Shoppers also mentioned frequently receiving damaged or defective items, missing components in home orders, and serious problems with delayed or incorrect shipments.
The minority of people were satisfied with the helpful staff, finding store employees polite and always ready to assist customers during busy shopping trips. Some reviewers were happy with surprisingly smooth online pickup orders and fair, highly competitive prices on various everyday products.

Thank you Target, for giving teachers a break in September. Most people have no idea how much money teachers spend on getting their students the materials and supplies they need. I really appreciated that teacher discount-and I felt a bit better about some of the things I bought for my classroom.
I looked up on the internet for the best waterproff, outdoor double sided taped. That stated Gorilla Double Sided heavy duty tape. BS. this tape did nold a small 7" x 11' meatl sign on a brick colom. The sign styes for about one hour. Upon checking. I discovered the sign did not stick to the brick wall as advertized. Gorilla Glue stated on there product it will Bond to Carpet, Ruggs, Flooring, Stone, metal Vinyl, Plastic, Paper & more! Not so. I do not recommend this item.
This was officially my last time shopping at Target. I used to come here all the time, but the quality and service have just dropped off a cliff.
Plenty of other places deserve my money.
With all the problems Target has lately and then their racist Halloween costume I should not be surprised that buying a pair of Meta glasses from these guys proved to be a total scam. I reported this to my credit card company twice for faulty product not as advertised target completely ignored the ACTUAL PROBLEM and instead responded and I quote “This transaction was authorized” never said it wasn’t!!! But for $326 I EXPECTED THESE TO WORK!!!! I repeat do not buy these glasses from Target they will mislead you and you will not get your money back. I’ve had to exchange the same glasses at least twice because none of them work these are supposed to be hands free they are not. I updated the software out of the box and the system entirely crashed on both devices. Target has no accountability or response and I even still have the box and the original receipt showing both returns. DO NOT BUY META GLASSES FROM TARGET GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY WILL SELL YOU BROKEN GLASSES AND THEN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.
Only reason they got one star is because you can’t go lower. Target has been on a death spiral for years and this is just one of the many latest examples of why. They’ve done and continue to do it to themselves. Target 15 years ago was the place to be Target 15 years into the present should be considered a felonious crime against humanity because it is always something if it isn’t some backwards far-right boot licking, it’s mistreating a core demo of their own store audience, OR selling broken items, OR MY PERSONAL FAVORITE !!! THE BARCLAYS CENTER STORE CONSTANTLY HAS OPEN GATORADES FOR SELL NEAR THE CHECKOUT. THEY DO NOT CARE THEY FLAGRANTLY LET PEOPLE COME IN DRINK UP THE DRINKS AND PUT THEM BACK. I SEEN IT MYSELF WALKING THROUGH THEIR NUMEROUS TIMES!!!!!!!
COUNT YOUR DAYS TARGET YOUR MISMANAGEMENT WILL BE THE END OF YOU.
Your service attendant and cashier are full of disrespect..I am no longer a Target shopper..20 min drive to shop at your store and get service that left a bad taste in my mouth..never again ..target on Cheyenne mountain rd. Blvd.
5 stars for the online ordering process
ZERO for pickup
Their system is seriously trash, constantly crashing with no fix. If it weren't for the factor they're literally $8 cheaper competing with Walmart, I'd do Amazon. Seriously Target - after the billions spent in 'upgrades' you still can't get it together.
My kids were on the kids cart and the worker ISAHA decided to pull the cart away from my kids and yelled around the store get off of that thing and they were not driving recklessly and the worker just pulled it away from them and yelled at them and said they were too big. Leave it for kids who actually need it leave it for other kids. They feel traumatized because they yelled across the whole store in front of everyone and their friends and they started crying because they were so mean they ruined our target trip!! THE TEAM LEADER!!!!
Target was offering a 20% (total) discount on gift cards.
Decided to sign up for the the circle master card for the 5% discount. Bought two $100 cards then every order after was cancelled. Even tried to pay with a debit card, cancelled. Made a $100 purchase for household items using my discounts, stuck in limbo. Will be cancelling this worthless CC as soon as it arrives. Also, the household items where more expensive then local store. Won't ever shop at Target again.
This is by far the worst retail establishment. Been in about 6 occasions to find that the prices never match the product. Always more expensive at registers than what said in the aisle where it is located. I will never be back in this place that loves to rip people off. Be very wary of what you grab.
I’ve been a Target customer for years. When Covid happened, I switched to on line ordering and curbside pickup. It has been a good option for me since it also addressed my limited mobility and allowed me to pick up my orders. Over the past year or so, my experience has been dissatisfaction for the most part. Rather than the Target employee placing my orders in the bags that I have placed in my trunk, and asking the associate to put my items in those bags, they just randomly throw them in the trunk. Items like frozen foods, dairy, etc. sweat from the humidity, bread gets mangled, cartons of eggs roll around the trunk, etc. As soon as I get home, I have to wipe everything before putting them away. Your marketing slogan ……..”and we will put your items in your bags” is not accurate. I now know why many of my friends have stopped using Target and curbside pickup.
The clown Halloween suit was not a mistake. I will not accept this apology. I hope you loose more billions of revenue. Its time for you to go out of business Target!!!!

