UOB require a client to hire a legal representative from their list when discharging a mortgage. The legal representative checks your ID. The client signs a form for redemption of mortgage from client’s account. After completing the form, very late in the process, UOB declined to accept my signature as the one on file (10 years ago) didn’t match! What madness that UOB won’t accept their legal representative’s ID clearance of client. Since then delayed arrival of form (hard copy) at UOB office has led UOB to ask client to sign form again and post directly to UOB. Meanwhile client has spent £1000+ for UOB’s legal representative. Bureaucratic pedantry at its worst. I’m one disgruntled and unhappy client
UOB credit card cannot be linked to iPhone. Unlike other banks I cannot install UOB credit card in my iPhone. I also cannot make payments to apple iCloud using UOB card. This has been the issue the past year and surprisingly UOB customer service unaware of this issue
Apply for UOB credit card to get 20,000 miles. Tried applying online on 1 Sep multiple times and unable to process. Tried calling bank multiple times on 1 Sep and was told not sure why, to apply at branch. Visited SG branch on 2 Sep. Waited 1 hr to be served with only 3 customers in front of me! They took time to process my application in the two weeks that followed. I received my card in mid Sep and charged SGD6K. Was told to wait till Feb 25 to see if I get the miles. End up did not get. Tried my best to get the miles and was penalised because of bank's inefficiency. From Sep 24 to Mar 25, I have charged more than 5 figure to the card. So its time to stop using this lousy bank
Tried calling the Sri Petaling branch on 7/2/25 from 3.00 pm to 3.45 pm for close to x10 times and no one pickup the calls. Then on 10/2/25, gain called this branch from 10.00am to 10.45 am for more than x7 times, again no one pickup the calls. I think this Sri Petaling UOB branch customer service is still sleeping or taking long coffee breaks that's why they don't answer the phone calls. Better change this branch name to UOB coffee break branch. The most rotten service I encountered with UOB. UOB can check it with their HQ phone logs on 10/02/2025 whereby I have to called them instead and ask them to forward my request to the Sri Petaling branch and also a request for that branch to call me back . But even at 11.50 am today, they still haven't call back.
They are just appalling. Internet site down. Delays in receiving or transferring money. Hopeless mobile app. Ridiculously complicated security. Crap interest rates.
Came back to Thailand from an overseas trip and had to change overseas phone number back to Thai phone number. With Citibank this was done in a minute over the counter. UOB, which took over from Citibank last year, first made us wait for a good half hour (of 5 counters only two were serving customers). We then insisted to see someone who would change back our phone numbers and what happened was unreal. We were given 2 stacks of stapled pages to fill out with all our details and all tax details of anywhere around the world. We couldn't believe our eyes. Our passpoets were copied and signed. In the end when we made our disbelief known confronted with all that paperwork, the staff called customer services. They in the end did it for us but warned it would take 3 days for the new number to become active.
We are so fed up with this bank! Why use it?!
I was a Citibank Cardmember until UOB acquired the consumer retail including the credit card services close to two years ago. Great card to have for airport lounge in KLIA and secure overseas spending. However, I had heaps of problems with the telebanking service and my instalments, as a result I have totally lost confidence in asking for cash advance.
On 13th November, I paid a substantial sum to settle my remaining expenses and it wasn't posted, although subsequent expenses later that day and on 14th November, were captured. How is that possible? My statement showed more amount owing, called the bank, apparently system problem with posting (HARHAR) and I have to wait for another business day for the payment to be reflected. Why no announcement was made and I had to call up to check the missing payment ?
Come on UOB, I am sure you can do a better job than this ? I was faithful to Citibank for 30 years and I really hate to cut your card in half after such a short tenure.
Ppl said UOB is a top-notch foreign bank in malaysia but what they did was, charge me annual fee for OneCard that i have never used and activated and since i am not aware of this, they gave me the "2" head in the CTOS report even though the card is not activated.
NOW, i have issues with Credit/Loan application with local banks because of the CTOS(credit) report
Closing all account with this bank, as their top-notch service is making sure their customer daily life is like shit when they dont get the scam annual fee money (couple of dollars). Good thing they waived the fees but still left you wit shitty CTOS report
UOB Thailand is easily the worst bank.
I have been struggling with a credit card transaction dispute for over 3 months and the only reply I keep on getting per email from their call center is: “ Dear Sir, Thank you for your inquiry. Please be informed that we have already escalated your request to the responsible unit for further assistance. We will contact you as soon as possible.”
I have sent more than 20 emails and they never called me back. I have called the call center myself many times and I just keep on getting empty promises.
My email to their customer services got the following reply: “Thank you for your email. We will respond to your enquiry/request via email or phone call within 3-5 business days.” After one month I have not received a reply!
Never do business with UOB Thailand!
