About this business
When Planet Beauty opened in sunny Newport Beach, California in 1992, we didn’t agree with the definition of a beauty retailer. Rows of little beauty counters crowded inside busy department stores surrounded by mazes of packed parking lots…mega-mall monotony. This was not our definition of beauty. So, we decided to create a curated beauty haven in convenient neighborhood locations.We provided professional beauty brands as well as trending products and innovative newcomers.We developed a structured educational program to ensure the best and the brightest beauty advisors in our stores. And we decided we were going to have our own definition of beauty. And for over 25 years, we’ve done just that. 37 locations and a successful website later, we deliver more than just the best in makeup, skincare, haircare, styling tools, bath and fragrance. We redefined what beauty means to us, and most importantly, to you.

Will bait and switch your order
The very first time I ordered from them, I got what I ordered. The second time I received what looked to be a change in the order. I didn't screenshot the original order and the email they sent showed that I had ordered what they sent. I was positive I did not since it was a product I do not use. This third and definitely LAST order I KNOW I ordered shampoo, because I needed shampoo. Instead I received detangler solution that I would never buy. It was not listed as a side selection on the same page. It was advertised as on sale, JUST the shampoo. Went to check the email to argue the point with them and they got me again. I never imagined a company could be so sneaky. I checked their webpage and they no longer offer the shampoo, so they just decided to switch it to keep my money. Do NOT USE them.

This was the second time they pulled…
This was the second time they pulled the bait and switch on me. I ordered shampoo. It was the only thing on the page, not a "selection". Instead they sent me detangler/conditioner. DO NOT USE THEM. It's always something wrong with the order. I didn't check the email receipt right away, not that it would matter. They won't make it right. Spend the money with a legitimate company you can trust.

I wanted to cancel an order and emailed info at planet beauty.com several times without any response. I also called the local store in Laguna Niguel to request cancellation of my order. They said they are unable to cancel in the store but offered to email your HQ as well. This is very frustrating because it is a simple request for your customer support department which apparently does not exist. Yet you keep extending the deadline to pick up the order and it should have been cancelled on your end by now.
