I didn’t plan on sticking around past my discounted boxes because the price is so much higher than other meal services I used before. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with the overall portions, quality and variety of produce. It was all a lot better than other services (and I’ve tried nearly every comparable one out there). Let’s just say you do get what you pay for. I’ve stayed for several weeks now ..they hooked me. My only criticism would be that I wish every single meal option had at least 18-20 grams of protein. I appreciate that they offer a few “high protein” labeled options each week. However, I don’t think that something with only 11 grams of protein should be considered a meal and exist on the menu at all …
It would be helpful for your meals to arrive either on a Monday or earlier on a Tuesday. They normally arrive too late for us on Tuesday to cook that for dinner. It would also be helpful if you all didn't use so much plastic in your packaging.
good ingredients and variety. A little pricy and the only reason for knocking it down a star. But way more often than not I'm very satisfied with the meals.
The boxes came late, food was spoiled and one box had been opened and retaped. I emailed customer service 5 days ago and no response.

Hi Kellie! We're so sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with your delivery. This is not what we expect or want to see, and we definitely want to help. Could you send us an e-mail to [email protected] ? We look forward to speaking with you!
The recipes are pretty good. I am not vegan but wanted to try a meal service. The meal preps are good with the exception that most fruit is not ripe. The complaint I have is when the ready made meals get to me they are either expired or will expire in 2 to 3 days. I can't eat 10 to 15 meals in 2 to 3 days and I won't eat expire food at all.
Arugula was rotten when it arrived. Ginger is also usually in the verge of rot by the time I get my box.
After replacing these ingredients, the meals were tasty!
I really enjoy the food and recipes. Ingredients are always fresh. My only complaint is all the single use packaging, which I understand help keep it fresh. I just wish I could send them back for reuse.
Did not know much of the food was spicy.
I thought there would be more vegetables as advertised (eat more vegetables).
Higher in sodium and fat than expected.
Some of the meals are really delicious. Sometimes they are disappointing. Tortellini is a favorite of my except when last week it did not have any sauce as it usually does.
The recipes are delicious. I have had some elements missing from the kits. One was cauliflower and it was a cauliflower dish. I was able to repurpose the ingredients.
Meals are usually really delicious. Meals are expensive and involved so I don’t always have time to make such an elaborate meal. The default meals are usually the worst meals.
I like the variety of menu options, freshness of ingredients sometimes an issue
I like the variety of menu options. Food is very flavorful, though I sometimes enhance with chilies or chili paste for more of a zing. And, I love trying new foods. Orders are getting more accurate (had problems with missing items in previous orders), but still not perfect. For Sweet & Spicy Kashmiri Curry, I was supposed to use 1 oz of fresh ginger. I got a piece that weighed only .65 oz. Luckily, I had extra on hand. Freshness of ingredients (green onions, broccoli, etc) is sometimes an issue. For the Pulled BBQ Jackfruit Sandwiches, there was barely enough jackfruit for one sandwich let alone two. Plus, I got my order on Wednesday and made the sandwiches on Saturday. Had to toss the slaw since it was already bad.
I was looking for a healthy meal service that was moderately priced and offered flexibility. Purple Carrot does all that and more! I love so many things about their service. I can pause or skip meals how many ever weeks I want. I can also change the number of meals I’m getting per week. If I don’t feel like spending too much money on some weeks I just order one or two meals instead of three. Other services don’t offer this kind of flexibility. Plus their meals are yummy and healthy. All in all, if you’re looking for a plant based meal service that’s flexible, go for Purple Carrot. You won’t be disappointed.
The precut veggies go bad, I'd prefer them to not be precut

I love my purple carrot Meals, they taste great and make my life easier. The only problem I find is by the time the package arrives the use by date is sometimes three or four days away and with eight days of meals I only eat one a day I’m sometimes way past the use by date. I’ve only had to throw away one so far cause the plastic was bubbled out. I love them though I’ve lost a lot of weight and look forward to eating my purple carrot lunch 😊 thanks!
