unbelievably good built, on the back side the blades are a bit thick, so some things are not so easy to slice extremely thin.

That they are getting a great piece of functional art. when I use the knife ,once cleaned I put it away in my drawer
I have only 1 comment about the sheats,they are not very useful in a kitchen,because when I clean it ,I don't put it in the sheath ,I put it away in the drawer with all the cutlery...I would like to have a special putaway"stand"made of some kind of Japanese wood that we can put it on the counter...thanks for giving me this oppertunity. 👍🏼

The design of the knife has a very…poorly thought out
⁸The design of the knife has a very pointy and sharp edge, very close to the handle.
Making for a high likelihood of cutting ones self.
Very cool aesthetics wise,
Not so much safety wise.
Other than that,
Very happy with the knife.
I took a grinder to the area of concern,
And eliminated it.
Shouldn't have to do that.
Better blade design is suggested,
As an upndate, I have purchased several of the matsato,knives
Chefs knife
Meat Cleaver knife
Pocket knife,
(Not overly impressed with the pocket knife) but acceptable
And
The matsato kitchen knife.
The kitchen knife is the one in particular,
That has design flaws

I was sent an unbranded blunt knife from Matsato and my bad reviews reflected this but to be fair the support management reached out to me and they replaced the knife with a branded version and the first thing I did was cut my finger getting it out of the box, it is definitely sharp. I must say though Matsato rectified my concerns quite admirably, even giving me a pair of Matsato scissors by way of an apology, which my wife loves. Overall very impressed with the company after a bumpy start and super impressed with the replacement knife, just keep your fingers clear!

When I ordered the Matsato knife I didn't expect anything extraordinary. But I was wrong. The knife is amazing. Very sharp, well-built, beautiful and made to last. The packaging is superb, customer service is great and delivery speed is very good.

While the box package is a 10, and the leather sheath would be a 10 also, if I had purchased, I feel that the knife should be sold with an inexpensive plastic or nylon sheath for a safety protection and sharpness protection in the drawer!
