My children used LingoAce for a year, the service was not as expected. Firstly we found out our teacher quite often not correct homework well, for example didn’t point out grammar mistakes and also some spelling mistakes. Then sometimes they missed classes and there is no one inform parents in advance. They said the system will send you messages or email but never received. It’s not an online class I would recommend to my friends.

Hi Haifan. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're very sorry that this has been your experience. Please DM me your ID or email us at [email protected], we could track the case and provide better service and experience to our customers.
Experience and professional teacher that brings the lessons interesting and easy to comprehend for the student. Just that uploading the homework is quite a chore.
The teaching material and teacher-student interaction was great.
However, there seem to be constant hiccups in playing the audio from the video during the class, as well as during assignment.
Crappy app experience! ! Learning language requires tons of practice. Unfortunately, Lingoace app has poor voice recognition system and homework lacks of interactive activities. The app response is so slow. I have good wifi connection in my area. Secondly, your bonus classes can't be refunded. That means, they only
refund you with the original class fees plus
3% processing fee of the amount of refund. You pay 3% of credit or debit card processing fee for enrollment as well. The staff are generally friendly, but procrastinate your refund process. This is really frustrating. The only thing I would give one star was my girl's Chinese teacher was excellent. I are feeling so regretful about referring this company to a few of my friends. Not recommended for sure!

Hi Pauline. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're very sorry that this has been your experience. To help better explain our refund policy, we can only refund what was paid. Bonus classes are free classes added to your class package as part of a limited-time promotion.
On the fees, we do charge a 3% administration fee for processing refunds. For purchasing classes, we do offer three different payment options (some variations by region) including direct deposit, Zelle and credit cards. Unfortunately, most major credit cards do come with a 3% fee.
Their major course is excellent and I actually enjoyed teaching it. The problem came from their subpar ELA course that they sell even though the courses are severely lacking and oftentimes incomplete. This leads teachers to not be able to teach the material as expected. It's not our job to create curriculum but they blame the teachers anyway and I was one of them. They decided to not renew my contract after I informed them of the flaws with the ELA course. As of May 15, LingoAce is illegally withholding my final
paycheck after denying my contract renewal without notice
of cause. They failed to give me a reason for not renewing
my contract and now they are withholding my final pay
knowing that it will not accumulate to $100.00 because they
aren't renewing my contract. There's no way for me to work
more hours to make the "minimum" for the deposit and they
know that. They are making pathetic excuses not to pay me for the time I teach, they have zero teacher empathy making this company one of the worst on the market. If you teach with them only teach math and Major course. The ELA course is NOT complete even though they keep trying to sell it. They know it's incomplete and poorly made, too because they kept asking for teachers to review it, but they decline your contract renewal if you criticize the materials. They punish you if a parent complains and do zero investigation even though some complaints may be racist in nature. They just punish the teacher and ignore any inquiries or feedback from teachers to improve the teaching experience. DO NOT TEACH HERE!

Tried out the trial lesson after hearing some good reviews. The lesson was interactive (with games and videos to catch the child’s attention) and teacher was very engaging as well. My son enjoyed the lesson!
Patient and fun teachers who made online lessons engaging.
Suitable for basic to immediate level children who want some exposure to the Chinese language through fun-based learning.
Schedule problem! My daughter has been doing chinese class on Saturday 8.30 am. We bought a package for the whole year. Now, all the classes were canceled with unknown reason.

