From the very beginning our travel agent Karen LaSala made the entire wedding planning process SO EASY for me. She gave me videos and tips on what resorts would be best for our wedding party. She was very quick to gather information needed from the resorts and get back to me right away.
We loved the fact that Karen was able to get all of our transportation done for all of our guests that booked through her, that made that part of the trip worry free for everyone going.
The only thing keeping us from giving Destination Weddings in general 5 stars was that we wish it was communicated a little more that our guests were allowed to price match and have payment options through Affirm from the beginning. This may have allowed more guests to have enough time to pay to come.
The weeks leading up to the wedding Karen was so helpful making sure the last minute details with the resort were ironed out. When we got home from our wedding in Cancun we were surprised with a very thoughtful gift from her.
Overall I would highly recommend Destination Weddings to help make your wedding planning nice and easy - where all you have to do is show up and enjoy your big day!

We used Destination Weddings for our wedding in April 2026 at the Fives Beach Hotel & Residences in Playa del Carmen. Brandie was amazing! She helped us find the perfect location and resort that truly fit our criteria. She was very quick to respond to our emails and supported us throughout the planning process with the resort.
I highly recommend her! We had an intimate wedding with about 20 guests, and it was such a relief to have her organize all the travel. It allowed us to focus on planning the wedding without the added stress.
A destination wedding is honestly the best—the decor and everything were simply beautiful. The wedding was absolutely perfect, and we couldn’t be happier.

Fives stars isn’t enough to describe how wonderful our experience with Christal was!! Working with her made our wedding planning go so smoothly. She did amazing at helping us navigate what we needed to do, helped us make decisions on what resort fit our budget and needs, and never once made us feel bad when we had guests changes! Working with our wedding group travel specialist, Andrea, was one of the best decisions we made during our planning process.
We actually booked our venue sight unseen based on her recommendation, which felt like a big leap at the time. But she had worked with other couples who absolutely raved about Fiesta Americana, and she was so confident in it that we trusted her. Looking back, we are so glad we did because it ended up being everything we wanted and more.
Andrea was incredibly attentive, responsive, and helpful every step of the way. Coordinating travel for a large group can get complicated fast, but she made the entire process feel smooth and manageable. She was always available to answer questions, guide our guests, and make sure everything stayed on track.
Our guests also had such a great experience working with her, which made a huge difference for us. It took so much pressure off knowing everyone was being taken care of.
If you’re planning a destination wedding, having someone like Andrea in your corner is invaluable. She truly helped bring everything together for us, and we couldn’t recommend her more.

If I had to grade my experience working with Destination Weddings, specifically Amy Boyce I would give it an all over A+ 100! I always expected this season of life to be absolutely joyous & perfect all the way through & it actually was not. My now husband and I experienced a lot loss during this season of life, our first fur baby, grandparents and a ton of grief and unexpected life. This took quite a toll on our planning and focus on our big day. From day 1 of being introduced to Amy Boyce she has been by our side day & night to offer guidance, answer all of our questions & be there for us in whatever way possible. With everything that we have gone through I would not change one thing about this experience and working with Amy. Other than her professionalism, she is kind, understanding & so very supportive. She remained flexible with us throughout our whole experience. She was extremely attentive, not only to us, but to all of our guests as well. She went over and above to ensure everything surrounding our trip and our wedding went smoothly. I cannot recommend working with her enough! We are officially back and almost recovered from one of the BEST trips we've ever been on! Impressions Moxché was absolutely phenomenal and we are beyond happy that we ended up splurging and staying there.
We absolutely loved the attention to detail, the decor, the drinks and the service! Everything was great at the Secrets side as well, but especially on the Impressions side. We could really feel the elevated service and detail there. OMG and the FOOD! WOW! We would have never guessed that it was an all inclusive resort with the quality of food all over both resorts. The resort was everything we had imagined and more to say the least. 11/10!

I had an extremely poor experience with Destination Wedding and our assigned travel agent, Alexandra.
Alexandra was largely unresponsive to anyone except the bride, which caused unnecessary stress for the entire wedding party. Emails and messages routinely went unanswered for weeks at a time, leaving guests without critical information about their travel.
She failed to double-check bookings until just days before departure. At that point, she informed me that my last name was missing from my booking — and then ghosted me for four days. Because of this delay, I was forced to pay an additional $600 for a name change that could have easily been avoided with timely communication.
Payment handling was also disorganized. After submitting my payment form, I was not charged for over two weeks with no explanation or confirmation, adding more confusion and concern.
When our flight was cancelled due to weather, Alexandra again became completely unresponsive. As a result, many of us had no choice but to purchase new flights on our own just to make it to the wedding. To make matters worse, she did not verify return flights, and several guests discovered they had no flight home at all. Multiple bookings also contained incorrect passenger names.
Additionally, the wedding party was supposed to travel together, but we were booked on the wrong flights and separated. This led to last-minute scrambling, stress, and logistical chaos right before the wedding — something no couple or wedding party should have to deal with.
Alexandra repeatedly disappeared during critical moments, leaving the bride to manage crises she should never have had to handle. Overall, this was awful service, extremely stressful, and completely unacceptable for a destination wedding company.
I would not recommend Destination Wedding or Alexandra to anyone.

