Steam forums are a joke, they ban you if some trolls report you just for telling pve players a game will never be pve and the game maker is stringing them along to keep them in the game, ie arc raiders, i love the pve side of the game but embark matchmaking is now gone wild and putting a guy who rezzes every player he can, protect players who need it, advise players how to do quests, trials and such since i was there since the start to all of a sudden getting ratted by teams of rats cheating the system to que as a team in solos. embark will not do anything at all while claiming to want the pve comunity and will do things for them, but they only boost pvp side and make nerfs based on pvp playstyle, so i basicly said us pve players need to leave and pretty much boycot it, i got banned from steam forums for saying that. they support toxic trolls, and people who rage bait and break system rules, then ban you if you tell people to stop playing and or not buy a game that wont play like they thought it was when its not. the forum moderators reward violaters punish those who follow policy and use fake violations to ban you.

The worst support team worldwide. did not get support only generic answers and closing tickets without looking at the issue and try to help. no understanding only grabbing money. i hope you guys get boycotted and really hope the worst to come to you. Useless...i suggest people in general stop paying these corporate suits and buy from other platforms like Epic Games. wayyy much better and with actual support..if you can not buy a game from Steam please do so. got 2 accounts and over 200+ games..got proof if anyone needs more info.
I love steam
I love steam, they have a kind and clear refund policy and have even allowed me refunds outside the window when developers don't deliver. Recently, Steam has been forcing developers to provide meaningful minimum requirements for their games, by allowing users to submit their performance metrics. This has been godsend for me, as I cannot play games with high latency requirements from Australia to the US that use screen share technology. (Although Steam has -always- allowed me to refund a product that only uses screenshare such as Heavenly Bodies recently) Anyone who speaks against them hasn't had 5mins with Epic.
Horrible
If you want to get stuck in an endless loop of signing in, berifying, receiving codes and then not be able to see what you are typing when changing your password, then Steam is for you. Even when you are in your home, alone, you cannot see what you are typing when signing in or changing your password. They don't even give you the option. I gave up. I am not wasting any more time trying to use Steam and I'm tking my money elsewhere.

The greatest gaming platform out there. Technically advanced, and super convenient. What takes weeks of back and forth communication with the support team for other companies, on Steam it can be done in just 3 clicks.
Best game platform
I'm not going to pretend like Steam doesn't have issues. Network connectivity and the fact that technically you don't actually 'own' any of the games you buy on Steam are the easiest problems to bring up. That being said I have used Steam for over 20 years and overall have always had a positive experience with Steam. I have also used other systems like Epic / Blizzard / EA. They are always consistently worse then Steam nothing is worse then when a Steam game forces you to use their sub-par services.

Forum Moderation Abuse. Trolling runs this platform. Steam Support and Game Forum Moderators perma-ban people defending themselves. This company is ran so ridiculous, it might be one of the most toxic platforms to exist. I hope they collapse and lose their jobs one day.
Banned from support for trying to get a support agent to engage with me regarding an issue.
Support agent Logen has blocked my access to the entire support section of steam for an entire month. I can not make any tickets whatsoever. Had to send approximately seven support tickets (Not automated refund requests) outlining my issue that made a game unlaunchable due to an update; something people often claim that steam is "understanding" about. I experienced the absolute opposite. Support agents simply copied and pasted boilerplate without recognising the game as not launchable. A ticket finally gets escalated after 8 days of back and forth "2 hours 14 days" and that's when they decide to entirely lock me out of support as a whole. If I get hacked in the next month which is unlikely but never impossible, I am entirely out of luck, I will have lost my account and have no recourse for contacting support. You would almost certainly think it better for a support agent to actually engage with a consumers issue, rather than punish them for seeking recourse for a game that is no longer as described or fit for purpose. I'm glad some people are being offered entire games as an offer of goodwill for issues with their steam controller shipping, but realize you in the very very slim majority, steam will not help you in the future and would rather punish you in such an over the top manner instead of refunding you £3.99. Experience has entirely disenchanted me with the company as somebody who has been with steam since 2011 and barely ever requested refunds, maybe 10 total in my life. No chance I'm ever buying a steam frame or steam machine after this experience.
Poor Handling of Customer Issues
Support quality depends entirely on who handles your case. My issue was never actually resolved, but at least some members of the support staff genuinely tried to investigate and help. Jing Khai in particular was professional, responsive, and willing to look into the problem properly. Unfortunately, my experience with Blake and Ilya was the complete opposite. Their responses felt dismissive and unhelpful, and they did not appear interested in properly understanding or troubleshooting the problem.

All the games I purchased from Steam have become unplayable. Trying to get help I'm told I have go to the source company. I go to verify the files on my computer and they says they are verified but they are not, they can't be. My backup files I can't even access anymore.I would much rather purchase the physical CD. I guess my computer gaming days are over, because I will never buy another game from an online service

Its like a police state on steroids , the platform is completely and utterly destroyed and now run by the system to control u and your freedom and speech.
