What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggled with unhelpful support agents, automated replies, and extremely long waiting times when trying to resolve technical issues. Many people also reported receiving faulty equipment or experiencing sudden hardware failures shortly after purchase, accompanied by frustrating warranty claims. Reviewers expressed deep disappointment over the lack of proper solutions and communication when seeking help.
The minority of people were satisfied with the efficient after-sales service, noting smooth communication and fast product replacements. Some reviewers noted that their broken devices were thoroughly investigated, quickly repaired, or swapped without incurring extra costs.

DJI Mic - not plug n play.
I received the first DJI Mic - out of the box it just kept failing to update. I tried everything on every forum and ended up updating the firmware 7 times - it failed to update and the same error.
DJI website help was useless. You are left totally alone.
I swapped the product with reseller. The new one arrived and it worked - right out of the box. Until 10 minutes in on my iPhone a pop up came up saying it was a headphone. From that point on the audio failed to work as the iPhone saw it as a headphone and not a Mic.
I removed it - replaced it - and it just stopped working.
I went to every forum - no help - but hundreds of complaints about the same thing. And DJI "ducking their responsibility" to fix it and help it.
So not encouraged. In the end I turned off the phone - tried in multiple phones ... and it suddenly worked again ... no explainable reason why.
Sound quality okay (when it works) but not top end audio. So I recommend staying away from this product. I'm shocked as reviews had been good, and DJIs other products I have work just fine. But I guess they are just not an audio company. Go for a well known audio brand is my suggestion.
DJI - sort your after sales service out please.

After 2 years had a faulty barometric unit and send it to DJI for repair. All super organized: label for sending it, regular updates on the status, good offer for repair cost and got it back in no-time and while I just received the package a call if I was satisfied and had further questions. When I opened the box I found out that the whole Mavic-Mini was replaced with a new one. Well organized!

I am a 15 yr old student and have a Dji Mini 3 fly more combo with the Dji RC controller. I have also had a Dji Mavic mini. T have had no problems with both of these drones and also find them very reliable and use full for my photography which i do for a GCSE.

Hi, Boyd. We are grateful for your feedback and support here. Should you need to contact us for any reason, please know that we are always here to help. Thank you for choosing DJI.
I bought two DJI OSMO pocket cameras from B&H in 2019. I live in Georgia. I needed the cameras for a project we were doing, but the project had been delayed when the cameras arrived. I put the unopened boxes in storage. Then the pandemic happened and our NGO stopped operating for a while. Now we started working again and needed to use the OSMO Pocket cameras, however they wouldn't turn on. We thought the batteries had died in storage without being charged, however when we send the devices back to DJI they said that the cameras were out of warranty (we knew that) and the problem was actually the core board on both devices. The cost of one core board is 122$ and repair cost is 65$ (in contrast replacing the battery costs 30$ all together) We were shocked and requested an explanation and all we got was a 30$ discount. The devices haven't been used at all. It was not our fault the core board malfunctioned therefore we are not required to pay for damage done by DJI, B&H or any transportation company. Plus we haven't received any justification for the issue. It could be something else altogether. we've requested our devices back and do not recommend purchasing anything from DJI online or contacting their support. We are very disappointed that such a big company resorts to this sort of behavior.

Dear Bachi, we are sorry for the unpleasant experience. We are able to locate your case in our system, and we will double confirm your case with our local team, we will keep you updated.
Update: Hi Bachi, we had double confirmed the case with the engineers. It is because Core Board was malfunctioned, which caused failure to charge. Sorry that when the product is beyond the warranty period, a paid service is required. Hope for your kind understanding.
According to the case, you requested the product to be sent back to you without repair, right? The local team will help with this. Please contact us via email if you still have further concerns, we will try our best to help.
At first I was very disappointed that I couldn‘t get the DJI Mic lighning adapter separately after I broke it by accident as it was always sold out on the website. Today i tried to write the support again and this time they offered me to send me one free off charge right away. Hopefully it will arrive soon. Thanks for the support.
Update: it has been 2 and a half weeks and I still haven‘t received anything
Update: Got it after writing the support again. Long process but at least I have it now.