We worked with DestinationWeddings.com and our assigned agent Tanika for our destination wedding. While the hotel research and venue connection were strong and pricing overall was fair, there have been serious booking and billing issues. I actually want to give a 2.5 stars.
Room Booking Issue (twice):
A guest booked a Basic Junior Suite as advertised but was later charged for a higher-priced Tropical View Suite with the basic suite title. We were told the Basic Junior Suite on the adults-only side is unavailable—yet it is still listed as available on the Destination Weddings website. This is misleading. The guest booked in good faith and was later blindsided by a higher charge. These issues have been resolved but should have never happened, much less happen twice.
Promotional Credit & Deposit Issue:
We were advised our group rate deposit would not be applied until all guest rooms were paid, yet it was applied anyway despite not all guests having completed payment. This contradicts what we were told.
Additionally, our signed contract clearly states that the Destination Weddings promotional credit (up to $2,500) is to be applied to the couple’s room invoice at final payment, with any overpayment refunded. At minimum, we qualified for $1,250, but there was no documentation showing the credit was applied before the deposit was used. Instead, the deposit was applied first, effectively eliminating the promotional benefit without notice—not consistent with the contract.
We were also told that credits are issued after the wedding, but hotel-issued perks and the Destination Weddings promotional credit are separate. The latter is explicitly contractual and meant to be applied at final payment.
We are still dealing with this issue with Tanika being dismissive of my understanding of the contract. We have not come to a resolution yet which I hope to soon. But I am not keen on working with Tanika anymore. I’m worried because of these issues, if we even have our rooms booked properly.
With our wedding 2.5 months away, these inconsistencies have caused unnecessary stress. Destination Weddings has strengths, but the lack of transparency around room availability, deposits, and contractual credits makes it difficult to recommend without strong caution.
I would be willing to revise my review if we come to a strong resolution to these issues because it would show me that despite these problems, they are willing to make things work for our benefit. I don’t expect perfection but I do expect good customer service and strong problem solving, instead of short replies and dismissive tones.
8/7 UPDATE: If I could give them 0 stars, I would!! Come my wedding week, a couple of my guests had trouble checking into their rooms and ended up in the wrong rooms at higher prices! When I tried to get help, Tanika said to “reach out to the emergency line” and stopped responding completely. The help also didn’t do anything either!! Now it’s been 3+ months since my wedding and we still haven’t received our reconciliation credits and promotional offers that was promised! We will be getting a lawyer and SUING destination weddings for withholding our refunds/credits as well as overcharging a couple of my guests for basic rooms! DO NOT USE DESTINATION WEDDINGS!!

Our destination wedding was truly a dream come true, and Maggie Elles played a huge role in making that happen. She was incredible to work with—so responsive, organized, and genuinely caring toward both us and our guests. Maggie joined multiple Zoom calls to ensure every detail was perfectly communicated and even continued assisting with vendors after the wedding, which went above and beyond our expectations.
Having transportation included made the booking process nearly carefree for our guests, which was a huge plus. The only challenge we experienced was that the Destination Weddings website was frequently under maintenance, which caused some booking issues for guests at times. Thankfully, Maggie was always there to help resolve any concerns.

The arrangement started off well and we were happy to have the ability to subsidize the costs of our guests, which our venue/resort did not offer. However, the tide quickly changed once we signed the contract, and there became lots of pressure on our wedding guests to pay quickly, almost 5 months in advance, and to purchase travel insurance just to extend the payment deadline. They also tried to add in undisclosed costs to our guests room rates for things like transportation, which we never asked for. There were unreasonable timelines to pay deposits, and sneaky tactics like making our guests upgrade to bigger, more expensive rooms simply for having a baby, which should not count toward room capacity imo. Super disappointed with the arrangement.

And, airport transfers are typically included in the travel package but can be removed if you wish. Your Specialist should/would have explained this prior to you signing the contract. Nonetheless, we apologize this caused frustration. Regarding the room occupancy restriction, that is put in place by the resort and unfortunately we have no control over those policies. Terrible communication actually barely any at all, and terrible follow up. Booked a room with them for my sister's wedding only to show up and find out I had no reservation because Nessa who I booked with completely dropped the ball and was probably fired. Stay clear of this company unless you are looking to be stressed out.
Worst part is when I tried to contact them, by calling and texting, they just ignored me. Never have I had this bad of service.