Subject: Product Vetting Failure and Corporate Oversight
To Target Leadership,
While I acknowledge that Target has pulled the offensive, minstrel-style Halloween clown costume from its inventory, your company deserves no praise for cleaning up a mess of its own making. The fact that this racially charged caricature ever made it past your buyers and onto retail shelves is an absolute embarrassment. It exposes a profound disconnect between your corporate suites and the actual customers who keep your doors open.
This latest blunder proves that Target’s corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) frameworks are a complete failure. Your leadership uses DEI as a shield, yet your internal vetting remains entirely blind to glaring historical offenses. Instead of delivering basic, quality merchandise, your teams are so trapped in corporate echo chambers that they repeatedly greenlight tone-deaf products, alienate shoppers, and force the company into humiliating damage-control mode.
Designing a safe, popular Halloween product is not difficult. The history of clowning offers a massive repository of universally accepted imagery. Had your merchandisers looked at mainstream culture instead of hiding behind corporate checklists, they could have easily drawn inspiration from legitimate circus pioneers like Joseph Grimaldi or Lou Jacobs, mainstream icons like Bozo, or pop culture staples ranging from Krusty the Clown to horror titans like Pennywise or Art the Clown.
Instead, your company manufactured a design invoking painful racial caricatures, only to pull it the moment customers called you out. Target needs to stop hiding behind superficial corporate DEI strategies that clearly do not work, stop insulting the intelligence of your consumer base, and start paying attention to the people buying your products.
Ditch the broken corporate frameworks, fix your deeply flawed review process, and refocus your business on common-sense merchandising.
Sincerely,
Toni Abrokwah
Target Plus Terrible Customer Service And Missing Merchandise
I would strongly recommend avoiding Target Plus if you have another option.
The experience is misleading because you’re shopping on Target.com, but many items are actually sold through Target Plus third-party sellers, and Target does not seem to have a good system for managing problems when something goes wrong.
My order was supposed to arrive August 20 because I needed it by August 24. A week later, it still had not arrived. Had I known, I would have bought the items elsewhere or in person.
The worst part was the customer service. I had to fight to get my issue escalated, and the representatives were rude and unhelpful. I ultimately spoke with Vanessa at Target headquarters, who was extremely dismissive and essentially told me there was nothing Target could do and that I should contact the postal service myself.
Target Plus feels clunky and poorly managed, and the customer support does not match the level of accountability I would expect when purchasing through the Target website. I would not use Target Plus again.

Return: August 17, 2026
FYI
I am sharing my comments below that I sent to Target department store about a recent return regarding bedsheets and the awful chemical smell. The chemical smells can be harmful to your body.
Buyer beware of the merchandise you are buying not only at Target but other stores as well. Do your research on forever chemicals and chemicals odors in general that are found on most products sold in the US. These chemicals can cause cancer with usage overtime. As a cancer patient in remission I can tell the treatment process is horrible experience!!
Complaint Filed With Target:
Subject: Issue with Chemical Odors in Store Products and Poor Quality Bedsheets
I am writing to address a concern I have regarding the bedsheets I recently purchased from your store. Despite my efforts to air out the bedsheets and wash them thoroughly, the strong chemical odors persist. I also tried to buy different sheets from your company, only to find that they all had a similar harsh smell. This chemical scent was not limited to the bedding; I also detected it in the clothing items.
The additional time, money, and effort I have spent trying to rid the products of the chemical smell is unacceptable. The odor made me physically ill, causing a burning sensation throughout my body and raising my blood pressure. I had to use multiple fans in my home and car to try to eliminate the smell. Simply receiving a refund does not account for the inconvenience and costs incurred. As a cancer survivor, I am especially cautious about the products I use. The presence of these harmful forever chemicals, which are linked to cancer and other health issues, is alarming. I urge you to reconsider the use of such chemicals in your products and take action to rectify this issue. I had to purchase a air purifier to help with the odor and is unsure if that is doing a good job.
The United States needs to ban harmful chemicals from being sold like other progressive countries. There allegedly better way to get products that are not harmful when purchasing products from other countries. Greed is harming the citizens of this country.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A one is too many!!!!
I am …..done !!!!!!! One of theeeeee most racist businesses and they won’t change but I will !!! To exude the blatant racism and not even try to get better ……they are the devils and we as black people must come together and create our own !! We have the power and that’s what they despise of us !!!!!! From the first racial incident , with a black CHILD …beyond insulting and now another black young man !!!!!!! WE must utilize our GOD given ,CHOSEN power and stop suppporting the racism and hate amongst US !!!!!!! Recognize the power that we have , come together , and take what is meant to be ours !
I personally have not set foot in a Target for maybe 10 years. But my sister who is visiting ordered an item and had it delivered to my house in anticipation of her arrival. It was the wrong size, and the color was not true to the picture, so we tried to return it to customer service at a local store. What an awful experience: staff was rude, dismissive, seemed annoyed, would not give immediate credit to be used in store ("wait until refund goes back to your card"). Altogether it was an unpleasant experience. It will be either another 12 years (or never) before I buy anything from Target again.
Why does Target have to be constantly reminded about being offensive? In my opinion, they just don't care. Just one more thing, really! They can't pretend to be anything they are not. The clown Halloween suit was not a mistake. I will not accept this apology. Their buyers are very insensitive and enough is enough!
