SpotHero Cost Us Time, Money, and a Special Evening

We booked a spot on 219/225 E Lower N Water St in Chicago. Finding the parking garage was frustrating. We spent over 30 minutes driving around trying to locate it. The videos provided were of no help, and the GPS directions repeatedly took us to the wrong location. As our restaurant reservation time approached, we quickly booked another spot on 516 N Rush, thinking that SpotHero would refund us money for the spot we were unable to use. Unfortunately, we received virtually no assistance and ultimately ended up paying for two parking spots, even though we could only use one. To make matters worse, the parking spot on Rush Street that we booked through SpotHero cost exactly the same as the regular parking rate, so not only did we not save any money—we actually ended up paying twice. As a result, we arrived late for our dinner reservation, inconveniencing not only ourselves but also the restaurant staff, who were kind enough to wait for us. Customer service was equally disappointing. Instead of providing meaningful assistance, representatives responded slowly with long, generic messages that failed to address the actual problem. The entire experience felt like a waste of time. Overall, SpotHero turned what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening into an unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant experience. I would not recommend using this service based on our experience.

Experience was good. Easy in, easy out. I was just confused on where I was supposed to scan my bar code but all in all, it worked out.

Helpful customer service

Today was my first time using the app. I had made a reservation but when I got to the lot, the spots were taken. Not knowing what to do, I called the help line. The call was answered almost immediately. Coco helped identify a couple of other lots but they were not close enough for me to use at this time. So when I advised I would use another lot nearby, she said to send the receipt by email (she provided an email) and I would be reimbursed the difference between the cost of the original lot and the one I ended up parking at. I appreciated this and was happy that she was able to rectify the issue in this way.

This space is at a persons home

This space is at a persons home. It is in the back of their home. Did not see anyone while parking there but this spot is fantastic! We just crossed the street and went into Ravina by the back way. We just followed the people. Took about 10 minutes that to walk in and get the pavilion. Very close. Also you dodged any traffic getting out. Just leave their driveway to the street and we were out.

The support was great. The problem was I could not find the entrance to the original parking garage that I had booked so I called your phone number and they booked me with another one nearby and of course my price I believe went up a little bit because of this.

The parking attendants were the best part of my experience. The location was also a plus

Canceled Event, No Parking Refund

We were unable us use parking because the show got canceled, we were on our way at 4pm which was the start time of my parking. The show was canceled at 5pm but because parking time had already started we could not cancel. No show and lost parking money. Bad day and bad experience.

I’m disappointed by this service

I’m disappointed by this service. When travelling to Toronto I booked a parking spot in advance since I knew the area I was going to was going to be very busy. The lot I booked was full and I got turned away. I had to find another parking lot and paid 3x the price of the original spot I booked. It seems like the booking system doesn’t work for all parking lots and the people who run the lots would rather accept other cars to get higher rates. I was really excited that I could plan in advance, but it ended up being stressful in the end while we scrambled to find a parking spot and catch a ferry.
