The only thing not to love about StewMac is the prices. Having to wait and poke around and rely on sales to get decent prices makes me look elsewhere often as so many items are overpriced except during the random sale. If prices were lower overall without all of the sales to navigate I’d be a happier customer. The customer service and most products are exceptional however so I keep coming back.

I bought a fret kisser - rocker set. The fret kisser doesn't work. Wrote them 2 month ago for a refund, still to this day nobody has replied to me. Extremely expensive tool that doesn't work! I will never order from them again for sure!!!

Update; Stewmac has taken care of my refund issues. I appreciate their efforts. I returned a $77.96 bridge plate (wrong size) for refund using an RMA issued by stewmack (There are no staff to speak with at stewmac, so the RMA came by email after I submitted a website bot request). After weeks of getting no notification from stewmac concerning the status of my return, I checked my order history on the stewmac website and found no record of my return or status on my refund. I tried to call but got a recorded message. stewmac does not have support staff answering calls so customers are forced to submit a bot request for assistance on the stewmac website. stewmac's policy is to respond to requests for help within 24 hours. if a customer has a problem that is time sensitive they are just out of luck. The products I have purchased from stewmac have generally been of good quality and thankfully I had no issues or questions that I couldn't work out on my own (until this refund issue), but the lack of a human being to speak with for account issues, product issues, or even advice before placing an order is troubling. As much as I like the stewmac product selection, I am sad to say that I am hoping to find another vendor with a better and more timely method of customer service. I may still purchase certain items from stewmac for which I am fairly certain I will need no customer support.

stewmac has a lot to offer. it's a great resources for guitar builders, hobbyists, etc. i have found that their prices are not always the lowest. often times, the same can be found on amazon for less. also, they charge for shipping and the charge is high. they attempt to have you join a vip type membership that gives you free shipping, but the membership is annual and unless you buy a lot from them, the cost benefit does not work. also, it took some time to receive my order. in an era when amazon can ship in 1 or 2 days and do it for free if you are a prime member or mostly for free if over a certain purchase amount, i find it difficult to be compelled to use stewmac as a primary resource. there are just too many cheaper alternatives available with $0 cost of shipping. sorry stewmac. I like you. but, i also like to save money
