After 6 years of paying them, without ever using them, they're declining to cover our new home because of minor issues like needing a few eaves repainted and a leak in a standalone outdoor shed. "Your home is too high-value for us to cover if it has any issues, even if they are minor". This is a beautiful, well-maintained house. Now 1 working day before closing, we're stuck. It took them over a week to get back to me with this decision. I would stay away, it seems like they will nit pick you and put you in a bad spot. They were all extremely nice while putting us in a bad spot though! Edit: Amica keeps calling me to try and get me to remove this review. I don't plan on spending MORE time on the phone with Amica. I moved on to a different insurance company who immediately covered our property and the quote was actually lower.

I’ve been loyal for 11+ years. Took a financial hit from November-July. I still managed to get my payments in. This last month I am not able to make my entire payment. I was willing to break the payment down into smaller amounts and show evidence that I was taking home half of what I make for the last 5 months. They said they couldn’t help me because the extended my payment date in May. They extended it by less than a week.

I've been an Amica policyholder for 51 years. They cover my autos and home. Any time I've called with questions they've been extremely nice about explaining answers their to me. I did have one auto claim when someone stepped out in front of me. Amica had no problem paying the hospital bills and I wasn't penalized for filing a claim.