Then I tried to transfer my care plan to the new equipment from my faulty equipment
11 email later trying to convince dji that it has been exchanged and the email address from the supplier still can not fly as the new equipment has to be registered with in 48hrs
Update after much confusion I have my careplan transferred
Thank you
PS the DJI Drones are very good

Concerning a technical issue with my drone. I sent the drone in to be tested and hopefully fixed. The customer service representative that tried to relay what the technicians had done to test my drone treated me like I was an idiot. He was rude, did not have the answers to questions I asked about the tests run, and acted like I shouldn’t have any questions or concerns. He had a “take it as it is” attitude and not a helpful “I understand your concern let me see what I can do” attitude. I wish I could have just talked to the technician who actually is working on my drone and not this person who should not be in customer relations for so many reasons. Lack of decorum, lack of knowledge, he talked too fast with a heavy accent and was annoyed when I asked him to please repeat himself, he got frustrated rather than helpful with questions and had an overall bad attitude. Makes me want to switch drone manufacturers.

First-time customer. Poor experience. I wish I'd checked Trust Pilot before buying. When a customer buys a product that costs ~£500 and it turns out to be faulty, it should be replaced ASAP. You do not make the customer jump through hoops and leave them out of pocket with no product! Try telling that to DJI.
My order arrived quickly to be fair. I bought the new Mini 2 SE last Thursday and it arrived the following Monday. Unfortunately on my 2nd flight, the drone sensors failed resulting in the drone slamming into the ground, as a result, it was catastrophically damaged. The flight records in the DJI Fly app clearly show that the sensors failed during the flight. There are a dozen sensor failure errors moments before the drone became unresponsive and crashed. Luckily it didn't hurt anyone! The drone is less than 48 hours old and is now unusable.
I raised a warranty replacement ticket with DJI. They responded a day later asking me to return the drone. I expected them to offer an immediate replacement. The flight records are synced to DJI so they can see what happened and clearly the drone was faulty. They have not offered a replacement, instead, I have to wait for them to receive the drone and repair it. The return address is in the Netherlands hence it will be a week before they receive it and then who knows how long before I have a drone in my hands. This is poor customer service. The product is faulty, they should replace it, no questions asked. I bought the drone direct from DJI. If I'd bought a product from Argos that turned out to be faulty, they would replace it, no questions asked. A reputable company would not make the customer wait weeks for the product to be repaired.
So now I am £500 out of pocket and currently have nothing to show for it. Very poor customer service. No reputable company that I know of works this way. I hope another company challenges them in the sub-250g drone area, maybe then they will improve their customer service.
I'll update this review when I receive my repaired drone and will update how long the process has taken. Currently, I am a very disappointed customer and DJI doesn’t care.
EDIT - Reply to DJI… Yes, the drone does not have Obstacle Avoidance but it does have visual sensors on the bottom to prevent the drone from slamming into the ground... these clearly didn't work on this occasion. The pilot can pay attention as much as possible but when products fail, there is not much the pilot can do. The drone has a barometer that I understand is used to determine the height of the drone relative to where it took off from. The flight record reports this error… "Barometer initialization failed. Restart aircraft (Code: 30042).; Aircraft max power load reached. Decrease altitude and fly with caution. If this issue persists, land immediately (Code: 30168)."… multiple times just before it crashed. The manufacturer should pay attention to quality control and not send faulty products to its customers!
Warm prompt, brand new products don't have faulty sensors and then crash uncontrollably into the ground! Also, if you have "managed data analysis" already then you will know that the drone was faulty and a replacement should be on its way now, not making the customer wait 2 weeks!
EDIT 03/04/23 - Upgraded to 3 stars. DJI eventually replaced the faulty drone. I have tested the replacement and it currently works correctly, as you'd expect for a product that cost nearly £500. The overall experience could've been much better and I hope DJI use this feedback to improve their service for future customers.