UOB Malaysia, i have been called and request to send the new card replacement to my new home address since early of Aug 2024. However, today almost 2 month i still not able receive the card. A bad experience as new UOB customer
UOB Thailand, probably the worst Bank in the world!
Not even sure if they would qualify as a Bank in other parts of world, it would be difficult for them to become much worse, well done Richard Maloney (new CEO)....
UOB Thailand is the worst that you could expect in Thailand. Even local banks do better...
Their technology is awful and barely working. Face recognition is not working, mobile app is really crap (how can they name it UOB Tomorrow when it's ice age app and functionalities??), Mobile banking only covers your cash accounts, they forgot that as a customer you may also want to track your investments (bonds are also not viewable in mobile app..),..
The least digitalised and green bank I ever had .. and everything single transaction must be done in the branch (yes, you hear it ... in 2024!!)
Let's not talk about their customer service and hotline as it's pretty much inexistent ... Staff lack of knowledge, not even capable to make an FX or international transfer (unless you're happy to spend a few hours - obviously - in their branch).
I barely can believe this bank is based in Singapore. It's just astonishing.. and no one seems to really care about customer feedback. They will slowly sink ..
When I was overseas in April, I filled the wrong Singapore arrival website which charged me $148. I called UOB to cancel my card and block the transaction. The UOB Call Centre person checked my account and told me that no money has been deducted yet. He assured me that my card will be blocked.
Since then, my UOB nightmare began. Despite me making a police report and going to the UOB branch 3 times to make sure that this has been settled, they called to inform me that the website I submitted to was a legitimate website and as such, I was not ‘scammed’ so they would not be returning the money deducted from this merchant.
In the first place I had already asked the CC man to block all transactions so how did this get through? Secondly, I was tricked into filling the form in the wrong website (It was 1st on the google list and had the words ‘Singapore arrival form’). As it was my first time filling this form online, I had no idea what the actual website looked like. Wasn’t I scammed?
If my card had been stolen and I called to cancel it, no transactions can go through, even if the card is used to purchase goods from legitimate retailers. I don’t see how my experience is any different.
I am extremely distressed and disappointed as I have done everything possible to ensure this transaction would not go through and yet it did. I honestly don’t know what else I could have done.
Exceptional service from Ma'am FELICIA! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 had an amazing experience and I'm so Thankful for the help she gave me. She went above and beyond to assist me with my issue, showing immense patience, empathy and expertise. She's a blessing!!! so worried and stress and I dunno if how they can help me, as i already called up one of their officer earlier and gave me advice but not to the extent that will help me settle my problem. As an UOB atm holder I feel so down hearing on the advice on that agent. But when I called up again and Ma'am FELICIA answered my call...she patiently listen and understand my concern. Get all the necessary details for the procedure and gave me the best and reasonable solution to my concern. I was so relieved!!! I feel like I want to cry! this is the kind of customer service everybody should experienced and company should have!!!! She's a blessing from above! My gratitude to her is boundless!❤️GOD BLESS U ALWAYS MA'AM FELICIA!
I call uob customers service 30x regarding saving was lost into my account i made a police report 2x and submitted but only uob saying they wont return the money that lost to my account ..sounds very annoying they send otp to my number and enter it to use it but the otp that uob given was ng enter to the transaction coz the number no more using very impossible that somebody enter the otp without the person acknowledge..ridiculious experience with uob and scary u keep saving money to your account but somebody very easy to access it even sending otp and no enter still can steal ur money inside
UOB Malaysia delivered the WORST Customer Service experience.
UOB Malaysia has given me the worst Customer Service experience in terms of Credit Card handling.
I’ve recently misplaced my credit card (only) while jogging nearby my condo, and I made a call immediately after I realised that I have lost the card.
During the call, I mentioned at least twice to the person on-call that I would prefer to pick-up the new card ASAP at any nearest branch to me. However, I received an SMS a week and a half later, saying that my new Credit Card has departed to be delivered to my doorstep. As convenience as it sounds, I specifically asked to pick-up to avoid any delivery-related issues, which has now happened since the Tracking Number I received was already slightly dubious, and now I still have yet to receive my Credit Card.
Once I receive my credit card in the upcoming week (hopefully), I will start processing a new Credit Card application from a different bank that I trust better.
UOB Thailand took over the customers from citi Thailand at the same conditions. It took 2 weeks, 5 hours of work, because NO ONE new at the branch in Pattaya how to make an international transfer.
The support from the so called "account manager" was more than week. And finally they charged me, even the transfer should be free of charge.
Open case under escalation for three months now. They are completely incapable of resolving it, even making up false statements trying to justify the issue. It’s an absolute circus. If you value your time, don’t bank with UOB!
Their Privilege service is taking longer time than a normal service. And their concierge line always under maintenance, redirect back to normal customer service line. They name they provide a privilege service for premium account holder, from my POV they are providing normal service only.
