I bought shares in a company and paid all the fees immediately and in full. Over the course of 6 months the company in question proceeded to have a share buy back in which EquityZen took part and automatically sold 2.5% of all holdings. This included 2.5% of my shares also. Now weeks later after multiple calls and emails l still have not received my payment for the sale of my shares. I do not believe that Equity Zen is a scam, nonetheless be warned this is the type of service you should now expect to receive: no communication (despite a mandate of a response in 24 hrs), unanswered phone calls, no payment / Distribution when you are owed money!

While equityzen has a very good process when you buy private stocks , Biggest challenge with distribution. They don’t show any responsibility in updating you with the distribution proceeds. They handover it to Morganstanely and after that no one know when they will complete distribution.

This is the second transaction I've completed with EquityZen and both went very smoothly. The email notifications for companies on my watch list (or related companies) has been invaluable to keep me aware of any new offers. What I also really appreciated is that I've been working with an EquityZen Private Markets Associate (Charlie Joslin) who has always been available to answer my questions and provide additional status updates so that I feel very comfortable buying through EquityZen.
Very clean and professional execution when securing and closing the investments. Could get more lucrative investments. Not many great companies included early. I had to get my SpaceX and Anthropic from another company. I faced a couple of RoFR. This was a not so great part of the experience. Especially since my money was locked out a period of time. Overall EquityZen is still my go to company if the investment is available.
Very poor design of web site hard to get documents the quarterly statements are all intermingled not sorted by calendar. Cannot add other users like my tax accountant The tabs of Investment account etc are no intutive.
