The tour guide was fantastic! Brigitte had so much knowledge of what happened behind the scenes of the filming. When we were travelling on the bus and making the various stops, the description of the movie scene made you feel you were back in 1964 on location.

April was fantastic, she knew so much about what happened during the filming of sound if music, was great fun the whole trip. We had brilliant stops at the attractions, with good amount of time. Definitely recommend this experience.

A trip that has been on my wife's bucket list for many years and we finally made it. It was good to not only be given the details of the film locations around Salzburg but also to drive out to the magnificent views of the lake district area around an hour's drive away. The church and village where the wedding scenes took place was a delight. Our courier Dave was very informative and got the coach singing along. My only small criticism came when he sang his own silly lyrics to some of the songs and at other times was speaking loudly to the driver. There are serious fans on these tours who don't need entertaining non-stop and would like to really get into the songs and the scenery without unwanted distractions and silliness. Overall he did a very good job and we loved the trip.

Does the job if you don't want to risk public transport
Bus arrived promptly and was very efficient.
The music on the way back was loud and annoying- 15 minutes traditional music was more like 30 minutes followed by loud pop music. Really not necessary.
With hindsight we could have done the trip by public transport but overall happy with the experience.

Our tour guide made this tour. His name was David and he was so much fun. We had rainy weather unfortunately so we weren’t able to really experience the best views but he still did a wonderful job telling us facts about the movie and having a sing along to the music. Our driver Ferdinand did a great job navigating the streets thru the traffic. Overall would highly recommend this tour group.

Our guide Peter was amazing, his knowledge of Salzburg and the Sound of Music was incredible. We visited everything on our list, especially liked the picnic area scene. When one of our sons wasn’t feeling well Peter kindly dropped him off at our hotel so we could carry on with our tour. Well worth the 5 star rating!

What a fabulous tour!
Our guide ‘April’ was a delight, and such a bundle of fun from the moment we boarded the coach. Her enthusiasm was infectious.
The driver was brilliant and was an expert at squeezing into tight spaces.
If there was a way to rate ten stars I would happily do it.

For being “the original” tour, we were pretty disappointed that we couldn’t get off the bus and walk up to various sites. Someone on our bus asked if we could get out to walk over to the site where Maria walks down the path towards the Trapp family home after leaving the abbey. Our guide told us we could not, so we could only take a photo from pretty far away. But she told us we could get on the city bus to go there. We found that frustrating. If the city bus could go, why couldn’t the original tour bus? We also never got an opportunity to get out of the bus to stand on the hills where the movie starts or where Maria and the children picnic. We did like the tour around Austria and getting information from the guide.

We understand your disappointment about not being able to get off the bus at certain filming locations. However, some of these sites are located on private property or in residential areas. As a responsible tour operator, we respect the privacy of local residents and property owners and therefore do not stop at locations where visitor access would interfere with their private lives.
In the case of the path where Maria walks towards the Trapp family home, public transportation is permitted to stop nearby as part of the local transport network, but our tour buses are not authorized to do so. For guests who wish to explore this location in more detail, the city bus offers an alternative option.
Our aim is to provide an enjoyable and authentic experience while also being respectful of the communities and individuals who live at or near these famous sites. We appreciate your understanding and hope that, despite this limitation, you were able to enjoy the overall experience.

Beautiful locations, tons of information, and fun. Tour director kept quite a pace and would walk off- especially at the last stop where it was difficult to find the return to the bus, but he was fun, so there's that. I loved it my wife never cared for the movie.

We booked the tour to Hallstatt (5 hours total, including drive, but 2 hours spent at Hallstatt). The bus was clean and comfortable. I liked that the tour guide gave facts about various towns along the way. Overall, it was a pleasant experience! I would definitely recommend this tour, as it's much quicker to get to Hallstatt and 2 hours is a good amount of time to do things (although, we did not do the salt mine tour, so you may need more time for that).
