very worth it to buy. So enjoy gamers! :D

Incredible support team

My purchases with steam were completely fine, and i love the layout of the app. The main reason im writing this is because their steam support people are absolutely amazing. Both times my accounts got hacked they managed to get it back within the day. Truly amazing job from steam.

Greedy corpos

So I ended up getting hyped into buying Red Dead redemption 2. Okay I get it. Everyone says it's this and that yeah it's cool cowboys and then the story looks good but I will. Was really disappointed with how slow and clunky the movements and everything just really is about it so I didn't like it. But you know as everybody else reading the task I have a life so a little bit of time went by before I could get around to seeing if I could get a refund. I didn't even want cash back. I wanted just you know some stream credit to find a game that I would actually enjoy playing. Or did I get though? I got told no repeatedly because I played 2 hours and 3 minutes over 25 days in total. And they would not make an exception. I am blown away of the greed of some people, especially when Steam generates so much money it's crazy to me that you couldn't even provide someone just with steam credits. I didn't want money back. I just wanted to try and find a game I'd enjoy playing. So now I have this terrible game that I'm probably never going to play again. And and they really just gave me a bad taste in my mouth that I don't think I'll be doing business with them at all again. Buy my games elsewhere.

Account has been hacked or something - Demanding CD Codes, etc, etc

Account has been hacked or something, and Steam are offering no support or help. Using Steam almost since they first came out. Logging in now, they are demanding CD keys for games that have no CD keys, because they were all purchased directly on Steam. At this precise time, I have lost my account, all my games, all the community work I put in. Steam or Valve Corporation offer zero support, and obviously have a lack of communication skills regarding a HACKED account which is basically what has happened. Demanding CD keys to be able to log in or reset the account when all the games are purchased in Steam, makes no logical sense. So 100% locked out, no way to really get in touch with Valve or Steam and hundreds and hundreds of £££ worth of games and my community work, just all gone like that. I have words to describe Valve Corporation, Steam and the likes of Youtube, and all tech companies. TrustPilot would delete those words immediately. But I think you get the gist of what I mean. Steam / Valve Corporation like any of them, they do not care for you, me, or anything else but themselves, end of.