Hi Saranya, apologise for your experiences. We noticed you had reviewed LingoAce three times but didn't leave your LingoAce ID for us tracking your problems. Could you send over LingoAce ID thus we can solve your problem effectively? Thanks.
The student numbers are very low even when opening a large number of sessions on your schedule. The company makes excuses about sending payment to teachers. Firstly we have to wait two weeks to receive our payment from the company. When payment is not received they blame the recipient bank and tell you it will cost you some fees to send the payment a second time. They also have no accurate system to record when teachers sell a trial class, or when classes are cancelled last minute by students, so we have to contact them about all this to make sure we are paid correctly. Very unprofessional company with highly disorganised systems. Cannot trust them to pay you correctly or to pay you at all.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the payment process. It is our priority to ensure that all our teachers are paid accurately and on time.
Regarding the delay, it was found that there was a setback with the bank transaction. We kindly ask all our teachers to double-check their bank details when submitting them to avoid such issues in the future.
We are glad to confirm that the payment has been processed successfully. Our team is committed to maintaining clear and prompt communication, especially concerning payment matters. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter and are dedicated to improving our systems to serve you better.
Should you have any further concerns or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
LingoAce
My child had an engaging experience during the trial class with Qian Laoshi.
I find the interaction with the company’s consultant, Ms Peggy, seamless and efficient. She’s very punctual with replies and shares clear information.

Thank you for your feedback! Hope the kid will enjoy the journey with LingoAce and Chinese;)
I submitted my application to teach at this company. Firstly, I find it peculiar that an Asian company has an American interviewer assessing candidates. It raises concerns for me. Secondly, why is the interview scheduled for 30 minutes? It makes me question the depth of their evaluations. Furthermore, it's quite bizarre to have a 55-year-old American woman posing as a student during the role-playing segment of the interview. If that wasn't off-putting enough, the interviewer was strange, awkward, and didn't smile. Is this the standard for your top-notch teachers? I'm not inclined to work for a company with such practices, and I can only imagine how dissatisfied customers might feel.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Our 30-minute assessments mirror real class scenarios to provide a realistic teaching experience. We use experienced adult teachers as students for effective evaluation, a common practice in online education. Should you have any further feedback, please reach out to us at [email protected]
My daughter has been with LingoAce studying mandarin for over a year now. The quality of the lessons is good and the teacher is engaging. My daughter is in a lesson with a boy. We were considering renewing but they are now asking $1000 for a year which is too much for us. This is why I have only given 3 stars because they have become too expensive.

Hi Mr Mark, thank you for you comments. We have different packages and you should have different options. Could you send me your LingoAce ID thus we can check and solve your issues?
I like the teacher there(for the teacher I will give a close to 5 star). But I don't like the way they handle customers and sales. If you want a fair price from them, you have to share their posts or contribute to their marketing in some other ways (I did share their posts on wechat to get free lessons, which is low of me as I have disturbed my surroundings with things they are not interested. Aren't everyone be bombed enough with irrelevant ads? ).I guess this is a common strategy for such a company in the kids learning field. But this one is different (maybe lower?) than giving a one-time incentive for referrals (such as you see on Outschool, Italki and other platforms) , because it plays with your psychology at a deeper level and this strategy is built in their pricing and stated/treated as their policy. Sometimes I wonder is this fair play?

Appology that the referral promotion makes you feel bad. This is not compulsory, but thanks for your feedback. We will re-think how to make it not that promotional. Thanks!
I did not require the entire package. So the Lingoace team told me that the remaining classes will be refunded. When I requested the team stopped responding and have not refunded the amount.

Sorry for the late reply. If this is still not refunded, please send me your LingoAce ID and I will follow up on this.
Teacher Application Process + Platform Issues
After going through LingoAce's grueling interview process for the role of ESL teacher, I felt the need to review the company based on my experience. Firstly, I felt like my "teacher trainer" was unhelpful and merely there to check boxes off. Their guidance was unhelpful and they often missed things or didn't notice things (just seemed checked out). The company needs to reconsider who they hire for this "teacher trainer" role and find people who are more receptive to helping applicants. Secondly, the platform is unintuitive and there are far too many slides, especially during the chant. As the teacher, the platform felt very clunky and difficult to navigate. They'll need to update and streamline their system to be on par with other platforms like VIPkid, Cambly, and (formerly) Qkids. Thirdly, the application process was too demanding, especially as someone who teaches full time during the day. I do not have time to sit and figure things out or make a background or figure out lighting or do all these extra things. I did though and it met their standards but they still didn't hire me! Thanks for wasting my time LingoAce!! Please find a way to streamline the process for prospective hires so we don't have to waste more time than necessary.