Dear customer, we feel sorry to read about the crash of your drone, we understand that must be frustrated for you.
We are able to locate your case number in our system. Please rest assured, we have managed data analysis to find out the reason of the crash because the drone is within the warranty period.
If it is a warranty case, we can proceed a replacement for you as the drone is within 15 days of receiving the product.
A warm prompt, if you were referring to the Obstacle avoidance sensor, Mini 2 SE does not equip with an Obstacle Avoidance system, so pilots may need to pay attention to the flight environment.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
Update: Thank you for your additional information. We are sorry for any confusion caused, we will need to receive the drone first then proceed with data analysis and provide the replacement for you once it is confirmed the drone's issue.
Please rest assured, we had taken note of your case and the local team will help to take care of the case as soon as possible when they receive the product. We will also keep following your case until all is sorted.
This review boils down to 2 main points;
Firstly, the item itself. The Osmo Action 3 has a known issue where there focus when doing closer shots (< 50cm) on some batches is not as clear as other cameras, which was fixed on later models. Taking this into account this I took the chance and bought the camera in the knowledge that, at the very least I would be able to get a replacement that should fix these issues. Apparently not, as one customer service rep has told me this is actually a "quirk" of their camera, one they don't make note of anywhere. I get it, it's an action camera, for recording action shots and large landscapes, and I would normally concede that this would not be a big problem for most people, but the set I ordered came with a selfie stick in the box, and one that is less than 50cm long when at its shortest, suggesting that it should be able to deal with these kinds of shots and actually encourages you to take them with the items included in the box. It seems odd and a bit disingenuous that the camera contains a "feature" that means details are lost when using an item that is sent out with a combo pack that they sell on their own website.
Secondly, I spoke to 2 customer service people. The first on their live chat who, after jumping through some hoops agreed that my camera was indeed out of focus as I had suggested and arranged for me to send it back to them for a replacement. Once they had received it I received a phone call saying actually, there is no issue and the focus issue is actually a "quirk" of the camera. So mixed signals from the CS team and I'm not quite sure what to believe. They eventually agreed to send out a new unit but not after a conversation where they suggested either sending back the same unit I sent to them or suggesting alternative cameras from their line. It just seems as though, although there was a case number assigned to me, nobody bothered reading the notes held within or warned me of the potential issue when I first enquired.
The reason I gave 2 stars is the people in CS themselves are fine and are just doing their job and they do it fairly well. It’s just a shame that the job is putting them in the line of fire due to the company’s inability to either fix a problem or inform the public of said problem and it really tainted my experience with them.

Turnaround time was great, but website has a progress report issue that isn't being used or doesn't work, I tried checking the progress with the case number and it says that it is not available and it was like this all the way up to me receiving the unit back. On top of that, I sent my drone in with my custom hard case so it wouldn't be damaged during processing, but they sent my drone/new drone back without it. But I contacted them and they were very helpful and I got it back, not a huge issue because everyone makes mistakes but just something to point out. From reading a few bad reviews I was skeptical but didn't know who to trust from other repair companies and figured if anything I should be able to trust the manufacturer right? All in all I would send it back again for future repairs. Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have the website progress report issue and the not receiving the hard case back deal

DJI is a chinese company. But aside from that, they make awesome drones, especially consumer camera drones. When you buy, don't buy directly from them. Do it thru Amazon or B&H. Sure, there are alternative manufacturers, but they will likely be more expensive for what you get. I've owned 6 DJI drones now, ranging from the mini 1 to the fpv drone. They are quality products. A lot of things I'd like them to change, but there is not enough room here for all my gripes. :-) But if you get one of their drones, spend some time learning to use it safely, and within the law, you are unlikely to be disappointed. I'm trying to decide now whether to get the Avata fpv or the Mini 3 Pro.

Before I begin, I should clarify that I do not consider myself to be a "professional pilot," but I did discover that this drone is simple to fly.
I'll start by responding to the crucial question, "Do I need an iPhone to fly this drone?"
Not much, but using an iPhone is simpler.

I am very disappointed with the batteries, well only 2 actually charge the other 1 will not hold charge and will not charge fullstop. I purchased the dji mini 2 with extra batteries at extra cost to me to enjoy the experience for longer than 1hr roughly now I am a battery down. The battery is showing on my screen as defective and it is meant to be brand new. Be careful. After a couple of not really informative responses I am just going to buy another battery and stick with my 2 * rating.

Use the forum if you have an issue, forget DJI direct.
If you have a problem with a DJI product, you will be dealing with a bot...yes so good luck with that.
There is however, a much better alternative. Join the forum and speak with humans that also have DJI products, and there you will most likely get your problem resolved. So although DJI want nothing to do with any issues, you can rely on decent people not related to DJI, to help you.

After seven drones I have lost all confidence in DJI
I have lost all confidence in DJI. Their service has become atrocious, and, after seven drones purchased, I will never buy another drone from them again. They lost my repair for three months and refused to accept responsibility...until they found it. They said my drone was not a flyaway when I WATCHED IT FLY AWAY. There used to be care for the customers, but now it's just the same atrocious service, outsourced, of course.

