And that would mean me providing my social security number to Fedex to get the shipment through customs. Obviously, that information would put customers off, but I thought I'd mention it.

If you are in the US, DO NOT ORDER!
They do not have a warehouse or office in the US. You have no recourse WHEN something goes wrong from shipping from the UK.
In our case, they held up our renovation for 4 weeks and parents could not visit for the holidays. In the end, Fed Ex told us Hudson Reed gave up on trying to import and Hudson Reed issued a Return To Shipper to them. Why?
- They lost track of paperwork and sent it to closed cases.
- They didn't have the right detailed information to pass customs.
We were back to zero even though we ordered 2 weeks in advance of their delivery within "1-5 business days" promise.
At the end of the day they were cowards and liars in email and on the phone. It appeared they hoped they could get it past a US Customs officer and gambled on us. They didn't win and WE LOST!
