I just signed one month ago a contract…

I just signed one month ago a contract with Podium, they promesed me that the customer service will be very fast and efficient. I am not a person who wants the things done inmmediatly, but rather I need to know if someone is doing somenting about my problems. In this case Stuart sold me the software very well, actually I was using it for some time in the past, and I left podium because at that time there were other better options. Then I signed up again, trusting that the platform got better improvements, however the moment I started using it, the lack of support is unbelivable, is like you signed the contract and they forget about you. The first problem was when the phone connection was made and the calls from customers did not arrive to our phones, which is something you can expect to have some problems. However the main problem is Podium does not asnwer phones they are just email platform, so you have no chances to fix a problem which is urgent. The problems with the phones after 2 or 3 weeks have not been fixed completly and I am still chasing podium support (Anthony) to help me with my Perth Store phones. After that I have experienced problems with the balances showing different amount that should be, which make impossible to track customers payments and make difficult to know how much money will arrive to your account. If you take the contract be prepared to have long periods without answers or to be asked multiple times about the same problem. They don't follow the threads on the emails therefore you have to be the one checking if they answer every problem. I don't recommend at all becuase of the lack of response of the customer service, particularly when you need help the most which is at the begining of the integrations and set up of the system.

Complete trap for small businesses

Complete trap for small businesses —misleading features, terrible support, and predatory auto-renewals strongly advise small business owners to look elsewhere. I run a tight, 4-man operation where every dollar counts, and signing up for Podium has been a massive financial mistake. From day one, sales reps promised me that client group texting was fully supported. When it didn’t work, they claimed it was "in the pipeline." It never arrived. The system itself feels completely outdated. To lock you in, they use a ridiculous auto-renewal clause because they know their software sucks and people want to leave. When you have an issue, customer support is outsourced overseas to people who do not even understand their own software. Their extreme internal employee turnover explains the chaos—we are assigned a brand-new account representative every 4 months, forcing us to explain our business needs over and over again. They do not care about customer success; they only care about collecting their monthly payments. I just found an alternative software that does exactly what I actually need for $300 less a month. Do not get trapped by their predatory renewals and empty sales promises. Bottom line is use someone else. They do not care about your company. Only the payments they lock you into.

The Last Straw

I just made my last payment to Podium after not using their service for 10 months! Year 1 went great (customer service was a let down). But right after we renewed, my CRM contract was expiring and I wanted a new one. I chose a CRM that had many of the Podium features already integrated, at a lower cost. I tried to get the two systems talking through a third-party app, but Podium wasn't thrilled about it — they actually told me at first that they couldn't do it. It was too much effort fighting, so I asked my "customer success manager" to cancel, only 2 months into my new contract. They offered me a buyout for the remaining 10 months I owed... so I just paid monthly for about 7 months. Then they asked if I'd be interested in their new CRM service. I said I canceled with you 7 months ago. Then a CSM reached out about the cancellation (I've had about 10 of them in the last year) offering a reduced buyout of 1 free month. I said slap in the face, but I'll take it. They then said they needed confirmation of my cancellation request in writing. Are you kidding me?! I sent them another request. Then crickets for the next 3 months. THE DAY!!!! I pay the last invoice, I get a sales call from Podium asking if I'd be interested in their new CRM. I tell him my story and he says: "Well, I do apologize for that, man. If, uh, you can give me a time, uh, for twenty minutes right now or, like, later on today, whichever work best for you, we can schedule a quick Zoom meeting and, uh, we can go over it. And, uh, you don't need to use like four different platforms at the same time. We can provide you—" click. So here I am writing the review I wanted to write 10 months ago... and that was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

The sales staff says their system can…

The sales staff says their system can do anything (3 stores)and the truth is it cannot although they promised it could and then they did not stand behind what they say it could do. We were forced into a year agreement and stopped answering our emails and calls and sent us to customer service h***. Luckily, our contract is almost up and we will not be renewing.

Ben has been incredibly helpful in…

Ben has been incredibly helpful in teaching me how to navigate the entire Podium system. In particular, he has shown me how to find the information I need in the knowledge base and guided me through Podium’s more complex—and impressive—features that help improve our customer experience and support our business’s success. It has been a pleasure working with him. It is clear that Ben and his colleagues are highly responsive—not only to me and my needs as a customer, but also to one another as they support our business’s journey with Podium. We truly appreciate his knowledge, patience, and continued support.

Expensive and not worth the hassle

They are super expensive for what you get. Almost any modification on your account, you have to schedule an appoinment with your manager. You have little control over what you can do by yourself. Also, they autonew and lock you in for a year at a time. You cannot modify your plan or your 12 month service agreement starts all over. We pay almost $600 a month for the same service other businesses charge a 10th of the price for. Very unhappy with my service. I feel like I'm stuck in it.

A valuable platform for managing reviews across multiple locations

Our dealership group has worked with Podium for more than five years, and I have personally used the platform for about four years. During that time, we have worked with several excellent account managers and support team members. As a large dealership group, we need a platform that allows us to manage reviews and our online reputation across multiple locations while still being easy for our team members to use. Podium has continued to provide that for us, along with helpful integrations and support. There have been a few bumps along the way. Our biggest frustration was the frequent turnover of customer success managers. At one point, we had approximately four different managers within one year. One manager met with us only once before we were reassigned again less than a month later. Thankfully, that issue has since been resolved, and we have had a much more consistent experience with our current manager. Overall, our experience with Podium has been positive, and the platform continues to be a valuable tool for our team.

Talk about going full circle..

Talk about going full circle... I'm writing a review about a platform that's helped me respond to reviews. 😄 Podium has made managing customer feedback so much easier. The interface is intuitive, responding to reviews is quick, and having everything in one place saves a ton of time. It's become an essential part of our customer experience strategy and helps us stay engaged with our customers consistently. If your business relies on online reviews (and whose doesn't?), Podium is absolutely worth it.