Hi there, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please provide us with the reference number such as ticket number(#111111) or case number(CAS) number? We will do our best to help.
Update: Upon checking your case, we noticed that you've paid for the repair and the drone has been shipped and the package was delivered on 2022/10/18. May I ask if you've received it?
I bought an osmo action a couple of years ago and have used it periodically. It was a good upgrade from my older GoPro, at the time and has worked well on dry land (although the FoV is pretty poor). I also have a Mavic Pro and Osmo Gimbal. Last week I took the Osmo Action to Madeira and made the mistake of using it in the water. It leaked and died. The battery compartment looked shut but clearly hadn't sealed at both ends. There are two catches on the battery compartment and, whilst the battery looks flush, the clips don't always close (apparently). From looking online this appears to have been a recognised problem. The camera is now dead. It appears that DJI have just launched a new version (Osmo action 3) which has a completely different design. Annoyingly I had also bought a load of extra batteries and ancilliaries to fit the now dead camera. These will not fit a replacement as the new version has been improved to correct the problem leakage problem. I spoke with DJI customer support about my lack of confidence in buying an Action 3 as replacement, since I cannot be confident that the camera will not have its own issues. The customer support were quite clear that the original problems had now been fixed. The point is that the original camera should not have had such a flaky design regarding the battery closure. I am now left having to replace the camera at the full price of a new one. Also, the spare batteries I invested in are useless. My options are paying DJI more money to replace something that failed or going back to GoPro, In reality I'm not confident about buying another OSMO and see no incentive from DJI to reward loyal customers. I'm also in the market for a new drone. I think the gopro hero 11 has a better image quality and the new sensor size seems very practical. It looks like I'll be swapping brands in the next couple of weeks (or even on Black Friday?)
Reply from DJI2022-09-22
Hi, there. We are greatly sorry to hear about that. Please note that Osmo Action must be sealed while used underwater. If the USB-C cover/battery release button I/battery release button II is not tightened during usage, the waterproof function will not work. It is recommended that you pay more attention to the surrounding environment in the process of use. Besides, since the Osmo Action 3 adopts a completely new design, it is more suitable for Cycling, skiing, & diving, and has a new functional upgrade which may lead to the incompatibility of some accessories of different products. As for your feedback, we have also fed it back to the relevant engineers. Thank you for your support and understanding.
I have a Red Mavic Air, have done for many years; and have always highly rated DJI on their quality and customer service over the years.
I've had many fantastic experiences with my drone and some not so great.
I went on a trip away to Wales the other week with friends and the app just kept crashing on my phone every time I tried to use it.
I use the DJI Go 4 app and my friend uses the DJI Fly as he has a newer Mavic Pro model; he also had the same issue with his.
We done all the usual things of restarting the phone, reinstalling the app, trying different versions through other websites as the one on DJI's did not work, still to no result.
We both have Galaxy 21 and 22 models, flagship phones and I find it completely unacceptable that a company worth an estimated 15 billion dollars, does not fix these issues immediately!
Ultimately, the holiday is now passed and I am through giving DJI second chances for such an premium product.
Like I said, I rate them so highly when the drones work, but when they don't, it's just a huge kick in the teeth and for that, I would never buy one again. I want to be able to use it, when I want to use it, not have to troubleshoot for an hour, only to end up at the same place I first started.
I totally get when phones get updated that apps need the same, but this is not exactly a small company anymore...these issues should be fixed within the first few days, not weeks or months down the line.

I have the mavic air, and even though it is a fantastic drone, I regret the purchase. Due to needing sight saving eye surgeries the last thing on my mind was the batteries on my drone.
I am now able to use my drone but two out of the three batteries of the fly more combo are totally dead. Not in hibernation, but dead.
They now cost £69 each to replace which is a ridiculous state of affairs for a so called intelligent battery.
A single battery is not enough, and I'm reluctant to spend so much money when it could happen again if I need to put the drone away for any period of time.
Be aware of the really needy battery regime.
I looked online to make contact about this but there wasn't a phone number or email address I could find and the Facebook support page just sent you round in circles.

Update: Hi, there. Thank you for your reply. Please note that there are chemicals in the battery. Since we cannot wholly reproduce your usage scenario and storage environment, we cannot directly determine the cause of this problem.
